my foolishness

לְאִוַּלְתִּ֑י

and my sins

וְ֝אַשְׁמוֹתַ֗י

 

מִמְּךָ֥

 

לֹא

are not hid

נִכְחָֽדוּ׃

 

אַל

be ashamed

יֵ֘בֹ֤שׁוּ

 

בִ֨י׀

Let not them that wait

קוֶֹיךָ֮

on thee O Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

GOD

יְהוִ֗ה

of hosts

צְבָ֫א֥וֹת

 

אַל

thee be confounded

יִכָּ֣לְמוּ

 

בִ֣י

for my sake let not those that seek

מְבַקְשֶׁ֑יךָ

for my sake O God

אֱ֝לֹהֵ֗י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

 

כִּֽי

 

עָ֭לֶיךָ

Because for thy sake I have borne

נָשָׂ֣אתִי

reproach

חֶרְפָּ֑ה

hath covered

כִּסְּתָ֖ה

shame

כְלִמָּ֣ה

my face

פָנָֽי׃

I am become a stranger

מ֭וּזָר

 

הָיִ֣יתִי

unto my brethren

לְאֶחָ֑י

and an alien

וְ֝נָכְרִ֗י

children

לִבְנֵ֥י

unto my mother's

אִמִּֽי׃

 

כִּֽי

For the zeal

קִנְאַ֣ת

of thine house

בֵּיתְךָ֣

hath eaten me up

אֲכָלָ֑תְנִי

and the reproaches

וְחֶרְפּ֥וֹת

of them that reproached

ח֝וֹרְפֶ֗יךָ

thee are fallen

נָפְל֥וּ

 

עָלָֽי׃

When I wept

וָאֶבְכֶּ֣ה

with fasting

בַצּ֣וֹם

and chastened my soul

נַפְשִׁ֑י

 

וַתְּהִ֖י

that was to my reproach

לַחֲרָפ֣וֹת

 

לִֽי׃

I made

וָאֶתְּנָ֣ה

also my garment

לְבוּשִׁ֣י

sackcloth

שָׂ֑ק

 

וָאֱהִ֖י

 

לָהֶ֣ם

and I became a proverb

לְמָשָֽׁל׃

speak

יָשִׂ֣יחוּ

 

בִ֭י

They that sit in

יֹ֣שְׁבֵי

the gate

שָׁ֑עַר

against me and I was the song

וּ֝נְגִינ֗וֹת

of the drunkards

שׁוֹתֵ֥י

 

שֵׁכָֽר׃

 

וַאֲנִ֤י

But as for me my prayer

תְפִלָּתִֽי

 

לְךָ֙׀

is unto thee O LORD

יְהוָ֡ה

עֵ֤ת

in an acceptable

רָצ֗וֹן

O God

אֱלֹהִ֥ים

in the multitude

בְּרָב

of thy mercy

חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ

hear

עֲ֝נֵ֗נִי

me in the truth

בֶּאֱמֶ֥ת

of thy salvation

יִשְׁעֶֽךָ׃

Deliver

אִנָּצְלָ֥ה

me out of the mire

מִ֭טִּיט

 

וְאַל

and let me not sink

אֶטְבָּ֑עָה

from them that hate

מִ֝שֹּֽׂנְאַ֗י

me and out of the deep

וּמִמַּ֖עֲמַקֵּי

Let not the waterflood

and let not the pit

Hear

עֲנֵ֣נִי

me O LORD

for thy lovingkindness

חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ

unto me according to the multitude

of thy tender mercies

And hide

תַּסְתֵּ֣ר

not thy face

for I am in trouble

עֲנֵֽנִי׃

Draw nigh

and redeem

me because of mine enemies

Thou hast known

יָדַ֗עְתָּ

my reproach

חֶרְפָּתִ֣י

and my shame

וּ֭בָשְׁתִּי

and my dishonour

וּכְלִמָּתִ֑י

 

נֶ֝גְדְּךָ֗

mine adversaries

Reproach

חֶרְפָּ֤ה׀

and I am full of heaviness

וָֽאָ֫נ֥וּשָׁה

and I looked

וָאֲקַוֶּ֣ה

for some to take pity

לָנ֣וּד

but there was none and for comforters

וְ֝לַמְנַחֲמִ֗ים

 

וְלֹ֣א

but I found

מָצָֽאתִי׃

They gave

וַיִּתְּנ֣וּ

for my meat

בְּבָרוּתִ֣י

me also gall

רֹ֑אשׁ

and in my thirst

וְ֝לִצְמָאִ֗י

to drink

יַשְׁק֥וּנִי

they gave me vinegar

חֹֽמֶץ׃

Let their table

שֻׁלְחָנָ֣ם

before

לִפְנֵיהֶ֣ם

become a snare

לְפָ֑ח

them and that which should have been for their welfare

וְלִשְׁלוֹמִ֥ים

let it become a trap

לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃

be darkened

תֶּחְשַׁ֣כְנָה

Let their eyes

עֵ֭ינֵיהֶם

that they see

מֵרְא֑וֹת

not and make their loins

וּ֝מָתְנֵיהֶ֗ם

continually

תָּמִ֥יד

to shake

הַמְעַֽד׃

Pour out

שְׁפָךְ

 

עֲלֵיהֶ֥ם

thine indignation

זַעְמֶ֑ךָ

upon them and let thy wrathful

Let their habitation

טִֽירָתָ֥ם

him whom thou hast smitten

מַכְא֖וֹב

of those whom thou hast wounded

חֲלָלֶ֣יךָ

and they talk

יְסַפֵּֽרוּ׃

וַ֭אֲנִי

But I am poor

עָנִ֣י

and sorrowful

וְכוֹאֵ֑ב

let thy salvation

יְשׁוּעָתְךָ֖

O God

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

set me up on high

תְּשַׂגְּבֵֽנִי׃

I will praise

אֲהַֽלְלָ֣ה

the name

שֵׁם

of God

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

with a song

בְּשִׁ֑יר

and will magnify

וַאֲגַדְּלֶ֥נּוּ

him with thanksgiving

בְתוֹדָֽה׃

This also shall please

וְתִיטַ֣ב

the LORD

לַֽ֭יהוָה

than an ox

מִשּׁ֥וֹר

or bullock

פָּ֗ר

that hath horns

מַקְרִ֥ן

and hoofs

מַפְרִֽיס׃

shall see

רָא֣וּ

The humble

עֲנָוִ֣ים

this and be glad

יִשְׂמָ֑חוּ

that seek

דֹּרְשֵׁ֥י

God

אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים

shall live

וִיחִ֥י

and your heart

לְבַבְכֶֽם׃

 

כִּֽי

heareth

שֹׁמֵ֣עַ

 

אֶל

the poor

אֶבְיוֹנִ֣ים

For the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

וְאֶת

not his prisoners

אֲ֝סִירָ֗יו

 

לֹ֣א

and despiseth

בָזָֽה׃

praise

יְֽ֭הַלְלוּהוּ

Let the heaven

שָׁמַ֣יִם

and earth

וָאָ֑רֶץ

him the seas

יַ֝מִּ֗ים

 

וְֽכָל

and every thing that moveth

רֹמֵ֥שׂ

 

בָּֽם׃

 

כִּ֤י

For God

אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀

will save

י֘וֹשִׁ֤יעַ

Zion

צִיּ֗וֹן

and will build

וְ֭יִבְנֶה

the cities

עָרֵ֣י

of Judah

יְהוּדָ֑ה

that they may dwell

וְיָ֥שְׁבוּ

 

שָׁ֝֗ם

there and have it in possession

וִירֵשֽׁוּהָ׃

The seed

וְזֶ֣רַע

also of his servants

עֲ֭בָדָיו

shall inherit

יִנְחָל֑וּהָ

it and they that love

וְאֹהֲבֵ֥י

his name

שְׁ֝מ֗וֹ

shall dwell

יִשְׁכְּנוּ

 

בָֽהּ׃
