And I will harden

וְחִזַּקְתִּ֣י

that he shall follow

וְרָדַ֣ף

אַֽחֲרֵיהֶם֒

them and I will be honoured

וְאִכָּֽבְדָ֤ה

And it was told

וַיֻּגַּד֙

לְמֶ֣לֶךְ

of Egypt

מִצְרַ֔יִם

 

כִּ֥י

fled

בָרַ֖ח

against the people

הָעָ֔ם

was turned

וַ֠יֵּֽהָפֵךְ

and the heart

לְבַ֨ב

of Pharaoh

פַּרְעֹ֤ה

and of his servants

וַֽעֲבָדָיו֙

 

אֶל

against the people

הָעָ֔ם

and they said

וַיֹּֽאמרוּ֙

Why have we done

עָשִׂ֔ינוּ

עַמּ֖וֹ

and took

עִמּֽוֹ׃

And when Pharaoh

וַיִּשְׂאוּ֩

their eyes

עֵֽינֵיהֶ֜ם

 

וְהִנֵּ֥ה

and behold the Egyptians

מִצְרַ֣יִם׀

marched

נֹסֵ֣עַ

אַֽחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם

afraid

וַיִּֽירְאוּ֙

them and they were sore

מְאֹ֔ד

cried out

וַיִּצְעֲק֥וּ

and the children

בְנֵֽי

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

unto the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

And they said

וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֮

unto Moses

מֹשֶׁה֒

 

הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י

Because there were no graves

קְבָרִים֙

in Egypt

מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

hast thou taken us away

לְקַחְתָּ֖נוּ

to die

לָמ֣וּת

in the wilderness

בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר

 

מַה

wherefore

זֹּאת֙

hast thou dealt

עָשִׂ֣יתָ

 

לָּ֔נוּ

thus with us to carry us forth

לְהֽוֹצִיאָ֖נוּ

which he will shew

לָכֶ֖ם

הַיּ֔וֹם

 

כִּ֗י

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

and see

לִרְאֹתָ֥ם

 

אֶת

for the Egyptians

מִצְרַ֙יִם֙

to day

הַיּ֔וֹם

 

לֹ֥א

them again

תֹסִ֛פוּ

and see

לִרְאֹתָ֥ם

 

ע֖וֹד

no more for

עַד

ever

עוֹלָֽם׃

The LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

shall fight

יִלָּחֵ֣ם

 

לָכֶ֑ם

 

וְאַתֶּ֖ם

for you and ye shall hold your peace

תַּֽחֲרִשֽׁוּן׃

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

And the LORD

unto Moses

Wherefore criest

תִּצְעַ֖ק

 

אֵלָ֑י

thou unto me speak

unto the children

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

that they go forward

וְיִסָּֽעוּ׃

 

וְאַתָּ֞ה

But lift thou up

הָרֵ֣ם

 

אֶֽת

thy rod

מַטְּךָ֗

and stretch out

וּנְטֵ֧ה

 

אֶת

thine hand

יָֽדְךָ֛

 

עַל

of the sea

הַיָּ֖ם

and divide

וּבְקָעֵ֑הוּ

shall go

וְיָבֹ֧אוּ

it and the children

בְנֵֽי

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל

ground through the midst

בְּת֥וֹךְ

of the sea

הַיָּ֖ם

on dry

בַּיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃

 

וַֽאֲנִ֗י

 

הִנְנִ֤י

And I behold I will harden

מְחַזֵּק֙

and they shall follow

and I will get me honour

וְיָֽדְע֥וּ

And the Egyptians

מִצְרַ֖יִם

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֣י

that I am the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

when I have gotten me honour

בְּהִכָּֽבְדִ֣י

upon Pharaoh

בְּפַרְעֹ֔ה

upon his chariots

בְּרִכְבּ֖וֹ

and upon his horsemen

וּבְפָֽרָשָֽׁיו׃

removed

וַיִּסַּ֞ע

And the angel

מַלְאַ֣ךְ

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים

which went

וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ

before

מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם

the camp

מַֽחֲנֵ֣ה

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

which went

וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ

מֵאַֽחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃

and it was a cloud

הֶֽעָנָן֙

and darkness

וְהַחֹ֔שֶׁךְ

to them but it gave light

וַיָּ֖אֶר

all the night

הַלָּֽיְלָה׃

 

וְלֹֽא

to these so that the one came not near

קָרַ֥ב

And it came to pass that in the morning

הַבֹּ֔קֶר

מַֽחֲנֵ֥ה

of the Egyptians

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

through the pillar

בְּעַמּ֥וּד

of fire

אֵ֖שׁ

and of the cloud

וְעָנָ֑ן

and troubled

וַיָּ֕הָם

 

אֵ֖ת

the host

מַֽחֲנֵ֥ה

of the Egyptians

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

And took off

וַיָּ֗סַר

 

אֵ֚ת

wheels

אֹפַ֣ן

their chariot

מַרְכְּבֹתָ֔יו

that they drave

וַֽיְנַהֲגֵ֖הוּ

them heavily

בִּכְבֵדֻ֑ת

said

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

for them against the Egyptians

בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃

Let us flee

אָנ֙וּסָה֙

from the face

מִפְּנֵ֣י

of Israel
