And Ahab

בַּתְּעָלָ֖ה

and licked up

לִחֵֽכָה׃

וַיַּרְא֙

 

כָּל

And when all the people

הָעָ֔ם

it they fell

וַֽיִּפְּל֖וּ

 

עַל

on their faces

פְּנֵיהֶ֑ם

and they said

וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ

The LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

ה֣וּא

he is the God

הָֽאֱלֹהִֽים׃

הָֽאֱלֹהִֽים׃

said

וַיֹּאמֶר֩

And Elijah

אֵֽלִיָּ֙הוּ֙

 

לָהֶ֜ם

And they took

וַֽיִּתְפְּשׂ֑וּם

 

אֶת

the prophets

נְבִיאֵ֣י

of Baal

הַבַּ֗עַל

let not one

אִ֛ישׁ

 

אַל

of them escape

יִמָּלֵ֥ט

 

מֵהֶ֖ם

And they took

וַֽיִּתְפְּשׂ֑וּם

brought them down

וַיּֽוֹרִדֵ֤ם

And Elijah

אֵֽלִיָּ֙הוּ֙

 

אֶל

to the brook

נַ֣חַל

Kishon

קִישׁ֔וֹן

and slew

וַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖ם

 

שָֽׁם׃

said

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

And Elijah

אֵֽלִיָּ֙הוּ֙

unto Ahab

לְאַחְאָ֔ב

Get thee up

עֲלֵ֖ה

eat

אֱכֹ֣ל

and drink

וּשְׁתֵ֑ה

 

כִּי

for there is a sound

ק֖וֹל

of abundance

הֲמ֥וֹן

of rain

הַגָּֽשֶׁם׃

went up

עָלָ֨ה

So Ahab

אַחְאָ֖ב

to eat

לֶֽאֱכֹ֣ל

and to drink

וְלִשְׁתּ֑וֹת

And Elijah

וְאֵ֨לִיָּ֜הוּ

went up

עָלָ֨ה

 

אֶל

to the top

רֹ֤אשׁ

of Carmel

הַכַּרְמֶל֙

and he cast himself down

וַיִּגְהַ֣ר

upon the earth

אַ֔רְצָה

and put

וַיָּ֥שֶׂם

his face

פָּנָ֖יו

 

בֵּ֥ין

between his knees

בִּרְכָּֽו׃

And he said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

 

אֶֽל

to his servant

נַעֲר֗וֹ

And he went up

וַיַּ֙עַל֙

 

נָא֙

and looked

וַיַּבֵּ֔ט

toward

דֶּֽרֶךְ

the sea

יָ֔ם

And he went up

וַיַּ֙עַל֙

and looked

וַיַּבֵּ֔ט

And he said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

 

אֵ֣ין

There is nothing

מְא֑וּמָה

And he said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

Go again

And it came to pass at the seventh time

בַּשְּׁבִעִ֔ית

And he said

הִנֵּה

קְטַנָּ֥ה

hand

כְּכַף

like a man's

אִ֖ישׁ

Behold there ariseth

עֲלֵ֨ה

out of the sea

מִיָּ֑ם

And he said

אֱמֹ֤ר

Behold there ariseth

עֲלֵ֨ה

And he said

אֱמֹ֤ר

 

אֶל

unto Ahab

אַחְאָב֙

Prepare

אֱסֹ֣ר

thy chariot and get thee down

וָרֵ֔ד

 

וְלֹ֥א

stop

יַֽעֲצָרְכָ֖ה

that the rain

הַגָּֽשֶׁם׃

 

וַיְהִ֣י׀

 

עַד

And it came to pass in the mean while

כֹּ֗ה

that the heaven

וְהַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙

was black

הִֽתְקַדְּרוּ֙

with clouds

עָבִ֣ים

and wind

וְר֔וּחַ

 

וַיְהִ֖י

rain

גֶּ֣שֶׁם

and there was a great

גָּד֑וֹל

rode

וַיִּרְכַּ֥ב

And Ahab

אַחְאָ֖ב

 

וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ

to Jezreel

יִזְרְעֶֽאלָה׃

And the hand

וְיַד

of the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

 

הָֽיְתָה֙

 

אֶל

was on Elijah

אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ

and he girded up

וַיְשַׁנֵּ֖ס

his loins

מָתְנָ֑יו

and ran

וַיָּ֙רָץ֙

before

לִפְנֵ֣י

Ahab

אַחְאָ֔ב

 

עַד

to the entrance

בֹּֽאֲכָ֖ה

of Jezreel

יִזְרְעֶֽאלָה׃
