I will go up

בְּרַגְלֵיהֶֽם׃

וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

And the king

הַמְּלָכִ֣ים

of Israel

Alas

אֲהָ֕הּ

 

כִּֽי

hath called

קָרָ֣א

that the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

these three

לִשְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙

And the king

הַמְּלָכִ֣ים

 

הָאֵ֔לֶּה

to deliver

לָתֵ֥ת

 

אוֹתָ֖ם

them into the hand

בְּיַד

of Moab

מוֹאָֽב׃

and said

וַיֹּ֔אמֶר

But Jehoshaphat

הַאֵ֨ין

 

פֹּ֤ה

Is there not here a prophet

נָבִיא֙

of the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

that we may enquire

וְנִדְרְשָׁ֥ה

דְּבַר

of the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

whom I stand

עָמַ֣דְתִּי

toward thee nor see

אֶרְאֶֽךָּ׃

 

וְעַתָּ֖ה

But now bring

קְחוּ

 

לִ֣י

And it came to pass when the minstrel

הַֽמְנַגֵּ֔ן

 

וְהָיָה֙

the LORD

Ye shall not see

תִרְא֣וּ

Ye shall not see

תִרְא֣וּ

rain

גֶ֔שֶׁם

yet that valley

וְהַנַּ֥חַל

 

הַה֖וּא

shall be filled

יִמָּ֣לֵא

with water

מָ֑יִם

that ye may drink

וּשְׁתִיתֶ֛ם

 

אַתֶּ֥ם

both ye and your cattle

וּמִקְנֵיכֶ֖ם

and your beasts

וּֽבְהֶמְתְּכֶֽם׃

And this is but a light thing

וְנָקַ֥ל

 

זֹ֖את

in the sight

בְּעֵינֵ֣י

of the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

he will deliver

וְנָתַ֥ן

 

אֶת

the Moabites

מוֹאָ֖ב

also into your hand

בְּיֶדְכֶֽם׃

And ye shall smite

וְהִכִּיתֶ֞ם

עִ֣יר

every fenced

מִבְצָר֙

and every choice

מִבְח֔וֹר

 

וְכָל

tree

עֵ֥ץ

every good

הַטּוֹבָ֔ה

and shall fell

תַּפִּ֔ילוּ

all wells

מַעְיְנֵי

and stop

תִּסְתֹּ֑מוּ

 

וְכֹל֙

הַֽחֶלְקָ֣ה

every good

הַטּוֹבָ֔ה

וַיְהִ֤י

And it came to pass in the morning

בַבֹּ֙קֶר֙

was offered

כַּֽעֲל֣וֹת

when the meat offering

הַמִּנְחָ֔ה

 

וְהִנֵּה

water

הַמָּֽיִם׃

that behold there came

בָּאִ֖ים

by the way

מִדֶּ֣רֶךְ

of Edom

אֱד֑וֹם

was filled

וַתִּמָּלֵ֥א

and the country

הָאָ֖רֶץ

 

אֶת

הַמָּֽיִם׃

 

וְכָל

And when all the Moabites

מוֹאָב֙

heard

שָֽׁמְע֔וּ

 

כִּֽי

were come up

עָל֥וּ

that the kings

הַמְּלָכִ֖ים

to fight

לְהִלָּ֣חֶם

 

בָּ֑ם

against them they gathered

וַיִּצָּֽעֲק֗וּ

 

מִכֹּ֨ל

all that were able to put

חֹגֵ֤ר

on armour

חֲגֹרָה֙

and upward

וָמַ֔עְלָה

and stood

וַיַּֽעַמְד֖וּ

 

עַֽל

in the border

הַגְּבֽוּל׃

And they rose up early

וַיַּשְׁכִּ֣ימוּ

in the morning

בַבֹּ֔קֶר

and the sun

וְהַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ

shone

זָֽרְחָ֣ה

 

עַל

the water

הַמַּ֖יִם

saw

וַיִּרְא֨וּ

and the Moabites

מוֹאָ֥ב

on the other side

מִנֶּ֛גֶד

as red

And they said

וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙

Then he took

וַיִּקַּח֩

his eldest

הַבְּכ֜וֹר

that should have reigned

in his stead and offered

וַיַּֽעֲלֵ֤הוּ

him for a burnt offering

And there was great

against Israel
