וְהִרְשִׁ֖יעוּ

the wicked

הָֽרָשָֽׁע׃

 

וְהָיָ֛ה

וְהִכָּ֣הוּ

And it shall be if the wicked man

הָֽרָשָׁ֑ע

shall cause him to lie down

וְהִפִּיל֤וֹ

that the judge

הַשֹּׁפֵט֙

and to be beaten

וְהִכָּ֣הוּ

before his face

לְפָנָ֔יו

according

כְּדֵ֥י

to his fault

רִשְׁעָת֖וֹ

by a certain number

בְּמִסְפָּֽר׃

Forty

אַרְבָּעִ֥ים

and beat

לְהַכֹּת֤וֹ

 

לֹ֣א

he may give him and not exceed

יֹסִ֨יף

 

פֶּן

he may give him and not exceed

אֵ֙לֶּה֙

and perform the duty of an husband's brother

וְיִבְּמָֽהּ׃

 

וְהָיָ֗ה

And it shall be that the firstborn

הַבְּכוֹר֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which she beareth

תֵּלֵ֔ד

shall succeed

יָק֕וּם

 

עַל

in the name

שְׁמ֖וֹ

of his brother

אָחִ֖יו

which is dead

הַמֵּ֑ת

 

וְלֹֽא

be not put out

יִמָּחֶ֥ה

in the name

שְׁמ֖וֹ

of Israel

מִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

 

וְאִם

 

לֹ֤א

יַחְפֹּץ֙

And if the man

הָאִ֔ישׁ

not to take

לָקַ֖חַת

 

אֶת

יְבִמְתּ֨וֹ

go up

וְעָֽלְתָה֩

his brother's wife

יְבִמְתּ֨וֹ

to the gate

הַשַּׁ֜עְרָה

 

אֶל

unto the elders

הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים

and say

וְאָֽמְרָה֙

refuseth

מֵאֵ֨ן

My husband's brother

יְבָמִ֜י

to raise up

לְהָקִ֨ים

unto his brother

לְאָחִ֥יו

a name

שֵׁם֙

in Israel

בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

 

לֹ֥א

he will

אָבָ֖ה

not perform the duty of my husband's brother

יַבְּמִֽי׃

shall call

וְקָֽרְאוּ

Then the elders

זִקְנֵֽי

of his city

עִיר֖וֹ

him and speak

וְדִבְּר֣וּ

 

אֵלָ֑יו

unto him and if he stand

וְעָמַ֣ד

to it and say

וְאָמַ֔ר

 

לֹ֥א

I like

חָפַ֖צְתִּי

not to take

לְקַחְתָּֽהּ׃

come

וְנִגְּשָׁ֨ה

Then shall his brother's wife

יְבִמְתּ֣וֹ

 

אֵלָיו֮

unto him in the presence

לְעֵינֵ֣י

of the elders

הַזְּקֵנִים֒

and loose

וְחָֽלְצָ֤ה

his shoe

נַֽעֲלוֹ֙

 

מֵעַ֣ל

from off his foot

רַגְל֔וֹ

and spit

וְיָֽרְקָ֖ה

in his face

בְּפָנָ֑יו

and shall answer

וְעָֽנְתָה֙

and say

וְאָ֣מְרָ֔ה

 

כָּ֚כָה

So shall it be done

יֵֽעָשֶׂ֣ה

unto that man

לָאִ֔ישׁ

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

 

לֹֽא

that will not build up

יִבְנֶ֖ה

אֹ֨יְבֶ֜יךָ

מִסָּבִ֗יב

in the land

בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

Therefore it shall be when the LORD

יְהוָֽה

thy God

אֱ֠לֹהֶיךָ

giveth

נֹתֵ֨ן

 

לְךָ֤

thee for an inheritance

נַֽחֲלָה֙

to possess

לְרִשְׁתָּ֔הּ

it that thou shalt blot out

תִּמְחֶה֙

 

אֶת

the remembrance

זֵ֣כֶר

of Amalek

עֲמָלֵ֔ק

 

מִתַּ֖חַת

from under heaven

הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם

 

לֹ֖א

thou shalt not forget

תִּשְׁכָּֽח׃
