of it that her time

עִתָּ֑הּ

and maketh

וְעָשְׂתָ֧ה

idols

גִלּוּלִ֛ים

 

עָלֶ֖יהָ

against herself to defile

לְטָמְאָֽה׃

in thy blood

בְּדָמֵ֨ךְ

 

אֲשֶׁר

that thou hast shed

שָׁפַ֜כְתְּ

Thou art become guilty

אָשַׁ֗מְתְּ

thyself in thine idols

וּבְגִלּוּלַ֤יִךְ

 

אֲשֶׁר

which thou hast made

עָשִׂית֙

and hast defiled

טָמֵ֔את

to draw near

וַתַּקְרִ֣יבִי

and thou hast caused thy days

יָמַ֔יִךְ

and art come

וַתָּב֖וֹא

 

עַד

even unto thy years

שְׁנוֹתָ֑יִךְ

 

עַל

 

כֵּ֗ן

therefore have I made

נְתַתִּ֤יךְ

thee a reproach

חֶרְפָּה֙

unto the heathen

לַגּוֹיִ֔ם

and a mocking

וְקַלָּסָ֖ה

 

לְכָל

to all countries

הָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

Those that be near

הַקְּרֹב֛וֹת

and those that be far

וְהָרְחֹק֥וֹת

 

מִמֵּ֖ךְ

from thee shall mock

יִתְקַלְּסוּ

 

בָ֑ךְ

thee which art infamous

טְמֵאַ֣ת

 

הַשֵּׁ֔ם

and much

רַבַּ֖ת

vexed

הַמְּהוּמָֽה׃

 

הִנֵּה֙

Behold the princes

נְשִׂיאֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

every one

אִ֥ישׁ

were in thee to their power

לִזְרֹע֖וֹ

 

הָ֣יוּ

 

בָ֑ךְ

 

לְמַ֖עַן

to shed

שְׁפָךְ

blood

דָּֽם׃

by father

אָ֤ב

and mother

וָאֵם֙

In thee have they set light

הֵקַ֣לּוּ

 

בָ֔ךְ

with the stranger

לַגֵּ֛ר

of thee have they dealt

עָשׂ֥וּ

by oppression

בַעֹ֖שֶׁק

in the midst

בְּתוֹכֵ֑ךְ

the fatherless

יָת֥וֹם

and the widow

וְאַלְמָנָ֖ה

in thee have they vexed

ה֥וֹנוּ

 

בָֽךְ׃

mine holy things

קָדָשַׁ֖י

Thou hast despised

בָּזִ֑ית

 

וְאֶת

my sabbaths

שַׁבְּתֹתַ֖י

and hast profaned

חִלָּֽלְתְּ׃

In thee are men

אַנְשֵׁ֥י

that carry tales

רָכִ֛יל

 

הָ֥יוּ

 

בָ֖ךְ

 

לְמַ֣עַן

to shed

שְׁפָךְ

blood

דָּ֑ם

 

וְאֶל

upon the mountains

הֶֽהָרִים֙

and in thee they eat

אָ֣כְלוּ

 

בָ֔ךְ

lewdness

זִמָּ֖ה

of thee they commit

עָשׂ֥וּ

in the midst

בְתוֹכֵֽךְ׃

nakedness

עֶרְוַת

their fathers

אָ֖ב

In thee have they discovered

גִּלָּה

 

בָ֑ךְ

for pollution

טְמֵאַ֥ת

her that was set apart

הַנִּדָּ֖ה

in thee have they humbled

עִנּוּ

 

בָֽךְ׃

And one

וְאִ֛ישׁ

 

אֶת

wife

אֵ֣שֶׁת

with his neighbour's

רֵעֵ֗הוּ

hath committed

עָשָׂה֙

abomination

תּֽוֹעֵבָ֔ה

And one

his daughter in law

כַּלָּת֖וֹ

defiled

טִמֵּ֣א

hath lewdly

בְזִמָּ֑ה

וְאִ֛ישׁ

his sister

his father's

אָבִ֖יו

in thee hath humbled

עִנָּה

 

בָֽךְ׃

gifts

שֹׁ֥חַד

In thee have they taken

לָקַ֗חַתְּ

 

בָ֖ךְ

 

לְמַ֣עַן

to shed

שְׁפָךְ

blood

דָּ֑ם

usury

נֶ֧שֶׁךְ

and increase

וְתַרְבִּ֣ית

In thee have they taken

לָקַ֗חַתְּ

and thou hast greedily gained

וַתְּבַצְּעִ֤י

of thy neighbours

רֵעַ֙יִךְ֙

by extortion

בַּעֹ֔שֶׁק

 

וְאֹתִ֣י

and hast forgotten

שָׁכַ֔חַתְּ

me saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

GOD

יְהוִֽה׃

 

וְהִנֵּה֙

Behold therefore I have smitten

הִכֵּ֣יתִי

mine hand

כַפִּ֔י

 

אֶל

at thy dishonest gain

בִּצְעֵ֖ךְ

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which thou hast made

עָשִׂ֑ית

 

וְעַ֨ל

and at thy blood

דָּמֵ֔ךְ

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

 

הָי֖וּ

which hath been in the midst

בְּתוֹכֵֽךְ׃

endure

הֲיַעֲמֹ֤ד

Can thine heart

לִבֵּךְ֙

 

אִם

be strong

תֶּחֱזַ֣קְנָה

or can thine hands

יָדַ֔יִךְ

in the days

לַיָּמִ֕ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

 

אֲנִ֖י

it and will do

וְעָשִֽׂיתִי׃

 

אוֹתָ֑ךְ

 

אֲנִ֥י

with thee I the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

have spoken

דִּבַּ֥רְתִּי

it and will do

וְעָשִֽׂיתִי׃

And I will scatter

וַהֲפִיצוֹתִ֤י

 

אוֹתָךְ֙

thee among the heathen

בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם

and disperse

וְזֵרִיתִ֖יךְ

thee in the countries

בָּאֲרָצ֑וֹת

and will consume

וַהֲתִמֹּתִ֥י

thy filthiness

טֻמְאָתֵ֖ךְ

 

מִמֵּֽךְ׃

And thou shalt take thine inheritance

וְנִחַ֥לְתְּ

 

בָּ֖ךְ

in thyself in the sight

לְעֵינֵ֣י

of the heathen

גוֹיִ֑ם

and thou shalt know

וְיָדַ֖עַתְּ

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֥י

that I am the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

 

וַיְהִ֥י

And the word

דְבַר

of the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

אֵלַ֥י

is to me become dross

סִגִ֥ים

 

כֻּלָּ֡ם

all they are brass

נְ֠חֹשֶׁת

and tin

וּבְדִ֨יל

and iron

וּבַרְזֶ֤ל

and lead

וְעוֹפֶ֙רֶת֙

in the midst

בְּת֣וֹךְ

of the furnace

כּ֔וּר

is to me become dross

סִגִ֥ים

of silver

כֶּ֖סֶף

 

הָיֽוּ׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּ֤ה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

 

יַ֛עַן

 

הֱי֥וֹת

 

כֻּלְּכֶ֖ם

Because ye are all become dross

לְסִגִ֑ים

 

לָכֵן֙

 

הִנְנִ֣י

behold therefore I will gather

קֹבֵ֣ץ

 

אֶתְכֶ֔ם

 

אֶל

you into the midst

תּ֖וֹךְ

of Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

As they gather

קְבֻ֣צַת

silver

כֶּ֡סֶף

and brass

וּ֠נְחֹשֶׁת

and iron

וּבַרְזֶ֨ל

and lead

וְעוֹפֶ֤רֶת

and tin

וּבְדִיל֙

 

אֶל

into the midst

תּ֣וֹךְ

of the furnace

כּ֔וּר

to blow

לָפַֽחַת

 

עָלָ֥יו

the fire

אֵ֖שׁ

upon it to melt

וְהִתַּכְתִּ֖י

 

כֵּ֤ן

it so will I gather

אֶקְבֹּץ֙

you in mine anger

בְּאַפִּ֣י

and in my fury

וּבַחֲמָתִ֔י

and I will leave

וְהִנַּחְתִּ֥י

upon it to melt

וְהִתַּכְתִּ֖י

 

אֶתְכֶֽם׃

Yea I will gather

וְכִנַּסְתִּ֣י

 

אֶתְכֶ֔ם

you and blow

וְנָפַחְתִּ֥י

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם

upon you in the fire

בְּאֵ֣שׁ

of my wrath

עֶבְרָתִ֑י

and ye shall be melted

וְנִתַּכְתֶּ֖ם

in the midst

בְּתוֹכָֽהּ׃

is melted

כְּהִתּ֥וּךְ

As silver

כֶּ֙סֶף֙

in the midst

בְתוֹכָ֑הּ

of the furnace

כּ֔וּר

 

כֵּ֖ן

so shall ye be melted

תֻּתְּכ֣וּ

in the midst

בְתוֹכָ֑הּ

thereof and ye shall know

וִֽידַעְתֶּם֙

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֣י

that I the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

have poured out

שָׁפַ֥כְתִּי

my fury

חֲמָתִ֖י

 

עֲלֵיכֶֽם׃

 

וַיְהִ֥י

And the word

דְבַר

of the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

אֵלַ֥י

came unto me saying

לֵאמֹֽר׃

Son

בֶּן

of man

אָדָ֕ם

say

אֱמָר

 

לָ֕הּ

 

אַ֣תְּ

unto her Thou art the land

אֶ֔רֶץ

 

לֹ֥א

that is not cleansed

מְטֹהָרָ֖ה

 

הִ֑יא

 

לֹ֥א

nor rained

גֻשְׁמָ֖הּ

upon in the day

בְּי֥וֹם

of indignation

זָֽעַם׃

There is a conspiracy

קֶ֤שֶׁר

of her prophets

נְבִיאֶ֙יהָ֙

in the midst

בְתוֹכָֽהּ׃

lion

כַּאֲרִ֥י

thereof like a roaring

שׁוֹאֵ֖ג

ravening

טֹ֣רֵֽף

the prey

טָ֑רֶף

souls

נֶ֣פֶשׁ

they have devoured

אָכָ֗לוּ

the treasure

חֹ֤סֶן

and precious things

וִיקָר֙

they have taken

יִקָּ֔חוּ

widows

אַלְמְנוֹתֶ֖יהָ

they have made her many

הִרְבּ֥וּ

in the midst

בְתוֹכָֽהּ׃

Her priests

כֹּהֲנֶ֜יהָ

have violated

חָמְס֣וּ

my law

תוֹרָתִי֮

and I am profaned

וָאֵחַ֖ל

between the holy

קֹ֤דֶשׁ

 

בֵּֽין

between the holy

קֹ֤דֶשׁ

and profane

לְחֹל֙

 

לֹ֣א

they have put no difference

הִבְדִּ֔ילוּ

 

וּבֵין

difference between the unclean

הַטָּמֵ֥א

and the clean

לְטָה֖וֹר

 

לֹ֣א

neither have they shewed

הוֹדִ֑יעוּ

from my sabbaths

וּמִשַׁבְּתוֹתַי֙

and have hid

הֶעְלִ֣ימוּ

their eyes

עֵֽינֵיהֶ֔ם

and I am profaned

וָאֵחַ֖ל

among

בְּתוֹכָֽם׃

Her princes

שָׂרֶ֣יהָ

in the midst

בְקִרְבָּ֔הּ

thereof are like wolves

כִּזְאֵבִ֖ים

ravening

טֹ֣רְפֵי

the prey

טָ֑רֶף

to shed

לִשְׁפָּךְ

blood

דָּם֙

and to destroy

לְאַבֵּ֣ד

souls

נְפָשׁ֔וֹת

 

לְמַ֖עַן

to get

בְּצֹ֥עַ

dishonest gain

בָּֽצַע׃

And her prophets

וּנְבִיאֶ֗יהָ

have daubed

טָח֤וּ

 

לָהֶם֙

them with untempered

תָּפֵ֔ל

morter seeing

חֹזִ֣ים

vanity

שָׁ֔וְא

and divining

וְקֹסְמִ֥ים

 

לָהֶ֖ם

lies

כָּזָ֑ב

when the LORD

hath not spoken

דִבֵּֽר׃

The people

עַ֤ם

of the land

הָאָ֙רֶץ֙

have used oppression

עָשְׁק֖וּ

 

עֹ֔שֶׁק

and exercised

וְגָזְל֖וּ

robbery

גָּזֵ֑ל

the poor

וְעָנִ֤י

and needy

וְאֶבְיוֹן֙

and have vexed

הוֹנ֔וּ

 

וְאֶת

the stranger

הַגֵּ֥ר

have used oppression

עָשְׁק֖וּ

 

בְּלֹ֥א

wrongfully

מִשְׁפָּֽט׃

And I sought

וָאֲבַקֵּ֣שׁ

 

מֵהֶ֡ם

for a man

אִ֣ישׁ

among them that should make up

גֹּֽדֵר

the hedge

גָּדֵר֩

and stand

וְעֹמֵ֨ד

in the gap

בַּפֶּ֧רֶץ

before

לְפָנַ֛י

 

בְּעַ֥ד

me for the land

הָאָ֖רֶץ

 

לְבִלְתִּ֣י

that I should not destroy

שַׁחֲתָ֑הּ

 

וְלֹ֖א

it but I found

מָצָֽאתִי׃

Therefore have I poured out

וָאֶשְׁפֹּ֤ךְ

 

עֲלֵיהֶם֙

mine indignation

זַעְמִ֔י

them with the fire

בְּאֵ֥שׁ

of my wrath

עֶבְרָתִ֖י

upon them I have consumed

כִּלִּיתִ֑ים

their own way

דַּרְכָּם֙

upon their heads

בְּרֹאשָׁ֣ם

have I recompensed

נָתַ֔תִּי

saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י
