אֲשֶׁ֣ר

me the poison

חֲ֭מָתָם

whereof drinketh up

שֹׁתָ֣ה

my spirit

רוּחִ֑י

the terrors

בִּֽעוּתֵ֖י

of God

אֱל֣וֹהַּ

do set themselves in array

יַֽעַרְכֽוּנִי׃

bray

הֲיִֽנְהַק

Doth the wild ass

פֶּ֥רֶא

 

עֲלֵי

when he hath grass

דֶ֑שֶׁא

 

אִ֥ם

or loweth

יִגְעֶה

the ox

שּׁ֝֗וֹר

 

עַל

over his fodder

בְּלִילֽוֹ׃

be eaten

הֲיֵֽאָכֵ֣ל

Can that which is unsavoury

תָּ֭פֵל

 

מִבְּלִי

without salt

מֶ֑לַח

 

אִם

יֶשׁ

טַ֝֗עַם

בְּרִ֣יר

חַלָּמֽוּת׃

לִנְגּ֣וֹעַ

The things that my soul

נַפְשִׁ֑י

 

הֵ֝֗מָּה

are as my sorrowful

כִּדְוֵ֥י

יִתֵּ֥ן

Oh that I might have

תָּב֣וֹא

my request

שֶֽׁאֱלָתִ֑י

me the thing that I long for

וְ֝תִקְוָתִ֗י

יִתֵּ֥ן

and that God

אֱלֽוֹהַּ׃

Even that it would please

וְיֹאֵ֣ל

אֱ֭לוֹהַּ

to destroy

וִֽידַכְּאֵ֑נִי

me that he would let loose

יַתֵּ֥ר

his hand

יָ֝ד֗וֹ

and cut me off

וִֽיבַצְּעֵֽנִי׃

 

וּ֥תְהִי

 

ע֨וֹד׀

Then should I yet have comfort

נֶ֘חָ֤מָתִ֗י

yea I would harden

וַֽאֲסַלְּדָ֣ה

myself in sorrow

בְ֭חִילָה

 

לֹ֣א

let him not spare

יַחְמ֑וֹל

 

כִּי

 

לֹ֥א

for I have not concealed

כִ֝חַ֗דְתִּי

אִמְרֵ֥י

of the Holy One

קָדֽוֹשׁ׃

What is my strength

יַֽעֲזֽוֹב׃

My brethren

אַ֭חַי

have dealt deceitfully

בָּֽגְד֣וּ

 

כְמוֹ

as a brook

נְחָלִ֣ים

and as the stream

כַּֽאֲפִ֖יק

as a brook

נְחָלִ֣ים

they pass away

יַֽעֲבֹֽרוּ׃

Which are blackish

הַקֹּֽדְרִ֥ים

 

מִנִּי

by reason of the ice

קָ֑רַח

 

עָ֝לֵ֗ימוֹ

is hid

יִתְעַלֶּם

and wherein the snow

שָֽׁלֶג׃

What time

בְּעֵ֣ת

they wax warm

יְזֹֽרְב֣וּ

they vanish

נִצְמָ֑תוּ

when it is hot

בְּ֝חֻמּ֗וֹ

they are consumed out

נִדְעֲכ֥וּ

of their place

מִמְּקוֹמָֽם׃

are turned aside

יִ֭לָּ֣פְתוּ

The paths

אָרְח֣וֹת

of their way

דַּרְכָּ֑ם

they go

יַֽעֲל֖וּ

to nothing

בַתֹּ֣הוּ

and perish

וְיֹאבֵֽדוּ׃

looked

הִ֭בִּיטוּ

The troops

אָרְח֣וֹת
