He took his brother

and by his strength

וּבְאוֹנ֖וֹ

over the angel

מַלְאָךְ֙

וַיֻּכָ֔ל

and made supplication

Therefore turn

תָשׁ֑וּב

mercy

חֶ֤סֶד

and judgment

וּמִשְׁפָּט֙

keep

שְׁמֹ֔ר

and wait

וְקַוֵּ֥ה

 

אֶל

on thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ

continually

תָּמִֽיד׃

He is a merchant

כְּנַ֗עַן

are in his hand

בְּיָד֛וֹ

the balances

מֹאזְנֵ֥י

of deceit

מִרְמָ֖ה

to oppress

לַעֲשֹׁ֥ק

he loveth

אָהֵֽב׃

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

And Ephraim

אֶפְרַ֔יִם

 

אַ֣ךְ

Yet I am become rich

עָשַׁ֔רְתִּי

I have found me out

יִמְצְאוּ

substance

א֖וֹן

כָּל

in all my labours

יְגִיעַ֕י

 

לֹ֥א

I have found me out

יִמְצְאוּ

 

לִ֖י

none iniquity

עָוֹ֥ן

 

אֲשֶׁר

in me that were sin

חֵֽטְא׃

 

וְאָנֹכִ֛י

And I that am the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ

from the land

מֵאֶ֣רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרָ֑יִם

 

עֹ֛ד

will yet make thee to dwell

אוֹשִֽׁיבְךָ֥

in tabernacles

בָאֳהָלִ֖ים

as in the days

כִּימֵ֥י

of the solemn feast

מוֹעֵֽד׃

I have also spoken

וְדִבַּ֙רְתִּי֙

 

עַל

by the prophets

הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים

 

וְאָנֹכִ֖י

visions

חָז֣וֹן

and I have multiplied

הִרְבֵּ֑יתִי

by the ministry

וּבְיַ֥ד

by the prophets

הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים

and used similitudes

אֲדַמֶּֽה׃

 

אִם

in Gilead

גִּלְעָ֥ד

Is there iniquity

אָ֙וֶן֙

 

אַךְ

surely they are vanity

שָׁ֣וְא

 

הָי֔וּ

in Gilgal

בַּגִּלְגָּ֖ל

bullocks

שְׁוָרִ֣ים

they sacrifice

זִבֵּ֑חוּ

 

גַּ֤ם

yea their altars

מִזְבְּחוֹתָם֙

are as heaps

כְּגַלִּ֔ים

 

עַ֖ל

in the furrows

תַּלְמֵ֥י

of the fields

שָׂדָֽי׃

fled

וַיִּבְרַ֥ח

And Jacob

יַעֲקֹ֖ב

into the country

שְׂדֵ֣ה

of Syria

אֲרָ֑ם

served

וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ד

and Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

and for a wife

וּבְאִשָּׁ֖ה

and for a wife

וּבְאִשָּׁ֖ה

he kept

שָׁמָֽר׃

And by a prophet

וּבְנָבִ֖יא

brought

הֶעֱלָ֧ה

the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

out of Egypt

מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם

And by a prophet

וּבְנָבִ֖יא

was he preserved

נִשְׁמָֽר׃

provoked him to anger

הִכְעִ֥יס

Ephraim

אֶפְרַ֖יִם

most bitterly

תַּמְרוּרִ֑ים

his blood

וְדָמָיו֙

 

עָלָ֣יו

therefore shall he leave

יִטּ֔וֹשׁ

upon him and his reproach

וְחֶ֨רְפָּת֔וֹ

return

יָשִׁ֥יב

 

ל֖וֹ

 

אֲדֹנָֽיו׃
