The isles

אִיִּים֙

it and feared

וְיִירָ֔אוּ

the ends

קְצ֥וֹת

of the earth

הָאָ֖רֶץ

were afraid

יֶחֱרָ֑דוּ

drew near

קָרְב֖וּ

and came

וַיֶּאֱתָיֽוּן׃

every one

אִ֥ישׁ

his neighbour

רֵעֵ֖הוּ

They helped

יַעְזֹ֑רוּ

to his brother

וּלְאָחִ֖יו

and every one said

יֹאמַ֥ר

Be of good courage

חֲזָֽק׃

So the carpenter

It is ready

it with nails

that it should not be moved

וְאַתָּה֙

But thou Israel

art my servant

עַבְדִּ֔י

Jacob

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

whom I have chosen

בְּחַרְתִּ֑יךָ

the seed

זֶ֖רַע

of Abraham

אַבְרָהָ֥ם

my friend

אֹהֲבִֽי׃

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

Thou whom I have taken

הֶחֱזַקְתִּ֙יךָ֙

from the ends

מִקְצ֣וֹת

of the earth

הָאָ֔רֶץ

thee from the chief men

וּמֵאֲצִילֶ֖יהָ

and called

קְרָאתִ֑יךָ

thereof and said

וָאֹ֤מַר

 

לְךָ֙

unto thee Thou art my servant

עַבְדִּי

 

אַ֔תָּה

I have chosen

בְּחַרְתִּ֖יךָ

 

וְלֹ֥א

thee and not cast thee away

מְאַסְתִּֽיךָ׃

Fear

תִּירָא֙

 

כִּ֣י

 

עִמְּךָ

 

אָ֔נִי

 

אַל

thou not for I am with thee be not dismayed

תִּשְׁתָּ֖ע

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֣י

for I am thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ

I will strengthen

אִמַּצְתִּ֙יךָ֙

 

אַף

thee yea I will help

עֲזַרְתִּ֔יךָ

תְּמַכְתִּ֖יךָ

thee with the right hand

בִּימִ֥ין

of my righteousness

צִדְקִֽי׃

 

הֵ֤ן

against thee shall be ashamed

יֵבֹ֙שׁוּ֙

and confounded

וְיִכָּ֣לְמ֔וּ

 

כֹּ֖ל

Behold all they that were incensed

הַנֶּחֱרִ֣ים

 

בָּ֑ךְ

 

יִֽהְי֥וּ

 

כְאַ֛יִן

with thee shall perish

וְיֹאבְד֖וּ

 

אַנְשֵׁ֥י

that strive

רִיבֶֽךָ׃

Thou shalt seek

תְּבַקְשֵׁם֙

 

וְלֹ֣א

them and shalt not find

תִמְצָאֵ֔ם

 

אַנְשֵׁ֖י

that contended

מַצֻּתֶ֑ךָ

 

יִהְי֥וּ

 

כְאַ֛יִן

against thee shall be as nothing and as a thing of nought

וּכְאֶ֖פֶס

 

אַנְשֵׁ֥י

with thee they that war

מִלְחַמְתֶּֽךָ׃

 

כִּ֗י

 

אֲנִ֛י

For I the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ

will hold

מַחֲזִ֣יק

thy right hand

יְמִינֶ֑ךָ

saying

הִנֵּ֣ה

Behold I will make

תָּשִֽׂים׃

threshing

לְמוֹרַג֙

sharp

חָר֣וּץ

thee a new

חָדָ֔שׁ

instrument having

בַּ֖עַל

teeth

פִּֽיפִיּ֑וֹת

thou shalt thresh

תָּד֤וּשׁ

the mountains

הָרִים֙

and beat them small

וְתָדֹ֔ק

the hills

וּגְבָע֖וֹת

as chaff

כַּמֹּ֥ץ

Behold I will make

תָּשִֽׂים׃

Thou shalt fan

תִּזְרֵם֙

them and the wind

וְר֣וּחַ

shall carry them away

תִּשָּׂאֵ֔ם

and the whirlwind

וּסְעָרָ֖ה

shall scatter

תָּפִ֣יץ

 

אוֹתָ֑ם

 

וְאַתָּה֙

them and thou shalt rejoice

תָּגִ֣יל

in the LORD

בַּֽיהוָ֔ה

in the Holy One

בִּקְד֥וֹשׁ

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

and shalt glory

תִּתְהַלָּֽל׃

When the poor

הָעֲנִיִּ֨ים

and needy

וְהָאֶבְיוֹנִ֜ים

seek

מְבַקְשִׁ֥ים

water

מַ֙יִם֙

 

וָאַ֔יִן

and there is none and their tongue

לְשׁוֹנָ֖ם

for thirst

בַּצָּמָ֣א

faileth

נָשָׁ֑תָּה

 

אֲנִ֤י

I the LORD

יְהוָה֙

will hear

אֶעֱנֵ֔ם

them I the God

אֱלֹהֵ֥י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

 

לֹ֥א

will not forsake

אֶעֶזְבֵֽם׃

I will open

אֶפְתַּ֤ח

 

עַל

in high places

שְׁפָיִים֙

rivers

נְהָר֔וֹת

in the midst

וּבְת֥וֹךְ

of the valleys

בְּקָע֖וֹת

and fountains

מַעְיָנ֑וֹת

I will make

אָשִׂ֤ים

the wilderness

מִדְבָּר֙

a pool

לַאֲגַם

of water

מָֽיִם׃

land

וְאֶ֥רֶץ

and the dry

צִיָּ֖ה

springs

לְמוֹצָ֥אֵי

of water

מָֽיִם׃

I will plant

אֶתֵּ֤ן

in the wilderness

בַּמִּדְבָּר֙

the cedar

אֶ֣רֶז

the shittah tree

שִׁטָּ֔ה

and the myrtle

וַהֲדַ֖ס

tree

וְעֵ֣ץ

and the oil

שָׁ֑מֶן

I will set

אָשִׂ֣ים

in the desert

בָּעֲרָבָ֗ה

the fir tree

בְּר֛וֹשׁ

and the pine

תִּדְהָ֥ר

and the box tree

וּתְאַשּׁ֖וּר

together

יַחְדָּֽו׃

 

לְמַ֧עַן

That they may see

יִרְא֣וּ

and know

וְיֵדְע֗וּ

and consider

וְיָשִׂ֤ימוּ

and understand

וְיַשְׂכִּ֙ילוּ֙

together

יַחְדָּ֔ו

 

כִּ֥י

that the hand

יַד

of the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

hath done

עָ֣שְׂתָה

 

זֹּ֑את

this and the Holy One

וּקְד֥וֹשׁ

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

hath created

בְּרָאָֽהּ׃

Produce

קָרְב֥וּ

your cause

רִֽיבְכֶ֖ם

reasons saith

יֹאמַ֖ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

bring forth

הַגִּ֙ישׁוּ֙

your strong

עֲצֻמ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם

reasons saith

יֹאמַ֖ר

the King

מֶ֥לֶךְ

of Jacob

יַעֲקֹֽב׃

Let them bring them forth

יַגִּ֙ישׁוּ֙

and shew

הַגִּ֜ידוּ

 

לָ֔נוּ

 

אֵ֖ת

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

us what shall happen

תִּקְרֶ֑ינָה

the former things

הָרִאשֹׁנ֣וֹת׀

הֵ֗נָּה

and shew

הַגִּ֜ידוּ

what they be that we may consider

וְנָשִׂ֤ימָה

 

לִבֵּ֙נוּ֙

them and know

וְנֵדְעָ֣ה

the latter end

Shew

הַגִּ֙ידוּ֙

the things that are to come

וְנֵ֣דְעָ֔ה

 

כִּ֥י

that ye are gods

אֱלֹהִ֖ים

 

אַתֶּ֑ם

yea do good

תֵּיטִ֣יבוּ

or do evil

וְתָרֵ֔עוּ

that we may be dismayed

וְנִשְׁתָּ֖עָה

and behold

וְנִרְאֶ֥

it together

יַחְדָּֽו׃

 

הֵן

 

אַתֶּ֣ם

Behold ye are of nothing

מֵאַ֔יִן

and your work

וּפָעָלְכֶ֖ם

of nought

מֵאָ֑פַע

an abomination

תּוֹעֵבָ֖ה

is he that chooseth

יִבְחַ֥ר

 

בָּכֶֽם׃

I have raised up

הַעִיר֤וֹתִי

one from the north

מִצָּפוֹן֙

and he shall come

וַיַּ֔את

from the rising

מִמִּזְרַח

of the sun

שֶׁ֖מֶשׁ

shall he call

יִקְרָ֣א

upon my name

בִשְׁמִ֑י

and he shall come

וְיָבֹ֤א

upon princes

סְגָנִים֙

 

כְּמוֹ

as upon morter

חֹ֔מֶר

 

וּכְמ֥וֹ

and as the potter

יוֹצֵ֖ר

treadeth

יִרְמָס

Who hath declared

מַגִּ֗יד

from the beginning

מֵרֹאשׁ֙

that we may know

וְנֵדָ֔עָה

and beforetime

וּמִלְּפָנִ֖ים

that we may say

וְנֹאמַ֣ר

He is righteous

צַדִּ֑יק

Who hath declared

מַגִּ֗יד

אִמְרֵיכֶֽם׃

The first

רִאשׁ֥וֹן

shall say to Zion

לְצִיּ֖וֹן

Behold

הִנֵּ֣ה

 

הִנָּ֑ם

to Jerusalem

וְלִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

one that bringeth good tidings

מְבַשֵּׂ֥ר

them and I will give

אֶתֵּֽן׃

For I beheld

וְאֵ֙רֶא֙

 

וְאֵ֣ין

and there was no man

אִ֔ישׁ

 

וּמֵאֵ֖לֶּה

 

וְאֵ֣ין

even among them and there was no counsellor

יוֹעֵ֑ץ

that when I asked

וְאֶשְׁאָלֵ֖ם

of them could answer

וְיָשִׁ֥יבוּ

a word

דָבָֽר׃

 

הֵ֣ן

 

כֻּלָּ֔ם

Behold they are all vanity

אָ֥וֶן

are nothing

אֶ֖פֶס

their works

מַעֲשֵׂיהֶ֑ם

are wind

ר֥וּחַ

and confusion

וָתֹ֖הוּ

their molten images

נִסְכֵּיהֶֽם׃
