בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ

when he came up

בַּֽעֲלֹת֖וֹ

from Egypt

מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

and smite

וְהִכִּיתָ֜ה

Amalek

עֲמָלֵ֗ק

and utterly destroy

וְהַֽחֲרַמְתֶּם֙

לֵאמֹֽר׃

It repenteth

נִחַ֗מְתִּי

 

כִּֽי

me that I have set up

הִמְלַ֤כְתִּי

 

אֶת

Saul

שָׁאוּל֙

to be king

לְמֶ֔לֶךְ

 

כִּי

for he is turned back

שָׁב֙

from following

מֵאַֽחֲרַ֔י

 

וְאֶת

my commandments

דְּבָרַ֖י

 

לֹ֣א

me and hath not performed

הֵקִ֑ים

And it grieved

וַיִּ֙חַר֙

לִשְׁמוּאֵ֔ל

and he cried

וַיִּזְעַ֥ק

 

אֶל

unto the LORD

הַלָּֽיְלָה׃

וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֧ם

And when Samuel

שָׁא֤וּל

in the morning

בַּבֹּ֑קֶר

it was told

וַיֻּגַּ֨ד

And when Samuel

saying

to Carmel

הַכַּרְמֶ֙לָה֙

 

וְהִנֵּ֨ה

and behold he set him up

What meaneth then this bleating

of the sheep

in mine ears

בְּאָזְנָ֑י

What meaneth then this bleating

הַבָּקָ֔ר

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which I hear

חָמַ֤ל

for the people

of the sheep

הַצֹּאן֙

and of the oxen

וְהַבָּקָ֔ר

to sacrifice

and I will tell

וְאַגִּ֣ידָה

 

לְּךָ֔

אֵלַ֖י

to me this night

הַלָּ֑יְלָה

And he said

When thou wast little

Yea I have obeyed

שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙

the voice

בְּק֣וֹל

of the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

וָֽאֵלֵ֕ךְ

the way

בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ

 

אֲשֶׁר

sent

שְׁלָחַ֣נִי

of the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

me and have brought

וָֽאָבִ֗יא

 

אֶת

Agag

אֲגַג֙

the king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of Amalek

עֲמָלֵ֖ק

הַחֵ֤פֶץ

Hath the LORD

in burnt offerings

בְּעֹל֣וֹת

and sacrifices

מִזֶּ֣בַח

Behold to obey

שְׁמֹ֙עַ֙

the voice

בְּק֣וֹל

Hath the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

הִנֵּ֤ה

Behold to obey

and to hearken

for I have transgressed

עָבַ֥רְתִּי

and thy words

דְּבָרֶ֑יךָ

 

כִּ֤י

because I feared

יָרֵ֙אתִי֙

the people

הָעָ֔ם

and obeyed

וָֽאֶשְׁמַ֖ע

their voice

בְּקוֹלָֽם׃

 

וְעַתָּ֕ה

Now therefore I pray thee pardon

שָׂ֥א

my sin

with me that I may worship
