of thee and answer

וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃

When I made

בְּשׂוּמִ֣י

the cloud

עָנָ֣ן

the garment

לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ

thereof and thick darkness

וַ֝עֲרָפֶ֗ל

a swaddlingband

חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃

And brake up

וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר

 

עָלָ֣יו

for it my decreed

חֻקִּ֑י

place and set

וָֽ֝אָשִׂ֗ים

bars

בְּרִ֣יחַ

and doors

וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃

And said

וָאֹמַ֗ר

Hitherto

עַד

 

פֹּ֣ה

shalt thou come

תָ֭בוֹא

 

וְלֹ֣א

but no further

תֹסִ֑יף

 

וּפֹ֥א

be stayed

יָ֝שִׁ֗ית

and here shall thy proud

בִּגְא֥וֹן

waves

גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃

since thy days

הֲֽ֭מִיָּמֶיךָ

Hast thou commanded

צִוִּ֣יתָ

the morning

בֹּ֑קֶר

to know

יִדַּ֖עְתָּהַ

and caused the dayspring

שַּׁ֣חַר

his place

מְקֹמֽוֹ׃

That it might take hold

לֶ֭אֱחֹז

of the ends

בְּכַנְפ֣וֹת

of the earth

הָאָ֑רֶץ

might be shaken out

וְיִנָּעֲר֖וּ

that the wicked

רְשָׁעִ֣ים

 

מִמֶּֽנָּה׃

It is turned

תִּ֭תְהַפֵּךְ

as clay

כְּחֹ֣מֶר

to the seal

חוֹתָ֑ם

and they stand

וְ֝יִֽתְיַצְּב֗וּ

 

כְּמ֣וֹ

as a garment

לְבֽוּשׁ׃

is withholden

וְיִמָּנַ֣ע

And from the wicked

מֵרְשָׁעִ֣ים

their light

אוֹרָ֑ם

arm

וּזְר֥וֹעַ

and the high

רָ֝מָ֗ה

shall be broken

תִּשָּׁבֵֽר׃

Hast thou entered

הֲ֭בָאתָ

 

עַד

into the springs

נִבְכֵי

of the sea

יָ֑ם

in the search

וּבְחֵ֥קֶר

of the depth

תְּ֝ה֗וֹם

or hast thou walked

הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃

been opened

הֲנִגְל֣וּ

 

לְ֭ךָ

Have the gates

וְשַׁעֲרֵ֖י

of death

מָ֑וֶת

Have the gates

וְשַׁעֲרֵ֖י

of the shadow of death

צַלְמָ֣וֶת

unto thee or hast thou seen

תִּרְאֶֽה׃

Hast thou perceived

הִ֭תְבֹּנַנְתָּ

בָּרָ֣ד

חָשַׂ֥כְתִּי

of the tender herb

דֶֽשֶׁא׃

לַמָּטָ֥ר

Canst thou bind

הַֽ֭תְקַשֵּׁר

the sweet influences

מַעֲדַנּ֣וֹת

of Pleiades

כְּסִ֣יל

Canst thou bring forth

הֲתֹצִ֣יא

Mazzaroth

מַזָּר֣וֹת

בְּעִתּ֑וֹ

Arcturus

וְ֝עַ֗יִשׁ

Knowest

הֲ֭יָדַעְתָּ

thou the ordinances

חֻקּ֣וֹת

of heaven

שָׁמָ֑יִם

canst thou set

תָּשִׂ֖ים

the dominion

מִשְׁטָר֣וֹ

thereof in the earth

בָאָֽרֶץ׃

Canst thou lift up

הֲתָרִ֣ים

to the clouds

לָעָ֣ב

thy voice

קוֹלֶ֑ךָ

that abundance

וְֽשִׁפְעַת

of waters

מַ֥יִם

may cover

תְּכַסֶּֽךָּ׃

Canst thou send

הַֽתְשַׁלַּ֣ח

lightnings

בְּרָקִ֣ים

 

וְיֵלֵ֑כוּ

and say

וְיֹאמְר֖וּ

 

לְךָ֣

 

הִנֵּֽנוּ׃

בַּטֻּח֣וֹת

wisdom

חָכְמָ֑ה

הֲתָצ֣וּד

for the lion

לְלָבִ֣יא

the prey

טָ֑רֶף

the appetite

וְחַיַּ֖ת

of the young lions

כְּפִירִ֣ים

תְּמַלֵּֽא׃

 

כִּי

When they couch

יָשֹׁ֥חוּ

in their dens

בַמְּעוֹנ֑וֹת

and abide

יֵשְׁב֖וּ

in the covert

בַסֻּכָּ֣ה

לְמוֹ

lie in wait

אָֽרֶב׃

 

מִ֤י

Who provideth

יָכִ֥ין

for the raven

לָעֹרֵ֗ב

his food
