And they encamped

וַיַּֽחֲנ֣וּ

 

עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם

against them and destroyed

וַיַּשְׁחִ֙יתוּ֙

the increase

יְב֣וּל

of the earth

הָאָ֔רֶץ

 

עַד

till thou come

בּֽוֹאֲךָ֖

unto Gaza

עַזָּ֑ה

יַֽעֲל֜וּ

and their tents

וְאָֽהֳלֵיהֶ֗ם

וַיָּבֹ֥אוּ

אַרְבֶּה֙

for multitude

לָרֹ֔ב

 

וְלָהֶ֥ם

for both they and their camels

וַיָּבֹ֥אוּ

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

 

כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר

as thou hast said

דִּבַּֽרְתָּ׃

 

וַיְהִי

 

כֵ֕ן

And it was so for he rose up early

וַיַּשְׁכֵּם֙

on the morrow

מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת

and thrust

וַיָּ֖זַר

 

אֶת

out of the fleece

הַגִּזָּ֔ה

and wringed

וַיִּ֤מֶץ

the dew

טַל֙

 

מִן

out of the fleece

הַגִּזָּ֔ה

full

מְל֥וֹא

a bowl

הַסֵּ֖פֶל

of water

מָֽיִם׃

said

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

And Gideon

גִּדְעוֹן֙

 

אֶל

unto God

הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים

 

אַל

be hot

יִ֤חַר

Let not thine anger

אַפְּךָ֙

 

בִּ֔י

against me and I will speak

וַֽאֲדַבְּרָ֖ה

 

אַ֣ךְ

I pray thee but this once

הַפַּ֙עַם֙

let me prove

אֲנַסֶּ֤ה

 

נָּא

 

רַק

I pray thee but this once

הַפַּ֙עַם֙

only upon the fleece

הַגִּזָּה֙

 

יְהִי

 

נָ֨א

let it now be dry

חֹ֤רֶב

 

אֶל

only upon the fleece

הַגִּזָּה֙

 

לְבַדָּ֔הּ

 

וְעַל

 

כָּל

and upon all the ground

הָאָ֖רֶץ

 

יִֽהְיֶה

let there be dew

טָּֽל׃

did

וַיַּ֧עַשׂ

And God

אֱלֹהִ֛ים

 

כֵּ֖ן

so that night

בַּלַּ֣יְלָה

 

הַה֑וּא

 

וַֽיְהִי

for it was dry

חֹ֤רֶב

 

אֶל

upon the fleece

הַגִּזָּה֙

 

לְבַדָּ֔הּ

 

וְעַל

 

כָּל

on all the ground

הָאָ֖רֶץ

 

הָ֥יָה

only and there was dew

טָֽל׃
