לַֽעֲבָדִֽים׃

And she said

וַתֹּ֗אמֶר

 

אֵלֶ֤יהָ

And Elisha

אֱלִישָׁע֙

 

מָ֣ה

unto her What shall I do

אֶֽעֱשֶׂה

 

לָּ֔ךְ

for thee tell

הַגִּ֣ידִי

 

לִ֔י

 

מַה

me what hast

יֶּשׁ

 

לָ֖כְי

hath not any thing in the house

בַּבַּ֔יִת

And she said

וַתֹּ֗אמֶר

 

אֵ֣ין

Thine handmaid

לְשִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֥

 

כֹל֙

hath not any thing in the house

בַּבַּ֔יִת

 

כִּ֖י

 

אִם

save a pot

אָס֥וּךְ

of oil

שָֽׁמֶן׃

Then he said

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

 

לְכִ֨י

borrow

שַֽׁאֲלִי

 

לָ֤ךְ

thee vessels

כֵּלִ֥ים

 

מִן

abroad

הַח֔וּץ

 

מֵאֵ֖ת

 

כָּל

of all thy neighbours

שְׁכֵנָ֑יִכְי

thee vessels

כֵּלִ֥ים

even empty

רֵקִ֖ים

 

אַל

borrow not a few

תַּמְעִֽיטִי׃

And when thou art come in

וּבָ֗את

thou shalt shut

וְסָגַ֤רְתְּ

the door

הַדֶּ֙לֶת֙

 

בַּֽעֲדֵ֣ךְ

 

וּבְעַד

upon thee and upon thy sons

בָּנַ֔יִךְ

and shalt pour out

וְיָצַ֕קְתְּ

 

עַ֥ל

 

כָּל

into all those vessels

הַכֵּלִ֖ים

 

הָאֵ֑לֶּה

that which is full

וְהַמָּלֵ֖א

and thou shalt set aside

תַּסִּֽיעִי׃

 

וַתֵּ֙לֶךְ֙

 

מֵֽאִתּ֔וֹ

from him and shut

וַתִּסְגֹּ֣ר

the door

הַדֶּ֔לֶת

upon her and upon

וּבְעַ֣ד

And it came to pass when the vessels

And he said

בְּנָהּ֙

Bring

And it came to pass when the vessels

כֶּ֑לִי

And he said

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

 

אֵלֶ֔יהָ

ע֖וֹד

And it came to pass when the vessels

כֶּ֑לִי

stayed

וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד

more And the oil

הַשָּֽׁמֶן׃

Then she came

וַתָּבֹ֗א

and told

וַתַּגֵּד֙

the man

לְאִ֣ישׁ

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים

And he said

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

 

לְכִי֙

sell

מִכְרִ֣י

 

אֶת

the oil

הַשֶּׁ֔מֶן

and pay

וְשַׁלְּמִ֖י

 

אֶת

thy debt

נִשְׁיֵ֑כְי

 

וְאַ֣תְּ

thou and thy children

בָנַ֔יִכְי

and live

תִֽחְיִ֖י

of the rest

בַּנּוֹתָֽר׃

 

וַיְהִ֨י

And it fell on a day

הַיּ֜וֹם

as he passed by

עָבְר֔וֹ

that Elisha

אֱלִישָׁ֣ע

 

אֶל

to Shunem

שׁוּנֵ֗ם

 

וְשָׁם֙

woman

אִשָּׁ֣ה

where was a great

גְדוֹלָ֔ה

and she constrained

וַתַּֽחֲזֶק

 

בּ֖וֹ

him to eat

לֶֽאֱכָל

bread

לָֽחֶם׃

 

וַֽיְהִי֙

And so it was that as oft

מִדֵּ֣י

as he passed by

עָבְר֔וֹ

he turned

יָסֻ֥ר

 

שָׁ֖מָּה

him to eat

לֶֽאֱכָל

bread

לָֽחֶם׃

And she said

וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙

 

אֶל

man

אִ֥ישׁ

 

הִנֵּה

 

נָ֣א

Behold now I perceive

יָדַ֔עְתִּי

 

כִּ֛י

man

אִ֥ישׁ

of God

אֱלֹהִ֖ים

that this is an holy

קָד֣וֹשׁ

 

ה֑וּא

which passeth

עֹבֵ֥ר

 

עָלֵ֖ינוּ

by us continually

תָּמִֽיד׃

Let us make

נַֽעֲשֶׂה

 

נָּ֤א

chamber

עֲלִיַּת

I pray thee on the wall

קִיר֙

a little

קְטַנָּ֔ה

and let us set

וְנָשִׂ֨ים

 

ל֥וֹ

 

שָׁ֛ם

for him there a bed

מִטָּ֥ה

and a table

וְשֻׁלְחָ֖ן

and a stool

וְכִסֵּ֣א

and a candlestick

וּמְנוֹרָ֑ה

 

וְהָיָ֛ה

and it shall be when he cometh

בְּבֹא֥וֹ

 

אֵלֵ֖ינוּ

to us that he shall turn

יָס֥וּר

 

שָֽׁמָּה׃

 

וַיְהִ֥י

And it fell on a day

הַיּ֖וֹם

that he came

וַיָּ֣בֹא

 

שָׁ֑מָּה

thither and he turned

וַיָּ֥סַר

into the chamber

הָֽעֲלִיָּ֖ה

and lay

וַיִּשְׁכַּב

And he said

to Gehazi

גֵּיחֲזִ֣י

his servant

נַֽעֲר֔וֹ

And when he had called

וַיִּקְרָא

this Shunammite

לַשּֽׁוּנַמִּ֣ית

 

הַזֹּ֑את

And when he had called

וַיִּקְרָא

 

לָ֔הּ

her she stood

וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד

before

לְפָנָֽיו׃

And he said

וַתֹּ֕אמֶר

אֵלֶיהָ֮

 

הִנֵּ֣ה

now unto her Behold thou hast been careful

What then is to be done

לַֽעֲשׂ֣וֹת

 

לָ֑הּ

And he said

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

for her And Gehazi

גֵּֽיחֲזִ֗י

Verily

אֲבָ֛ל

she hath no child

בֵּ֥ן

 

אֵֽין

 

לָ֖הּ

and her husband

וְאִישָׁ֥הּ

is old

זָקֵֽן׃

And he said

וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

Call

וַיִּקְרָא

 

לָ֑הּ

Call

וַיִּקְרָא

 

לָ֔הּ

her she stood

וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד

in the door

בַּפָּֽתַח׃

And he said

וַתֹּ֗אמֶר

About this season

לַמּוֹעֵ֤ד

thou shalt embrace

חֹבֶ֣קֶת

a son

בֵּ֑ן

And he said

Nay my lord

אֲדֹנִי֙

thou man

אִ֣ישׁ

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים

 

אַל

do not lie

תְּכַזֵּ֖ב

unto thine handmaid

בְּשִׁפְחָתֶֽךָ׃

conceived

וַתַּ֥הַר

And the woman

הָֽאִשָּׁ֖ה

and bare

וַתֵּ֣לֶד

a son

בֵּ֑ן

at that season

לַמּוֹעֵ֤ד

 

הַזֶּה֙

unto her according to the time

כָּעֵ֣ת

of life

חַיָּ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁר

had said

אֵלֶ֖יהָ

that Elisha

אֱלִישָֽׁע׃

was grown

וַיִּגְדַּ֖ל

And when the child

הַיָּ֑לֶד

it fell on a day

הַיּ֔וֹם

that he went out

וַיֵּצֵ֥א

 

אֶל

to his father

אָבִ֖יו

 

אֶל

to the reapers

הַקֹּֽצְרִֽים׃

And he said

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

unto his father

My head

רֹאשִׁ֑י

And he said

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

to a lad

הַנַּ֔עַר

Carry

שָׂאֵ֖הוּ

him to his mother

אִמּֽוֹ׃

And when he had taken

וַיִּ֨שָּׂאֵ֔הוּ

him and brought

וַיְבִיאֵ֖הוּ

him to his mother

he sat

וַיֵּ֧שֶׁב

on her knees

בִּרְכֶּ֛יהָ

till noon

הַֽצָּהֳרַ֖יִם

and then died

וַיָּמֹֽת׃

And she went up

וַתַּ֙עַל֙

and laid

וַתַּשְׁכִּבֵ֔הוּ

 

עַל

him on the bed

מִטַּ֖ת

of the man

אִ֣ישׁ

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים

and shut

וַתִּסְגֹּ֥ר

 

בַּֽעֲד֖וֹ

the door upon him and went out

וַתֵּצֵֽא׃

And she called

וַתִּקְרָא֮

 

אֶל

to the man

אִ֥ישׁ

and said

וַתֹּ֗אמֶר

Send

שִׁלְחָ֨ה

 

נָ֥א

 

לִי֙

and one

וְאַחַ֖ת

 

מִן

of the young men

הַנְּעָרִ֔ים

and one

וְאַחַ֖ת

of the asses

הָֽאֲתֹנ֑וֹת

that I may run

וְאָר֛וּצָה

 

עַד

to the man

אִ֥ישׁ

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים

and come again

וְאָשֽׁוּבָה׃

And he said

וַתֹּ֖אמֶר

 

מַ֠דּוּעַ

 

אַ֣תְּי

Wherefore wilt thou go

הֹלֶ֤כֶתי

 

אֵלָיו֙

to him to day

הַיּ֔וֹם

 

לֹא

it is neither new moon

חֹ֖דֶשׁ

 

וְלֹ֣א

nor sabbath

שַׁבָּ֑ת

And he said

וַתֹּ֖אמֶר

It shall be well

שָׁלֽוֹם׃

Then she saddled

וַֽתַּחֲבֹשׁ֙

an ass

הָֽאָת֔וֹן

and said

אָמַ֥רְתִּי

 

אֶֽל

to her servant

נַעֲרָ֖הּ

Drive

נְהַ֣ג

 

וָלֵ֑ךְ

 

אַל

slack

תַּעֲצָר

 

לִ֣י

not thy riding

לִרְכֹּ֔ב

 

כִּ֖י

 

אִם

and said

אָמַ֥רְתִּי

 

לָֽךְ׃

saw her afar off

And it came to pass when the man

he said

to Gehazi

Behold yonder is that Shunammite

הַשּֽׁוּנַמִּ֥ית

הַלָּֽז׃

 

עַתָּה֮

Run

רֽוּץ

 

נָ֣א

now I pray thee to meet

לִקְרָאתָהּ֒

And she answered

וַתֹּ֖אמֶר

 

לָ֗הּ

It is well

שָׁלֽוֹם׃

 

לָ֛ךְ

It is well

שָׁלֽוֹם׃

with thy husband

לְאִישֵׁ֖ךְ

It is well

שָׁלֽוֹם׃

with the child

לַיָּ֑לֶד

And she answered

וַתֹּ֖אמֶר

It is well

שָׁלֽוֹם׃

And when she came

וַתָּבֹ֞א

 

אֶל

And the man

אִ֨ישׁ

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֤ים

to the hill

הָהָ֔ר

she caught

וַֽתַּחֲזֵ֖ק

him by the feet

בְּרַגְלָ֑יו

came near

וַיִּגַּ֨שׁ

but Gehazi

גֵּֽיחֲזִ֜י

to thrust her away

לְהָדְפָ֗הּ

said

וַיֹּאמֶר֩

And the man

אִ֨ישׁ

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֤ים

Let her alone

הַרְפֵּה

 

לָהּ֙

 

כִּֽי

for her soul

נַפְשָׁ֣הּ

is vexed

מָֽרָה

 

לָ֔הּ

within her and the LORD

וַֽיהוָה֙

hath hid

הֶעְלִ֣ים

 

מִמֶּ֔נִּי

 

וְלֹ֥א

it from me and hath not told

הִגִּ֖יד

 

לִֽי׃

Then she said

אָמַ֔רְתִּי

Did I desire

הֲשָׁאַ֥לְתִּי

a son

בֵ֖ן

 

מֵאֵ֣ת

of my lord

אֲדֹנִ֑י

 

הֲלֹ֣א

Then she said

אָמַ֔רְתִּי

Do not deceive

תַשְׁלֶ֖ה

Then he said

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

to Gehazi

לְגֵֽיחֲזִ֜י

Gird up

חֲגֹ֣ר

thy loins

מָתְנֶ֗יךָ

and take

וְקַ֨ח

my staff

מִשְׁעַנְתִּ֖י

in thine hand

בְיָֽדְךָ֮

 

וָלֵךְ֒

if thou meet

תִמְצָ֥א

any man

salute

יְבָרֶכְךָ֥

The child

but there was neither voice

nor hearing

קָ֑שֶׁב

Wherefore he went again

וַיָּ֤שָׁב

to meet

לִקְרָאתוֹ֙

him and told

וַיַּגֶּד

him saying

לֵאמֹ֔ר

is not awaked

הֵקִ֖יץ

The child

הַנָּֽעַר׃

was come

וַיָּבֹ֥א

And when Elisha

אֱלִישָׁ֖ע

into the house

הַבָּ֑יְתָה

 

וְהִנֵּ֤ה

behold the child

הַנַּ֙עַר֙

was dead

מֵ֔ת

and laid

מֻשְׁכָּ֖ב

 

עַל

upon his bed

מִטָּתֽוֹ׃

He went in

וַיָּבֹ֕א

therefore and shut

וַיִּסְגֹּ֥ר

the door

הַדֶּ֖לֶת

 

בְּעַ֣ד

upon them twain

שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם

and prayed

וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֖ל

יְהוָֽה׃

And he went up

וַיַּ֜עַל

and lay

וַיִּשְׁכַּ֣ב

his mouth

and his eyes

herself to the ground

אָ֑רְצָה

and took up

And Elisha

came again

to Gilgal

הַגִּלְגָּ֙לָה֙

and there was a dearth

וְהָֽרָעָ֣ב

in the land

בָּאָ֔רֶץ

and the sons

לִבְנֵ֥י

of the prophets

הַנְּבִיאִֽים׃

were sitting

יֹֽשְׁבִ֖ים

before

לְפָנָ֑יו

him and he said

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

unto his servant

לְנַֽעֲר֗וֹ

Set

שְׁפֹת֙

pot

הַסִּ֣יר

on the great

הַגְּדוֹלָ֔ה

and seethe

וּבַשֵּׁ֥ל

pottage

נָזִ֖יד

and the sons

לִבְנֵ֥י

of the prophets

הַנְּבִיאִֽים׃

And one

that they cried out

צָעָ֗קוּ

there is death

O thou man

אִ֣ישׁ

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים

 

וְלֹ֥א

And they could

יָֽכְל֖וּ

And it came to pass as they were eating

לֶֽאֱכֹֽל׃

But he said

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

Then bring

וּקְחוּ

meal

קֶ֔מַח

And he cast

וַיַּשְׁלֵ֖ךְ

in the pot

בַּסִּֽיר׃

But he said

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

Pour out

צַ֤ק

for the people

לָעָם֙

that they may eat

וְיֹאכֵ֔לוּ

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֜ים

bread

לֶ֣חֶם

of the firstfruits

בִּכּוּרִים֙

twenty

עֶשְׂרִֽים

bread

לֶ֣חֶם

of barley

שְׂעֹרִ֔ים

and full ears of corn

וְכַרְמֶ֖ל

in the husk

בְּצִקְלֹנ֑וֹ

thereof And he said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

Give

תֵּ֥ן

unto the people

לָעָ֖ם

that they may eat

וְיֹאכֵֽלוּ׃

He said again

אָמַ֛ר

And his servitor

מְשָׁ֣רְת֔וֹ

 

מָ֚ה

Give

תֵּ֤ן

 

זֶ֔ה

this before

לִפְנֵ֖י

an hundred

מֵ֣אָה

men

אִ֑ישׁ

He said again

אָמַ֛ר

Give

תֵּ֤ן

the people

לָעָם֙

They shall eat

אָכֹ֥ל

 

כִּ֣י

 

כֹ֥ה

He said again

אָמַ֛ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

They shall eat

אָכֹ֥ל

and shall leave

וְהוֹתֵֽר׃

So he set

וַיִּתֵּ֧ן

it before

לִפְנֵיהֶ֛ם

them and they did eat

וַיֹּֽאכְל֥וּ

and left

וַיּוֹתִ֖רוּ

thereof according to the word

כִּדְבַ֥ר

of the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃
