are with you and I have walked

הִתְהַלַּ֣כְתִּי

before

לִפְנֵיכֶ֔ם

 

וַֽאֲנִי֙

you and I am old

זָקַ֣נְתִּי

and grayheaded

וָשַׂ֔בְתִּי

and behold my sons

וּבָנַ֖י

 

הִנָּ֣ם

 

אִתְּכֶ֑ם

 

וַֽאֲנִי֙

are with you and I have walked

הִתְהַלַּ֣כְתִּי

before

לִפְנֵיכֶ֔ם

you from my childhood

מִנְּעֻרַ֖י

 

עַד

unto this day

הַיּ֥וֹם

 

הַזֶּֽה׃

 

הִנְנִ֣י

Behold here I am witness

עֲנ֣וּ

 

בִי֩

 

נֶ֨גֶד

against me before the LORD

יְהוָ֜ה

 

וְנֶ֣גֶד

and before his anointed

מְשִׁיח֗וֹ

 

אֶת

whose ox

שׁוֹר֩׀

 

מִ֨י

have I taken

לָקַ֣חְתִּי

or whose ass

וַֽחֲמ֧וֹר

 

מִ֣י

have I taken

לָקַ֣חְתִּי

 

וְאֶת

 

מִ֤י

or whom have I defrauded

עָשַׁ֙קְתִּי֙

 

אֶת

 

מִ֣י

whom have I oppressed

רַצּ֔וֹתִי

or of whose hand

וּמִיַּד

 

מִי֙

have I taken

לָקַ֣חְתִּי

have I received any bribe

כֹ֔פֶר

to blind

וְאַעְלִ֥ים

mine eyes

therewith and I will restore

us nor oppressed

רַצּוֹתָ֑נוּ

 

וְלֹֽא

us neither hast thou taken

לָקַ֥חְתָּ

מִיַּד

of any man's

אִ֖ישׁ

ought

מְאֽוּמָה׃

And he said

וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

 

אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם

He is witness

עֵֽד׃

unto them The LORD

against you and his anointed

מְשִׁיחוֹ֙

this day

הַיּ֣וֹם

לֹ֧א

that ye have not found

מְצָאתֶ֛ם

in my hand

בְּיָדִ֖י

ought

מְא֑וּמָה

And he said

וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

He is witness

עֵֽד׃

And Samuel

unto the people

הָעָ֑ם

It is the LORD

that advanced

עָשָׂה֙

Moses

מֹשֶׁ֣ה

 

וְאֶֽת

and Aaron

אַהֲרֹ֔ן

 

וַֽאֲשֶׁ֧ר

and that brought

הֶֽעֱלָ֛ה

 

אֶת

your fathers

אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֖ם

out of the land

מֵאֶ֥רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

 

וְעַתָּ֗ה

Now therefore stand still

הִֽתְיַצְּב֛וּ

that I may reason

וְאִשָּֽׁפְטָ֥ה

 

אִתְּכֶ֖ם

with you before

לִפְנֵ֣י

of the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

אֵ֚ת

 

כָּל

of all the righteous acts

צִדְק֣וֹת

of the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁר

which he did

עָשָׂ֥ה

 

אִתְּכֶ֖ם

 

וְאֶת

to you and to your fathers

אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

 

כַּֽאֲשֶׁר

was come

בָּ֥א

When Jacob

יַֽעֲקֹ֖ב

into Egypt

מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם

cried

וַיִּזְעֲק֤וּ

and your fathers

אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם֙

 

אֶל

then the LORD

יְהוָ֜ה

sent

וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח

then the LORD

יְהוָ֜ה

 

אֶת

Moses

מֹשֶׁ֣ה

 

וְאֶֽת

and Aaron

אַהֲרֹ֗ן

which brought forth

וַיּוֹצִ֤יאוּ

and your fathers

אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם֙

into Egypt

מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם

and made them dwell

וַיֹּֽשִׁב֖וּם

in this place

בַּמָּק֥וֹם

And when they forgat

וַֽיִּשְׁכְּח֖וּ

the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

their God

אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם

he sold

וַיִּמְכֹּ֣ר

and into the hand

וּבְיַד֙

of Sisera

שַׂר

of the host

צְבָ֨א

of Hazor

חָצ֜וֹר

and into the hand

וּבְיַד֙

of the Philistines

and they fought

וַיִּֽלָּחֲמ֖וּ

 

בָּֽם׃

And they cried

וַיִּזְעֲק֤וּ

 

אֶל

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

and said

וַיֹּֽאמְר֣

We have sinned

חָטָ֔אנוּ

 

כִּ֤י

because we have forsaken

עָזַ֙בְנוּ֙

 

אֶת

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

and have served

וְנַֽעַבְדֶֽךָּ׃

 

אֶת

Baalim

הַבְּעָלִ֖ים

 

וְאֶת

and Ashtaroth

הָֽעַשְׁתָּר֑וֹת

 

וְעַתָּ֗ה

but now deliver

הַצִּילֵ֛נוּ

us out of the hand

מִיַּ֥ד

of our enemies

אֹֽיְבֵ֖ינוּ

and have served

וְנַֽעַבְדֶֽךָּ׃

sent

וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח

And the LORD

יְהוָה֙

Jerubbaal

יְרֻבַּ֣עַל

 

וְאֶת

and Bedan

בְּדָ֔ן

 

וְאֶת

and Jephthah

יִפְתָּ֖ח

 

וְאֶת

and Samuel

שְׁמוּאֵ֑ל

and delivered

וַיַּצֵּ֨ל

 

אֶתְכֶ֜ם

you out of the hand

מִיַּ֤ד

of your enemies

אֹֽיְבֵיכֶם֙

on every side

מִסָּבִ֔יב

and ye dwelled

וַתֵּֽשְׁב֖וּ

And when ye saw

וַתִּרְא֗וּ

that Nahash

נָחָ֞שׁ

the king

מַלְכְּכֶֽם׃

of the children

בְּנֵֽי

of Ammon

עַמּוֹן֮

came

בָּ֣א

 

עֲלֵיכֶם֒

against you ye said

וַתֹּ֣אמְרוּ

 

לִ֔י

 

לֹ֕א

 

כִּי

the king

מַלְכְּכֶֽם׃

shall reign

יִמְלֹ֣ךְ

 

עָלֵ֑ינוּ

over us when the LORD

וַֽיהוָ֥ה

your God

אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם

the king

מַלְכְּכֶֽם׃

 

וְעַתָּ֗ה

 

הִנֵּ֥ה

Now therefore behold the king

מֶֽלֶךְ׃

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

whom ye have chosen

בְּחַרְתֶּ֖ם

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

and whom ye have desired

שְׁאֶלְתֶּ֑ם

 

וְהִנֵּ֨ה

hath set

נָתַ֧ן

and behold the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם

Now therefore behold the king

מֶֽלֶךְ׃

 

אִם

If ye will fear

תִּֽירְא֣וּ

 

אֶת

of the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

and serve

וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּ֤ם

 

אֹתוֹ֙

him and obey

וּשְׁמַעְתֶּ֣ם

his voice

בְּקוֹל֔וֹ

 

וְלֹ֥א

and not rebel

תַמְר֖וּ

 

אֶת

against the commandment

פִּ֣י

of the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

 

וִֽהְיִתֶ֣ם

 

גַּם

 

אַתֶּ֗ם

 

וְגַם

then shall both ye and also the king

הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

that reigneth

מָלַ֣ךְ

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם

over you continue following

אַחַ֖ר

of the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

your God

אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶֽם׃

 

וְאִם

 

לֹ֤א

But if ye will not obey

תִשְׁמְעוּ֙

the voice

בְּק֣וֹל

of the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

but rebel

וּמְרִיתֶ֖ם

 

אֶת

against the commandment

פִּ֣י

of the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

 

וְהָֽיְתָ֧ה

then shall the hand

יַד

of the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

 

בָּכֶ֖ם

be against you as it was against your fathers

וּבַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃

Now therefore

גַּם

 

עַתָּה֙

stand

הִתְיַצְּב֣וּ

and see

וּרְא֔וּ

 

אֶת

thing

הַדָּבָ֥ר

this great

הַגָּד֖וֹל

 

הַזֶּ֑ה

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

will do

עֹשֶׂ֖ה

before your eyes

לְעֵֽינֵיכֶֽם׃

 

הֲל֤וֹא

harvest

קְצִיר

Is it not wheat

חִטִּים֙

to day

הַיּ֔וֹם

I will call

אֶקְרָא֙

 

אֶל

of the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

and he shall send

וְיִתֵּ֥ן

thunder

קֹל֖וֹת

and rain

וּמָטָ֑ר

that ye may perceive

וּדְע֣וּ

and see

וּרְא֗וּ

 

כִּֽי

that your wickedness

רָעַתְכֶ֤ם

is great

רַבָּה֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

which ye have done

עֲשִׂיתֶם֙

in the sight

בְּעֵינֵ֣י

of the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

in asking

לִשְׁא֥וֹל

 

לָכֶ֖ם

you a king

מֶֽלֶךְ׃

called

וַיִּקְרָ֤א

So Samuel

שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃

 

אֶל

and the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

sent

וַיִּתֵּ֧ן

and the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

thunder

קֹלֹ֥ת

and rain

וּמָטָ֖ר

that day

בַּיּ֣וֹם

 

הַה֑וּא

feared

וַיִּירָ֨א

 

כָל

and all the people

הָעָ֥ם

greatly

מְאֹ֛ד

 

אֶת

and the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

וְאֶת

So Samuel

שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃

said

וַיֹּֽאמְר֨וּ

 

כָל

And all the people

הָעָ֜ם

 

אֶל

unto Samuel

שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל

Pray

הִתְפַּלֵּ֧ל

 

בְּעַד

for thy servants

עֲבָדֶ֛יךָ

 

אֶל

unto the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ

 

וְאַל

that we die

נָמ֑וּת

 

כִּֽי

not for we have added

יָסַ֤פְנוּ

 

עַל

 

כָּל

unto all our sins

חַטֹּאתֵ֙ינוּ֙

this evil

רָעָ֔ה

to ask

לִשְׁאֹ֥ל

 

לָ֖נוּ

us a king

מֶֽלֶךְ׃

said

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

And Samuel

שְׁמוּאֵ֤ל

 

אֶל

unto the people

הָעָם֙

 

אַל

Fear

תִּירָ֔אוּ

 

אַתֶּ֣ם

not ye have done

עֲשִׂיתֶ֔ם

 

אֵ֥ת

 

כָּל

all this wickedness

הָֽרָעָ֖ה

 

הַזֹּ֑את

 

אַ֗ךְ

 

אַל

yet turn not aside

תָּס֙וּרוּ֙

from following

מֵאַֽחֲרֵ֣י

the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

but serve

וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּ֥ם

 

אֶת

the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

בְּכָל

with all your heart

לְבַבְכֶֽם׃

 

וְלֹ֖א

And turn ye not aside

תָּס֑וּרוּ

 

כִּ֣י׀

for then should ye go after

אַֽחֲרֵ֣י

for they are vain

תֹ֥הוּ

 

אֲשֶׁ֧ר

 

לֹֽא

things which cannot profit

יוֹעִ֛ילוּ

 

וְלֹ֥א

nor deliver

יַצִּ֖ילוּ

 

כִּי

for they are vain

תֹ֥הוּ

 

הֵֽמָּה׃

 

כִּ֠י

 

לֹֽא

will not forsake

יִטֹּ֤שׁ

his people

בַּֽעֲב֖וּר

for his great

sake because it hath pleased

הוֹאִ֣יל

For the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

to make

לַֽעֲשׂ֥וֹת

 

אֶתְכֶ֛ם

 

ל֖וֹ

his people

לְעָֽם׃

 

גַּ֣ם

Moreover as for me

אָֽנֹכִ֗י

God forbid

חָלִ֤ילָה

 

לִּי֙

that I should sin

מֵֽחֲטֹ֣א

against the LORD

לַֽיהוָ֔ה

in ceasing

מֵֽחֲדֹ֖ל

to pray

לְהִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל

 

בַּֽעַדְכֶ֑ם

for you but I will teach

וְהֽוֹרֵיתִ֣י

 

אֶתְכֶ֔ם

way

בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ

you the good

הַטּוֹבָ֖ה

and the right

וְהַיְשָׁרָֽה׃

 

אַ֣ךְ׀

Only fear

יְר֣אוּ

 

אֶת

the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

and serve

וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּ֥ם

 

אֹת֛וֹ

him in truth

בֶּֽאֱמֶ֖ת

 

בְּכָל

with all your heart
