The mighty man

גִּבּ֖וֹר

the judge

שׁוֹפֵ֥ט

and the prophet

וְנָבִ֖יא

and the prudent

וְקֹסֵ֥ם

and the ancient

וְזָקֵֽן׃

The captain

שַׂר

of fifty

חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים

and the honourable

וּנְשׂ֣וּא

man

פָנִ֑ים

and the counsellor

וְיוֹעֵ֛ץ

and the cunning

וַחֲכַ֥ם

artificer

חֲרָשִׁ֖ים

and the eloquent

וּנְב֥וֹן

orator

לָֽחַשׁ׃

And I will give

וְנָתַתִּ֥י

children

נְעָרִ֖ים

to be their princes

שָׂרֵיהֶ֑ם

and babes

וְתַעֲלוּלִ֖ים

shall rule

יִמְשְׁלוּ

 

בָֽם׃

shall be oppressed

וְנִגַּ֣שׂ

And the people

הָעָ֔ם

and every one

וְאִ֣ישׁ

and every one

וְאִ֣ישׁ

and every one

וְאִ֣ישׁ

by his neighbour

בְּרֵעֵ֑הוּ

shall behave himself proudly

יִרְהֲב֗וּ

the child

הַנַּ֙עַר֙

against the ancient

בַּזָּקֵ֔ן

and the base

וְהַנִּקְלֶ֖ה

against the honourable

בַּנִּכְבָּֽד׃

 

כִּֽי

shall take hold

יִתְפֹּ֨שׂ

When a man

אִ֤ישׁ

of his brother

בְּאָחִיו֙

of the house

בֵּ֣ית

of his father

אָבִ֔יו

saying Thou hast clothing

שִׂמְלָ֣ה

 

לְכָ֔ה

be thou our ruler

קָצִ֖ין

 

תִּֽהְיֶה

 

לָּ֑נוּ

and let this ruin

וְהַמַּכְשֵׁלָ֥ה

 

הַזֹּ֖את

 

תַּ֥חַת

be under thy hand

יָדֶֽךָ׃

shall he swear

יִשָּׂא֩

In that day

בַיּ֨וֹם

 

הַה֤וּא׀

saying

לֵאמֹר֙

 

לֹא

 

אֶהְיֶ֣ה

I will not be an healer

חֹבֵ֔שׁ

for in my house

וּבְבֵיתִ֕י

 

אֵ֥ין

is neither bread

לֶ֖חֶם

 

וְאֵ֣ין

nor clothing

שִׂמְלָ֑ה

 

לֹ֥א

make

תְשִׂימֻ֖נִי

me not a ruler

קְצִ֥ין

of the people

עָֽם׃

 

כִּ֤י

is ruined

כָשְׁלָה֙

For Jerusalem

יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

and Judah

וִיהוּדָ֖ה

is fallen

נָפָ֑ל

 

כִּֽי

because their tongue

לְשׁוֹנָ֤ם

and their doings

וּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶם֙

 

אֶל

are against the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

to provoke

לַמְר֖וֹת

the eyes

עֵנֵ֥י

of his glory

כְבוֹדֽוֹ׃

The shew

הַכָּרַ֤ת

of their countenance

פְּנֵיהֶם֙

doth witness against them

עָ֣נְתָה

 

בָּ֔ם

their sin

וְחַטָּאתָ֛ם

as Sodom

כִּסְדֹ֥ם

and they declare

הִגִּ֖ידוּ

 

לֹ֣א

they hide

כִחֵ֑דוּ

it not Woe

א֣וֹי

unto their soul

לְנַפְשָׁ֔ם

 

כִּֽי

for they have rewarded

גָמְל֥וּ

 

לָהֶ֖ם

evil

רָעָֽה׃

Say

אִמְר֥וּ

ye to the righteous

צַדִּ֖יק

 

כִּי

that it shall be well

ט֑וֹב

 

כִּֽי

the fruit

פְרִ֥י

of their doings

מַעַלְלֵיהֶ֖ם

with him for they shall eat

יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃

Woe

א֖וֹי

unto the wicked

לְרָשָׁ֣ע

it shall be ill

רָ֑ע

 

כִּֽי

with him for the reward

גְמ֥וּל

of his hands

יָדָ֖יו

shall be given

יֵעָ֥שֶׂה

 

לּֽוֹ׃

As for my people

עַמִּי֙

are their oppressors

נֹגְשָׂ֣יו

 

מְעוֹלֵ֔ל

and women

וְנָשִׁ֖ים

rule

מָ֣שְׁלוּ

 

ב֑וֹ

As for my people

עַמִּי֙

they which lead

מְאַשְּׁרֶ֣יךָ

thee cause thee to err

מַתְעִ֔ים

the way

וְדֶ֥רֶךְ

of thy paths

אֹֽרְחֹתֶ֖יךָ

and destroy

בִּלֵּֽעוּ׃

standeth up

נִצָּ֥ב

to plead

לָרִ֖יב

The LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

and standeth

וְעֹמֵ֖ד

to judge

לָדִ֥ין

the people

עַמִּֽים׃

The LORD

יְהוָה֙

into judgment

בְּמִשְׁפָּ֣ט

will enter

יָב֔וֹא

 

עִם

with the ancients

זִקְנֵ֥י

of his people

עַמּ֖וֹ

and the princes

וְשָׂרָ֑יו

 

וְאַתֶּם֙

thereof for ye have eaten up

בִּֽעַרְתֶּ֣ם

the vineyard

הַכֶּ֔רֶם

the spoil

גְּזֵלַ֥ת

of the poor

הֶֽעָנִ֖י

is in your houses

בְּבָתֵּיכֶֽם׃

 

מַלָּכֶם֙

What mean ye that ye beat

תְּדַכְּא֣וּ

my people

עַמִּ֔י

the faces

וּפְנֵ֥י

of the poor

עֲנִיִּ֖ים

and grind

תִּטְחָ֑נוּ

saith

נְאֻם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

GOD

יְהוִ֖ה

of hosts

צְבָאֽוֹת׃

saith

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

Moreover the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

Because

יַ֚עַן

 

כִּ֤י

are haughty

גָֽבְהוּ֙

the daughters

בְּנ֣וֹת

of Zion

צִיּ֔וֹן

walking

תֵּלַ֔כְנָה

with stretched forth

נְטוּוֹ֣ת

necks

גָּר֔וֹן

and wanton

וּֽמְשַׂקְּר֖וֹת

eyes

עֵינָ֑יִם

walking

תֵּלַ֔כְנָה

and mincing

וְטָפֹף֙

walking

תֵּלַ֔כְנָה

with their feet

וּבְרַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם

and making a tinkling

תְּעַכַּֽסְנָה׃

will smite with a scab

וְשִׂפַּ֣ח

Therefore the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֔י

the crown of the head

קָדְקֹ֖ד

of the daughters

בְּנ֣וֹת

of Zion

צִיּ֑וֹן

and the LORD

וַיהוָ֖ה

their secret parts

פָּתְהֵ֥ן

will discover

יְעָרֶֽה׃

In that day

בַּיּ֨וֹם

 

הַה֜וּא

will take away

יָסִ֣יר

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֗י

 

אֵ֣ת

the bravery

תִּפְאֶ֧רֶת

of their tinkling ornaments

הָעֲכָסִ֛ים

about their feet and their cauls

וְהַשְּׁבִיסִ֖ים

and their round tires like the moon

וְהַשַּׂהֲרֹנִֽים׃

The chains

הַנְּטִפ֥וֹת

and the bracelets

וְהַשֵּׁיר֖וֹת

and the mufflers

וְהָֽרְעָלֽוֹת׃

The bonnets

הַפְּאֵרִ֤ים

and the ornaments of the legs

וְהַצְּעָדוֹת֙

and the headbands

וְהַקִּשֻּׁרִ֔ים

 

וּבָתֵּ֥י

and the tablets

הַנֶּ֖פֶשׁ

and the earrings

וְהַלְּחָשִֽׁים׃

The rings

הַטַּבָּע֖וֹת

jewels

וְנִזְמֵ֥י

and nose

הָאָֽף׃

The changeable suits of apparel

הַמַּֽחֲלָצוֹת֙

and the mantles

וְהַמַּ֣עֲטָפ֔וֹת

and the wimples

וְהַמִּטְפָּח֖וֹת

and the crisping pins

וְהָחֲרִיטִֽים׃

The glasses

וְהַגִּלְיֹנִים֙

and the fine linen

וְהַסְּדִינִ֔ים

and the hoods

וְהַצְּנִיפ֖וֹת

and the vails

וְהָרְדִידִֽים׃

 

וְהָיָה֩

 

תַ֨חַת

And it shall come to pass that instead of sweet smell

בֹּ֜שֶׂם

there shall be stink

מַ֣ק

 

יִֽהְיֶ֗ה

 

וְתַ֨חַת

and instead of a girdle

חֲגוֹרָ֤ה

a rent

נִקְפָּה֙

 

וְתַ֨חַת

and instead of well set

מַעֲשֶׂ֤ה

hair

מִקְשֶׁה֙

baldness

קָרְחָ֔ה

 

וְתַ֥חַת

and instead of a stomacher

פְּתִיגִ֖יל

a girding

מַחֲגֹ֣רֶת

of sackcloth

שָׂ֑ק

and burning

כִּי

 

תַ֖חַת

instead of beauty

יֹֽפִי׃

Thy men

מְתַ֖יִךְ

by the sword

בַּחֶ֣רֶב

shall fall

יִפֹּ֑לוּ

and thy mighty

וּגְבוּרָתֵ֖ךְ

in the war

בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

shall lament

וְאָנ֥וּ

and mourn

וְאָבְל֖וּ

And her gates

פְּתָחֶ֑יהָ

and she being desolate

וְנִקָּ֖תָה

upon the ground

לָאָ֥רֶץ

shall sit

תֵּשֵֽׁב׃
