בְּטֶ֙רֶם֙

shall have knowledge

יֵדַ֣ע

For before the child

הַנַּ֔עַר

to cry

קְרֹ֖א

My father

אָבִ֣י

and my mother

וְאִמִּ֑י

shall be taken away

יִשָּׂ֣א׀

 

אֶת

the riches

חֵ֣יל

of Damascus

דַּמֶּ֗שֶׂק

 

וְאֵת֙

and the spoil

שְׁלַ֣ל

of Samaria

שֹׁמְר֔וֹן

before

לִפְנֵ֖י

the king

מֶ֥לֶךְ

of Assyria

אַשּֽׁוּר׃

also unto me again

וַיֹּ֣סֶף

The LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

spake

דַּבֵּ֥ר

 

אֵלַ֛י

 

ע֖וֹד

saying

לֵאמֹֽר׃

Forasmuch

יַ֗עַן

 

כִּ֤י

refuseth

מָאַס֙

as this people

הָעָ֣ם

 

הַזֶּ֔ה

the waters

מֵ֣י

of Shiloah

הַשִּׁלֹ֔חַ

that go

הַהֹלְכִ֖ים

softly

לְאַ֑ט

and rejoice

וּמְשׂ֥וֹשׂ

in Rezin

רְצִ֖ין

וּבֶן

and Remaliah's

רְמַלְיָֽהוּ׃

 

וְלָכֵ֡ן

 

הִנֵּ֣ה

Now therefore behold the Lord

אֲדֹנָי֩

and he shall come up

וְעָלָה֙

 

עֲלֵיהֶ֜ם

upon them the waters

of the river

הַנָּהָ֗ר

strong

הָעֲצוּמִים֙

and many

וְהָ֣רַבִּ֔ים

and all his glory

כְּבוֹד֑וֹ

and he shall come up

וְעָלָה֙

גְּדוֹתָֽיו׃

And he shall pass

through Judah

he shall reach

in the way

בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ

of this people

saying

לֵאמֹֽר׃

Say

A confederacy

קָ֑שֶׁר

אֲשֶׁר

to all them to whom this people

הָעָ֥ם

 

הַזֶּ֖ה

A confederacy

וְאֶת

ye their fear

מוֹרָא֥וֹ

 

לֹֽא

neither fear

תִֽירְא֖וּ

 

וְלֹ֥א

nor be afraid

תַעֲרִֽיצוּ׃

of hosts

Sanctify

תַקְדִּ֑ישׁוּ

himself and let him be your fear

And he shall be for a sanctuary

לִשְׁנֵ֨י

וּלְמוֹקֵ֔שׁ

to the inhabitants

לְיוֹשֵׁ֖ב

of Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

among them shall stumble

וְכָ֥שְׁלוּ

And many

רַבִּ֑ים

and fall

וְנָפְל֣וּ

and be broken

וְנִשְׁבָּ֔רוּ

and be snared

וְנוֹקְשׁ֖וּ

and be taken

וְנִלְכָּֽדוּ׃

Bind up

צ֖וֹר

the testimony

תְּעוּדָ֑ה

seal

חֲת֥וֹם

the law

תּוֹרָ֖ה

among my disciples

בְּלִמֻּדָֽי׃

And I will wait

וְחִכִּ֙יתִי֙

upon the LORD

לַיהוָ֔ה

that hideth

הַמַּסְתִּ֥יר

his face

פָּנָ֖יו

from the house

מִבֵּ֣ית

of Jacob

יַעֲקֹ֑ב

and I will look

וְקִוֵּ֖יתִֽי

הִנֵּ֣ה

 

אָנֹכִ֗י

Behold I and the children

וְהַיְלָדִים֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

hath given

נָֽתַן

 

לִ֣י

from the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

me are for signs

לְאֹת֥וֹת

and for wonders

וּלְמוֹפְתִ֖ים

in Israel

בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

 

מֵעִם֙

from the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

of hosts

צְבָא֔וֹת

which dwelleth

הַשֹּׁכֵ֖ן

in mount

בְּהַ֥ר

Zion

צִיּֽוֹן׃

 

וְכִֽי

And when they shall say

יֹאמְר֣וּ

 

אֲלֵיכֶ֗ם

seek

יִדְרֹ֔שׁ

 

אֶל

unto them that have familiar spirits

הָאֹבוֹת֙

 

וְאֶל

and unto wizards

הַיִּדְּעֹנִ֔ים

that peep

הַֽמְצַפְצְפִ֖ים

and that mutter

וְהַמַּהְגִּ֑ים

 

הֲלוֹא

should not a people

עַם֙

 

אֶל

unto their God

אֱלֹהָ֣יו

seek

יִדְרֹ֔שׁ

 

בְּעַ֥ד

for the living

הַחַיִּ֖ים

 

אֶל

to the dead

הַמֵּתִֽים׃

To the law

לְתוֹרָ֖ה

and to the testimony

וְלִתְעוּדָ֑ה

 

אִם

 

לֹ֤א

if they speak

יֹֽאמְרוּ֙

not according to this word

כַּדָּבָ֣ר

 

הַזֶּ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

 

אֵֽין

 

ל֖וֹ

it is because there is no light

שָֽׁחַר׃

And they shall pass

וְעָ֥בַר

 

בָּ֖הּ

through it hardly bestead

נִקְשֶׁ֣ה

and hungry

וְרָעֵ֑ב

 

וְהָיָ֨ה

 

כִֽי

and it shall come to pass that when they shall be hungry

יִרְעַ֜ב

they shall fret

וְהִתְקַצַּ֗ף

themselves and curse

וְקִלֵּ֧ל

their king

בְּמַלְכּ֛וֹ

and their God

וּבֵאלֹהָ֖יו

and look

וּפָנָ֥ה

upward

לְמָֽעְלָה׃

 

וְאֶל

unto the earth

אֶ֖רֶץ

And they shall look

יַבִּ֑יט

 

וְהִנֵּ֨ה

and behold trouble

צָרָ֤ה

and darkness

וַחֲשֵׁכָה֙

dimness

מְע֣וּף

of anguish

צוּקָ֔ה

to darkness

וַאֲפֵלָ֖ה

and they shall be driven

מְנֻדָּֽח׃
