תַּעַזְבֶ֥הָ

her and she shall keep

וְתִצְּרֶֽךָּ׃

תְּ֝כַבֵּ֗דְךָ

 

כִּ֣י

when thou dost embrace

תְחַבְּקֶֽנָּה׃

She shall give

תִּתֵּ֣ן

to thine head

לְ֭רֹאשְׁךָ

an ornament

לִוְיַת

of grace

חֵ֑ן

a crown

עֲטֶ֖רֶת

of glory

תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת

shall she deliver

תְּמַגְּנֶֽךָּ׃

O my son

בְּ֭נִי

and receive

וְקַ֣ח

my sayings

אֲמָרָ֑י

shall be many

וְיִרְבּ֥וּ

and the years

שְׁנ֣וֹת

בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ

of wisdom

חָ֭כְמָה

הֹרֵתִ֑יךָ

הִ֝דְרַכְתִּ֗יךָ

בְּמַעְגְּלֵי

thee in right

יֹֽשֶׁר׃

 

בְּֽ֭לֶכְתְּךָ

 

לֹא

shall not be straitened

יֵצַ֣ר

thy steps

צַעֲדֶ֑ךָ

 

וְאִם

and when thou runnest

תָּ֝ר֗וּץ

 

לֹ֣א

thou shalt not stumble

תִכָּשֵֽׁל׃

Take fast hold

הַחֲזֵ֣ק

בַּמּוּסָ֣ר

let her not go

תֶּ֑רֶף

her for she is thy life

not in the way

בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ

Avoid

פְּרָעֵ֥הוּ

from it and pass away

וַעֲבֹֽר׃

not by it turn

שְׂטֵ֖ה

 

מֵעָלָ֣יו

from it and pass away

וַעֲבֹֽר׃

For they sleep

יִֽ֭שְׁנוּ

not except they have done mischief

יָרֵ֑עוּ

is taken away

וְֽנִגְזְלָ֥ה

and their sleep

שְׁ֝נָתָ֗ם

For they eat

לָ֭חֲמוּ

the bread

לֶ֣חֶם

of wickedness

רֶ֑שַׁע

the wine

חֲמָסִ֣ים

and drink

יִשְׁתּֽוּ׃

But the path

וְאֹ֣רַח

of the just

צַ֭דִּיקִים

light

כְּא֣וֹר

is as the shining

נֹ֑גַהּ

more

הוֹלֵ֥ךְ

that shineth

וָ֝א֗וֹר

 

עַד

and more unto the perfect

נְכ֥וֹן

day

הַיּֽוֹם׃

The way

דֶּ֣רֶךְ

of the wicked

רְ֭שָׁעִים

is as darkness

כָּֽאֲפֵלָ֑ה

 

לֹ֥א

they know

יָ֝דְע֗וּ

 

בַּמֶּ֥ה

not at what they stumble

יִכָּשֵֽׁלוּ׃

בְּ֭נִי

to my words

לִדְבָרַ֣י

attend

הַקְשִׁ֑יבָה

unto my sayings

לַ֝אֲמָרַ֗י

הַט

thine ear

אָזְנֶֽךָ׃

Let them not depart

יַלִּ֥יזוּ

from thine eyes

מֵעֵינֶ֑יךָ

from thee a froward

עִקְּשׁ֣וּת

mouth

פֶּ֑ה

and perverse

וּלְז֥וּת

lips

שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם

put far

הַרְחֵ֥ק

 

מִמֶּֽךָּ׃

Let thine eyes

עֵ֭ינֶיךָ

right on

לְנֹ֣כַח

look

יַבִּ֑יטוּ

and let thine eyelids

וְ֝עַפְעַפֶּ֗יךָ

look straight

יַיְשִׁ֥רוּ

 

נֶגְדֶּֽךָ׃

Ponder

פַּ֭לֵּס

the path

מַעְגַּ֣ל

of thy feet

רַגְלֶ֑ךָ

 

וְֽכָל

and let all thy ways

דְּרָכֶ֥יךָ

be established

יִכֹּֽנוּ׃

not to the right hand

יָמִ֥ין

nor to the left

וּשְׂמֹ֑אול

remove

הָסֵ֖ר

thy foot

רַגְלְךָ֣

from evil
