Her feet

רַ֭גְלֶיהָ

go down

יֹרְד֣וֹת

צְעָדֶ֥יהָ

take hold

יִתְמֹֽכוּ׃

from her and come not nigh

בֵּיתָֽהּ׃

Lest thou give

תִּתֵּ֣ן

לַאֲחֵרִ֣ים

thine honour

הוֹדֶ֑ךָ

and thy years

וּ֝שְׁנֹתֶ֗יךָ

unto the cruel

לְאַכְזָרִֽי׃

be filled

יִשְׂבְּע֣וּ

Lest strangers

זָרִ֣ים

with thy wealth

כֹּחֶ֑ךָ

and thy labours

וַ֝עֲצָבֶ֗יךָ

be in the house

בְּבֵ֣ית

of a stranger

נָכְרִֽי׃

And thou mourn

וְנָהַמְתָּ֥

at the last

בְאַחֲרִיתֶ֑ךָ

are consumed

בִּכְל֥וֹת

when thy flesh

בְּ֝שָׂרְךָ֗

and thy body

וּשְׁאֵרֶֽךָ׃

And say

וְֽאָמַרְתָּ֗

 

אֵ֭יךְ

How have I hated

שָׂנֵ֣אתִי

instruction

מוּסָ֑ר

reproof

וְ֝תוֹכַ֗חַת

despised

נָאַ֥ץ

and my heart

לִבִּֽי׃

 

וְֽלֹא

And have not obeyed

שָׁ֭מַעְתִּי

the voice

בְּק֣וֹל

of my teachers

מוֹרָ֑י

to them that instructed

וְ֝לִֽמְלַמְּדַ֗י

 

לֹא

nor inclined

הִטִּ֥יתִי

mine ear

אָזְנִֽי׃

I was almost

כִּ֭מְעַט

 

הָיִ֣יתִי

 

בְכָל

in all evil

רָ֑ע

in the midst

בְּת֖וֹךְ

of the congregation

קָהָ֣ל

and assembly

וְעֵדָֽה׃

Drink

שְׁתֵה

waters

מַ֥יִם

out of thine own cistern

מִבּוֹרֶ֑ךָ

and running waters

וְ֝נֹזְלִ֗ים

out of

מִתּ֥וֹךְ

thine own well

בְּאֵרֶֽךָ׃

be dispersed

יָפ֣וּצוּ

Let thy fountains

מַעְיְנֹתֶ֣יךָ

abroad

ח֑וּצָה

in the streets

בָּ֝רְחֹב֗וֹת

and rivers

פַּלְגֵי

of waters

מָֽיִם׃

 

יִֽהְיוּ

 

לְךָ֥

 

לְבַדֶּ֑ךָ

Let them be only thine own and not strangers

לְזָרִ֣ים

 

אִתָּֽךְ׃

Let thy fountain

מְקוֹרְךָ֥

be blessed

בָר֑וּךְ

and rejoice

וּ֝שְׂמַ֗ח

with the wife

מֵאֵ֥שֶׁת

of thy youth

נְעוּרֶֽךָ׃

hind

אַיֶּ֥לֶת

Let her be as the loving

אֲהָבִ֗ים

roe

וְֽיַעֲלַ֫ת

and pleasant

חֵ֥ן

let her breasts

דַּ֭דֶּיהָ

satisfy

יְרַוֻּ֣ךָ

 

בְכָל

thee at all times

עֵ֑ת

with her love

בְּ֝אַהֲבָתָ֗הּ

and be thou ravished

תִּשְׁגֶּ֥ה

always

תָמִֽיד׃

 

וְלָ֤מָּה

be ravished

תִשְׁגֶּ֣ה

And why wilt thou my son

בְנִ֣י

with a strange woman

בְזָרָ֑ה

and embrace

וּ֝תְחַבֵּ֗ק

the bosom

חֵ֣ק

of a stranger

נָכְרִיָּֽה׃

 

כִּ֤י

are before

נֹ֨כַח׀

the eyes

עֵינֵ֣י

of the LORD

יְ֭הוָה

For the ways

דַּרְכֵי

of man

אִ֑ישׁ

 

וְֽכָל

all his goings

מַעְגְּלֹתָ֥יו

and he pondereth

מְפַלֵּֽס׃

His own iniquities

עֲֽווֹנֹתָ֗יו

shall take

יִלְכְּדֻנ֥וֹ

 

אֶת

the wicked

הָרָשָׁ֑ע

himself and he shall be holden

וּבְחַבְלֵ֥י

of his sins

חַ֝טָּאת֗וֹ

with the cords

יִתָּמֵֽךְ׃

 

ה֗וּא

He shall die

יָ֭מוּת

 

בְּאֵ֣ין

without instruction

מוּסָ֑ר

and in the greatness

וּבְרֹ֖ב

of his folly

אִוַּלְתּ֣וֹ

he shall go astray

יִשְׁגֶּֽה׃
