and that they may rob

יָבֹֽזּוּ׃

And what will ye do

תַּעֲשׂוּ֙

in the day

לְי֣וֹם

of visitation

פְּקֻדָּ֔ה

and in the desolation

וּלְשׁוֹאָ֖ה

from far

מִמֶּרְחָ֣ק

which shall come

תָּב֑וֹא

 

עַל

 

מִי֙

to whom will ye flee

תָּנ֣וּסוּ

for help

לְעֶזְרָ֔ה

 

וְאָ֥נָה

and where will ye leave

תַעַזְב֖וּ

your glory

כְּבוֹדְכֶֽם׃

Without me they shall

בִּלְתִּ֤י

bow down

כָרַע֙

 

תַּ֣חַת

under the prisoners

אַסִּ֔יר

 

וְתַ֥חַת

under the slain

הֲרוּגִ֖ים

and they shall fall

יִפֹּ֑לוּ

 

בְּכָל

 

זֹאת֙

 

לֹא

is not turned away

שָׁ֣ב

For all this his anger

אַפּ֔וֹ

 

וְע֖וֹד

but his hand

יָד֥וֹ

אֶעֱשֶׂ֥ה

unto Samaria

לְשֹׁמְר֖וֹן

and her idols

וְלֶאֱלִילֶ֑יהָ

 

כֵּ֛ן

Shall I not as I have done

אֶעֱשֶׂ֥ה

to Jerusalem

לִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

and her idols

וְלַעֲצַבֶּֽיהָ׃

 

וְהָיָ֗ה

 

כִּֽי

hath performed

יְבַצַּ֤ע

Wherefore it shall come to pass that when the Lord

אֲדֹנָי֙

 

אֶת

 

כָּל

his whole work

מַֽעֲשֵׂ֔הוּ

upon mount

בְּהַ֥ר

Zion

צִיּ֖וֹן

and on Jerusalem

וּבִירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

I will punish

אֶפְקֹ֗ד

 

עַל

the fruit

פְּרִי

of the stout

גֹ֙דֶל֙

heart

לְבַ֣ב

of the king

מֶֽלֶךְ

of Assyria

אַשּׁ֔וּר

 

וְעַל

and the glory

תִּפְאֶ֖רֶת

of his high

ר֥וּם

looks

עֵינָֽיו׃

 

כִּ֣י

For he saith

אָמַ֗ר

By the strength

בְּכֹ֤חַ

of my hand

יָדִי֙

I have done

עָשִׂ֔יתִי

it and by my wisdom

וּבְחָכְמָתִ֖י

 

כִּ֣י

for I am prudent

נְבֻנ֑וֹתִי

and I have removed

וְאָסִ֣יר׀

the bounds

גְּבוּלֹ֣ת

of the people

עַמִּ֗ים

 

וַעֲתֽיּדֹתֵיהֶם֙

and have robbed

שׁוֹשֵׂ֔תִי

and I have put down

וְאוֹרִ֥יד

like a valiant

כַּאבִּ֖יר

the inhabitants

יוֹשְׁבִֽים׃

hath found

וַתִּמְצָ֨א

as a nest

כַקֵּ֤ן׀

And my hand

יָדִי֙

the riches

לְחֵ֣יל

of the people

הָֽעַמִּ֔ים

and as one gathereth

אָסָ֑פְתִּי

eggs

בֵּיצִ֣ים

that are left

עֲזֻב֔וֹת

 

כָּל

all the earth

הָאָ֖רֶץ

 

אֲנִ֣י

and as one gathereth

אָסָ֑פְתִּי

 

וְלֹ֤א

 

הָיָה֙

and there was none that moved

נֹדֵ֣ד

the wing

כָּנָ֔ף

וּפֹצֶ֥ה

הֲיִתְפָּאֵר֙

Shall the axe

leanness

רָז֑וֹן

 

וְתַ֧חַת

and under his glory

כְּבֹד֛וֹ

he shall kindle

יֵקַ֥ד

a burning

כִּיק֥וֹד

a burning

כִּיק֥וֹד

like the burning of a fire

אֵֽשׁ׃

 

וְהָיָ֤ה

And the light

אֽוֹר

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

shall be for a fire

לְאֵ֔שׁ

and his Holy One

וּקְדוֹשׁ֖וֹ

for a flame

לְלֶהָבָ֑ה

and it shall burn

וּבָעֲרָ֗ה

and devour

וְאָֽכְלָ֛ה

his thorns

שִׁית֥וֹ

and his briers

וּשְׁמִיר֖וֹ

בְּי֥וֹם

in one

אֶחָֽד׃

the glory

וּכְב֤וֹד

of his forest

יַעְרוֹ֙

and of his fruitful field

וְכַרְמִלּ֔וֹ

And shall consume

For the Lord

the Lord

be not afraid

תִּירָ֥א

O my people

עַמִּ֛י

that dwellest

יֹשֵׁ֥ב

in Zion

צִיּ֖וֹן

of the Assyrian

מֵֽאַשּׁ֑וּר

thee with a rod

בַּשֵּׁ֣בֶט

he shall smite

יַכֶּ֔כָּה

his staff

וּמַטֵּ֥הוּ

and shall lift up

יִשָּֽׂא

 

עָלֶ֖יךָ

against thee after the manner

בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ

of Egypt

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

 

כִּי

 

ע֖וֹד

For yet a very

וְכָ֣לָה

and the indignation

And he shall cut down
