and behold a young

כְּפִ֣יר

lion

אֲרָי֔וֹת

roared

שֹׁאֵ֖ג

against

לִקְרָאתֽוֹ׃

came mightily

וַתִּצְלַ֨ח

 

עָלָ֜יו

And the Spirit

ר֣וּחַ

of the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

him as he would have rent

כְּשַׁסַּ֣ע

her and he turned aside

לִרְא֔וֹת

the carcase

of the lion

וְהִנֵּ֨ה

and behold there was a swarm

עֲדַ֧ת

of bees

דְּבוֹרִ֛ים

in the carcase

בִּגְוִיַּ֥ת

of the lion

הָֽאַרְיֵ֖ה

and honey

וּדְבָֽשׁ׃

And he took

רָדָ֥ה

 

אֶל

thereof in his hands

כַּפָּ֗יו

and came

וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙

with my heifer

בְּעֶגְלָתִ֔י

מְצָאתֶ֖ם

my riddle

חִֽידָתִֽי׃

וַתִּצְלַ֨ח

 

עָלָ֜יו

And the Spirit

ר֣וּחַ

of the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

upon him and he went down

וַיֵּ֨רֶד

to Ashkelon

אַשְׁקְל֜וֹן

and slew

וַיַּ֥ךְ

 

מֵהֶ֣ם׀

thirty

שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים

men

אִ֗ישׁ

of them and took

וַיִּקַּח֙

 

אֶת

their spoil

חֲלִ֣יצוֹתָ֔ם

and gave

וַיִּתֵּן֙

change

הַֽחֲלִיפ֔וֹת

of garments unto them which expounded

לְמַגִּידֵ֖י

the riddle

הַֽחִידָ֑ה

was kindled

וַיִּ֣חַר

And his anger

אַפּ֔וֹ

and he went up

וַיַּ֖עַל

to his father's

But Samson's

שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן

was given to his companion

לְמֵ֣רֵעֵ֔הוּ

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

whom he had used as his friend

רֵעָ֖ה
