אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

הִנְנִ֣י

 

אֵלַ֔יִךְ

Behold I am against thee and will draw forth

וְהוֹצֵאתִ֥י

my sword

חַרְבִּ֖י

out of his sheath

מִתַּעְרָ֑הּ

and will cut off

וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י

 

מִמֵּ֖ךְ

from thee the righteous

צַדִּ֥יק

and the wicked

וְרָשָֽׁע׃

Seeing

יַ֛עַן

 

אֲשֶׁר

then that I will cut off

הִכְרַ֥תִּי

 

מִמֵּ֖ךְ

from thee the righteous

צַדִּ֣יק

and the wicked

וְרָשָׁ֑ע

 

לָ֠כֵן

go forth

תֵּצֵ֨א

therefore shall my sword

חַרְבִּ֧י

out of his sheath

מִתַּעְרָ֛הּ

 

אֶל

 

כָּל

against all flesh

בָּשָׂ֖ר

from the south

מִנֶּ֥גֶב

to the north

צָפֽוֹן׃

may know

וְיָֽדְעוּ֙

 

כָּל

That all flesh

בָּשָׂ֔ר

 

כִּ֚י

 

אֲנִ֣י

that I the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

have drawn forth

הוֹצֵ֥אתִי

my sword

חַרְבִּ֖י

out of his sheath

מִתַּעְרָ֑הּ

 

לֹ֥א

it shall not return

תָשׁ֖וּב

 

עֽוֹד׃

 

וְאַתָּ֥ה

therefore thou son

בֶן

of man

אָדָ֖ם

Sigh

תֵּֽאָנַ֖ח

with the breaking

בְּשִׁבְר֤וֹן

of thy loins

מָתְנַ֙יִם֙

and with bitterness

וּבִמְרִיר֔וּת

Sigh

תֵּֽאָנַ֖ח

before their eyes

לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃

and shall be brought to pass

וְנִֽהְיָ֔תָה

 

כִּֽי

And it shall be when they say

וְאָמַרְתָּ֡

 

אֵלֶ֔יךָ

 

עַל

 

מָ֖ה

 

אַתָּ֣ה

unto thee Wherefore sighest

נֶאֱנָ֑ח

And it shall be when they say

וְאָמַרְתָּ֡

 

אֶל

For the tidings

שְׁמוּעָ֣ה

 

כִֽי

because it cometh

בָאָה֙

shall melt

וְנָמֵ֣ס

 

כָּל

and every heart

לֵב֩

shall be feeble

וְרָפ֨וּ

 

כָל

and all hands

יָדַ֜יִם

shall faint

וְכִהֲתָ֣ה

 

כָל

and every spirit

ר֗וּחַ

 

וְכָל

and all knees

בִּרְכַּ֙יִם֙

 

תֵּלַ֣כְנָה

as water

מַּ֔יִם

 

הִנֵּ֤ה

because it cometh

בָאָה֙

and shall be brought to pass

וְנִֽהְיָ֔תָה

saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

Again the word

is sharpened

הוּחַ֖דָּה

 

וְגַם

and also furbished

מְרוּטָֽה׃

 

לְמַ֨עַן

to make a sore

טְבֹ֤חַ

slaughter

טֶ֙בַח֙

It is sharpened

הוּחַ֔דָּה

 

לְמַעַן

 

הֱיֵה

 

לָ֥הּ

that it may glitter

בָּ֖רָק

 

מֹרָ֑טָּה

should

א֣וֹ

we then make mirth

נָשִׂ֔ישׂ

the rod

שֵׁ֥בֶט

of my son

בְּנִ֖י

it contemneth

מֹאֶ֥סֶת

 

כָּל

as every tree

עֵֽץ׃

And he hath given

לָתֵ֥ת

 

אֹתָ֛הּ

it to be furbished

מֹרָ֔טָּה

 

לִתְפֹּ֣שׂ

that it may be handled

בַּכָּ֑ף

 

הִֽיא

is sharpened

הוּחַ֤דָּה

this sword

חֶ֙רֶב֙

 

וְהִ֣יא

it to be furbished

מֹרָ֔טָּה

And he hath given

לָתֵ֥ת

 

אוֹתָ֖הּ

it into the hand

בְּיַד

of the slayer

הוֹרֵֽג׃

Cry

זְעַ֤ק

and howl

וְהֵילֵל֙

בֶּן

אָדָ֔ם

 

כִּי

 

הִיא֙

 

הָיתָ֣ה

for it shall be upon my people

עַמִּ֔י

 

הִ֖יא

 

בְּכָל

it shall be upon all the princes

נְשִׂיאֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

מְגוּרֵ֤י

by reason of

אֶל

the sword

חֶ֙רֶב֙

 

הָי֣וּ

for it shall be upon my people

עַמִּ֔י

therefore upon thy thigh

יָרֵֽךְ׃

Because it is a trial

בֹ֔חַן

and what if the sword contemn

מֹאֶ֖סֶת

 

לֹ֣א

 

יִֽהְיֶ֑ה

it shall be no more saith

Thou therefore son

וְתִכָּפֵ֞ל

and let the sword

שְׁלִישִׁ֙תָה֙

which entereth into their privy chambers

וְהַרְבֵּה֙

and their ruins

I have set

of the sword

Go thee one way or other

whithersoever

אָ֖נָה

I will also smite

אַכֶּ֤ה

mine hands

כַּפִּ֔י

 

אֶל

וַהֲנִחֹתִ֖י

and I will cause my fury

חֲמָתִ֑י

I the LORD

בִּתְרוּעָ֑ה

לָשׂ֤וּם

battering rams

כָּרִים֙

 

עַל

against the gates

שְׁעָרִ֔ים

to cast

לִשְׁפֹּ֥ךְ

a mount

סֹלְלָ֖ה

and to build

לִבְנ֥וֹת

a fort

דָּיֵֽק׃

 

וְהָיָ֨ה

 

לָהֶ֤ם

divination

כִּקְסָום

And it shall be unto them as a false

שָׁוְא֙

in their sight

בְּעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם

to them that have sworn

שְׁבֻעֵ֥י

oaths

שְׁבֻע֖וֹת

 

לָהֶ֑ם

 

וְהֽוּא

but he will call to remembrance

מַזְכִּ֥יר

the iniquity

עָוֹ֖ן

that they may be taken

לְהִתָּפֵֽשׂ׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּֽה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֮

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִה֒

 

יַ֗עַן

because I say that ye are come to remembrance

הִזָּ֣כֶרְכֶ֔ם

Because ye have made your iniquity

עֲוֹ֣נְכֶ֔ם

are discovered

בְּהִגָּל֣וֹת

in that your transgressions

פִּשְׁעֵיכֶ֗ם

do appear

לְהֵֽרָאוֹת֙

your sins

חַטֹּ֣אותֵיכֶ֔ם

 

בְּכֹ֖ל

so that in all your doings

עֲלִילֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם

 

יַ֚עַן

because I say that ye are come to remembrance

הִזָּ֣כֶרְכֶ֔ם

with the hand

בַּכַּ֖ף

ye shall be taken

תִּתָּפֵֽשׂוּ׃

 

וְאַתָּה֙

And thou profane

חָלָ֣ל

wicked

רָשָׁ֔ע

prince

נְשִׂ֖יא

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

 

אֲשֶׁר

is come

בָּ֣א

whose day

יוֹמ֔וֹ

when

בְּעֵ֖ת

iniquity

עֲוֹ֥ן

shall have an end

קֵֽץ׃

 

כֹּ֤ה

Thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

 

יְהוִ֔ה

Remove

הָסִיר֙

the diadem

הַמִּצְנֶ֔פֶת

and take off

וְהָרִ֖ים

the crown

הָֽעֲטָרָ֑ה

this shall not be the same

זֹ֔את

 

לֹא

this shall not be the same

זֹ֔את

him that is low

הַשָּׁפָ֣לָה

exalt

הַגְבֵּ֔הַּ

and abase

וְהַגָּבֹ֖הַ

him that is high

הַשְׁפִּֽיל׃

I will overturn

עַוָּ֣ה

I will overturn

it and it shall be

אֲשִׂימֶ֑נָּה

Whiles they see

בַּחֲז֥וֹת

 

לָךְ֙

vanity

שָׁ֔וְא

unto thee whiles they divine

בִּקְסָם

 

לָ֖ךְ

a lie

כָּזָ֑ב

unto thee to bring

לָתֵ֣ת

 

אוֹתָ֗ךְ

 

אֶֽל

thee upon the necks

צַוְּארֵי֙

of them that are slain

חַֽלְלֵ֣י

of the wicked

רְשָׁעִ֔ים

 

אֲשֶׁר

is come

בָּ֣א

whose day

יוֹמָ֔ם

when

בְּעֵ֖ת

their iniquity

עֲוֹ֥ן

shall have an end

קֵֽץ׃

Shall I cause it to return

I will judge

אֶשְׁפֹּ֥ט

 

אֹתָֽךְ׃

And I will pour out

וְשָׁפַכְתִּ֤י

 

עָלַ֙יִךְ֙

mine indignation

זַעְמִ֔י

against thee in the fire

בְּאֵ֥שׁ

of my wrath

עֶבְרָתִ֖י

upon thee I will blow

אָפִ֣יחַ

 

עָלָ֑יִךְ

and deliver

וּנְתַתִּ֗יךְ

thee into the hand

בְּיַד֙

 

אֲנָשִׁ֣ים

of brutish

בֹּֽעֲרִ֔ים

and skilful

חָרָשֵׁ֖י

to destroy

מַשְׁחִֽית׃

to the fire

לָאֵ֤שׁ

 

תִּֽהְיֶה֙

Thou shalt be for fuel

לְאָכְלָ֔ה

thy blood

דָּמֵ֥ךְ

 

יִהְיֶ֖ה

shall be in the midst

בְּת֣וֹךְ

of the land

הָאָ֑רֶץ

 

לֹ֣א

thou shalt be no more remembered

תִזָּכֵ֔רִי

 

כִּ֛י

 

אֲנִ֥י

for I the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

have spoken

דִּבַּֽרְתִּי׃
