in approaching

and delight

יֶחְפָּצֽוּן׃

 

לָ֤מָּה

Wherefore have we fasted

צַּ֙מְנוּ֙

 

וְלֹ֣א

say they and thou seest

רָאִ֔יתָ

not wherefore have we afflicted

עִנִּ֥ינוּ

our soul

נַפְשֵׁ֖נוּ

 

וְלֹ֣א

and thou takest no knowledge

תֵדָ֑ע

 

הֵ֣ן

Behold in the day

בְּי֤וֹם

of your fast

צֹֽמְכֶם֙

ye find

תִּמְצְאוּ

pleasure

חֵ֔פֶץ

 

וְכָל

all your labours

עַצְּבֵיכֶ֖ם

and exact

תִּנְגֹּֽשׂוּ׃

for strife

and debate

וּמַצָּה֙

Behold ye fast

and to smite

וּלְהַכּ֖וֹת

בְּאֶגְרֹ֣ף

of wickedness

לְהַשְׁמִ֥יעַ

burdens

אֲגֻדּ֣וֹת

every yoke

מוֹטָ֖ה

go

וְשַׁלַּ֤ח

and to let the oppressed

רְצוּצִים֙

free

חָפְשִׁ֔ים

 

וְכָל

every yoke

מוֹטָ֖ה

and that ye break

תְּנַתֵּֽקוּ׃

 

הֲל֨וֹא

Is it not to deal

פָרֹ֤ס

to the hungry

לָֽרָעֵב֙

thy bread

לַחְמֶ֔ךָ

the poor

וַעֲנִיִּ֥ים

that are cast out

מְרוּדִ֖ים

and that thou bring

תָּ֣בִיא

to thy house

בָ֑יִת

 

כִּֽי

when thou seest

תִרְאֶ֤ה

the naked

עָרֹם֙

that thou cover

וְכִסִּית֔וֹ

not thyself from thine own flesh

וּמִבְּשָׂרְךָ֖

 

לֹ֥א

him and that thou hide

תִתְעַלָּֽם׃

break forth

יִבָּקַ֤ע

as the morning

כַּשַּׁ֙חַר֙

Then shall thy light

אוֹרֶ֔ךָ

and thine health

וַאֲרֻכָתְךָ֖

speedily

מְהֵרָ֣ה

shall spring forth

תִצְמָ֑ח

shall go

וְהָלַ֤ךְ

before

לְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙

and thy righteousness

צִדְקֶ֔ךָ

thee the glory

כְּב֥וֹד

of the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

shall be thy rereward

יַאַסְפֶֽךָ׃

 

אָ֤ז

Then shalt thou call

תִּקְרָא֙

and the LORD

וַיהוָ֣ה

shall answer

יַעֲנֶ֔ה

thou shalt cry

תְּשַׁוַּ֖ע

and he shall say

וְיֹאמַ֣ר

 

הִנֵּ֑נִי

 

אִם

Here I am If thou take away

תָּסִ֤יר

from the midst

מִתּֽוֹכְךָ֙

of thee the yoke

מוֹטָ֔ה

the putting forth

שְׁלַ֥ח

of the finger

אֶצְבַּ֖ע

and speaking

וְדַבֶּר

vanity

אָֽוֶן׃

And if thou draw out

וְתָפֵ֤ק

to the hungry

לָֽרָעֵב֙

soul

וְנֶ֥פֶשׁ

soul

וְנֶ֥פֶשׁ

the afflicted

נַעֲנָ֖ה

and satisfy

תַּשְׂבִּ֑יעַ

rise

וְזָרַ֤ח

in obscurity

בַּחֹ֙שֶׁךְ֙

then shall thy light

אוֹרֶ֔ךָ

and thy darkness

וַאֲפֵלָתְךָ֖

be as the noonday

כַּֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃

shall guide

וְנָחֲךָ֣

And the LORD

יְהוָה֮

thee continually

תָּמִיד֒

and satisfy

וְהִשְׂבִּ֤יעַ

in drought

בְּצַחְצָחוֹת֙

thy soul

נַפְשֶׁ֔ךָ

thy bones

וְעַצְמֹתֶ֖יךָ

and make fat

יַחֲלִ֑יץ

 

וְהָיִ֙יתָ֙

garden

כְּגַ֣ן

and thou shalt be like a watered

רָוֶ֔ה

and like a spring

וּכְמוֹצָ֣א

of water

מֵימָֽיו׃

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

Then shalt thou delight

תִּתְעַנַּג֙

and I will cause thee to ride

וְהִרְכַּבְתִּ֖יךָ

אָ֑רֶץ

and feed

וְהַאֲכַלְתִּ֗יךָ
