the LORD

and concerning the daughters

הַבָּנ֔וֹת

that are born

הַמּוֹלִדִ֥ים

in this place

בַּמָּק֣וֹם

 

הַזֶּ֑ה

 

וְעַֽל

and concerning their mothers

אִמֹּתָ֞ם

that are born

הַמּוֹלִדִ֥ים

 

אוֹתָ֗ם

 

וְעַל

them and concerning their fathers

אֲבוֹתָ֛ם

that are born

הַמּוֹלִדִ֥ים

 

אוֹתָ֖ם

them in this land

בָּאָ֥רֶץ

 

הַזֹּֽאת׃

deaths

מְמוֹתֵ֨י

of grievous

תַחֲלֻאִ֜ים

They shall die

יָמֻ֗תוּ

 

לֹ֤א

they shall not be lamented

יִסָּֽפְדוּ֙

 

וְלֹ֣א

neither shall they be buried

יִקָּבֵ֔רוּ

but they shall be as dung

לְדֹ֛מֶן

 

עַל

upon the face

פְּנֵ֥י

of the earth

הָאֲדָמָ֖ה

 

יִֽהְי֑וּ

by the sword

וּבַחֶ֤רֶב

and by famine

וּבָֽרָעָב֙

and they shall be consumed

יִכְל֔וּ

 

וְהָיְתָ֤ה

and their carcases

נִבְלָתָם֙

shall be meat

לְמַאֲכָ֔ל

for the fowls

לְע֥וֹף

of heaven

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

and for the beasts

וּלְבֶהֱמַ֥ת

of the earth

הָאָֽרֶץ׃

 

כִּֽי

 

כֹ֣ה׀

For thus saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

אַל

Enter

תָּבוֹא֙

not into the house

בֵּ֣ית

of mourning

מַרְזֵ֔חַ

 

וְאַל

 

תֵּלֵ֣ךְ

to lament

לִסְפּ֔וֹד

 

וְאַל

nor bemoan

תָּנֹ֖ד

 

לָהֶ֑ם

 

כִּֽי

them for I have taken away

אָסַ֨פְתִּי

 

אֶת

my peace

שְׁלוֹמִ֜י

 

מֵאֵ֨ת

from this people

הָעָ֤ם

 

הַזֶּה֙

saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

אֶת

even lovingkindness

הַחֶ֖סֶד

 

וְאֶת

and mercies

הָֽרַחֲמִֽים׃

shall die

וּמֵ֨תוּ

Both the great

גְדֹלִ֧ים

and the small

וּקְטַנִּ֛ים

in this land

בָּאָ֥רֶץ

 

הַזֹּ֖את

 

לֹ֣א

they shall not be buried

יִקָּבֵ֑רוּ

 

וְלֹֽא

neither shall men lament

יִסְפְּד֣וּ

 

לָהֶ֔ם

 

וְלֹ֣א

for them nor cut

יִתְגֹּדַ֔ד

 

וְלֹ֥א

themselves nor make themselves bald

יִקָּרֵ֖חַ

 

לָהֶֽם׃

 

וְלֹֽא

Neither shall men tear

יִפְרְס֥וּ

 

לָהֶ֛ם

 

עַל

themselves for them in mourning

אֵ֖בֶל

to comfort

לְנַחֲמ֣וֹ

 

עַל

them for the dead

מֵ֑ת

 

וְלֹֽא

to drink

יַשְׁק֤וּ

 

אוֹתָם֙

neither shall men give them the cup

כּ֣וֹס

of consolation

תַּנְחוּמִ֔ים

 

עַל

for their father

אָבִ֖יו

 

וְעַל

or for their mother

אִמּֽוֹ׃

into the house

וּבֵית

of feasting

מִשְׁתֶּ֥ה

 

לֹא

Thou shalt not also go

תָב֖וֹא

to sit

לָשֶׁ֣בֶת

 

אוֹתָ֑ם

with them to eat

לֶאֱכֹ֖ל

and to drink

וְלִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃

 

כִּי֩

 

כֹ֨ה

For thus saith

אָמַ֜ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֤ה

of hosts

צְבָאוֹת֙

the God

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

 

הִנְנִ֨י

Behold I will cause to cease

מַשְׁבִּ֜ית

 

מִן

out of this place

הַמָּק֥וֹם

 

הַזֶּ֛ה

in your eyes

לְעֵינֵיכֶ֖ם

and in your days

וּבִֽימֵיכֶ֑ם

and the voice

וְק֥וֹל

of mirth

שָׂשׂוֹן֙

and the voice

וְק֥וֹל

of gladness

שִׂמְחָ֔ה

and the voice

וְק֥וֹל

of the bridegroom

חָתָ֖ן

and the voice

וְק֥וֹל

of the bride

כַּלָּֽה׃

 

וְהָיָ֗ה

 

כִּ֤י

And it shall come to pass when thou shalt shew

תַגִּיד֙

this people

לָעָ֣ם

 

הַזֶּ֔ה

 

אֵ֥ת

 

כָּל

all these words

הַדְּבָרִ֖ים

 

הָאֵ֑לֶּה

and they shall say

וְאָמְר֣וּ

 

אֵלֶ֗יךָ

 

עַל

 

מֶה֩

pronounced

דִבֶּ֨ר

against the LORD

לַֽיהוָ֥ה

 

עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙

 

אֵ֣ת

 

כָּל

evil

הָרָעָ֤ה

all this great

הַגְּדוֹלָה֙

 

הַזֹּ֔את

 

וּמֶ֤ה

against us or what is our iniquity

עֲוֹנֵ֙נוּ֙

 

וּמֶ֣ה

or what is our sin

חַטָּאתֵ֔נוּ

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

that we have committed

חָטָ֖אנוּ

against the LORD

לַֽיהוָ֥ה

our God

אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

Then shalt thou say

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣

 

אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם

 

עַל֩

 

אֲשֶׁר

have forsaken

עָזָ֔בוּ

unto them Because your fathers

אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֤ם

 

אוֹתִי֙

me saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

וַיֵּלְכ֗וּ

after

אַֽחֲרֵי֙

gods

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

other

אֲחֵרִ֔ים

and have served

וַיַּעַבְד֖וּם

them and have worshipped

וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲו֣וּ

 

לָהֶ֑ם

 

וְאֹתִ֣י

have forsaken

עָזָ֔בוּ

 

וְאֶת

my law

תּוֹרָתִ֖י

 

לֹ֥א

me and have not kept

שָׁמָֽרוּ׃

 

וְאַתֶּ֛ם

worse

הֲרֵעֹתֶ֥ם

And ye have done

לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת

than your fathers

מֵאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם

 

וְהִנְּכֶ֣ם

ye walk

הֹלְכִ֗ים

every one

אִ֚ישׁ

after

אַֽחֲרֵי֙

the imagination

שְׁרִר֣וּת

heart

לִבּֽוֹ

of his evil

הָרָ֔ע

 

לְבִלְתִּ֖י

that they may not hearken

שְׁמֹ֥עַ

 

אֵלָֽי׃

Therefore will I cast

וְהֵטַלְתִּ֣י

 

אֶתְכֶ֗ם

 

מֵעַל֙

into a land

הָאָ֕רֶץ

 

הַזֹּ֔את

 

עַל

into a land

הָאָ֕רֶץ

 

אֲשֶׁר֙

 

לֹ֣א

that ye know

יְדַעְתֶּ֔ם

 

אַתֶּ֖ם

not neither ye nor your fathers

וַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם

and there shall ye serve

וַעֲבַדְתֶּם

 

שָׁ֞ם

 

אֶת

gods

אֱלֹהִ֤ים

other

אֲחֵרִים֙

day

יוֹמָ֣ם

and night

וָלַ֔יְלָה

 

אֲשֶׁ֛ר

 

לֹֽא

where I will not shew

אֶתֵּ֥ן

 

לָכֶ֖ם

you favour

חֲנִינָֽה׃

 

לָכֵ֛ן

 

הִנֵּֽה

Therefore behold the days

יָמִ֥ים

come

בָּאִ֖ים

saith

נְאֻם

The LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

וְלֹֽא

that it shall no more be said

יֵאָמֵ֥ר

 

עוֹד֙

liveth

חַי

The LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁ֧ר

that brought up

הֶעֱלָ֛ה

 

אֶת

the children

בְּנֵ֥י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

out of the land

מֵאֶ֥רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

 

כִּ֣י

 

אִם

liveth

חַי

But The LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

that brought up

הֶעֱלָ֜ה

 

אֶת

the children

בְּנֵ֤י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

and from all the lands

הָֽאֲרָצ֔וֹת

of the north

צָפ֔וֹן

 

וּמִכֹּל֙

and from all the lands

הָֽאֲרָצ֔וֹת

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

whither he had driven

הִדִּיחָ֖ם

 

שָׁ֑מָּה

them and I will bring them again

וַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִים֙

 

עַל

into their land

אַדְמָתָ֔ם

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

that I gave

נָתַ֖תִּי

unto their fathers

לַאֲבוֹתָֽם׃

 

הִנְנִ֨י

Behold I will send

אֶשְׁלַח֙

fishers

לְדַוָּגִ֥ים

for many

לְרַבִּ֣ים

saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

and they shall fish

וְדִיג֑וּם

them and after

וְאַֽחֲרֵי

 

כֵ֗ן

Behold I will send

אֶשְׁלַח֙

for many

לְרַבִּ֣ים

hunters

צַיָּדִ֔ים

and they shall hunt

וְצָד֞וּם

 

מֵעַ֤ל

 

כָּל

them from every mountain

הַר֙

 

וּמֵעַ֣ל

 

כָּל

and from every hill

גִּבְעָ֔ה

and out of the holes

וּמִנְּקִיקֵ֖י

of the rocks

הַסְּלָעִֽים׃

 

כִּ֤י

For mine eyes

עֵינָֽי׃

 

עַל

 

כָּל

are upon all their ways

דַּרְכֵיהֶ֔ם

 

לֹ֥א

they are not hid

נִסְתְּר֖וּ

from my face

מִלְּפָנָ֑י

 

וְלֹֽא

hid

נִצְפַּ֥ן

neither is their iniquity

עֲוֹנָ֖ם

from

מִנֶּ֥גֶד

For mine eyes

עֵינָֽי׃

I will recompense

וְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֣י

And first

רִֽאשׁוֹנָ֗ה

double

מִשְׁנֵ֤ה

their iniquity

עֲוֹנָם֙

and their sin

וְחַטָּאתָ֔ם

 

עַ֖ל

because they have defiled

חַלְּלָ֣ם

 

אֶת

my land

אַרְצִ֑י

with the carcases

בְּנִבְלַ֤ת

of their detestable

שִׁקּֽוּצֵיהֶם֙

and abominable things

וְתוֹעֲב֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔ם

they have filled

מָלְא֖וּ

 

אֶת

mine inheritance

נַחֲלָתִֽי׃

O LORD

יְהוָ֞ה

my strength

עֻזִּ֧י

and my fortress

וּמָעֻזִּ֛י

and my refuge

וּמְנוּסִ֖י

in the day

בְּי֣וֹם

of affliction

צָרָ֑ה

 

אֵלֶ֗יךָ

the Gentiles

גּוֹיִ֤ם

shall come

יָבֹ֙אוּ֙

unto thee from the ends

מֵֽאַפְסֵי

of the earth

אָ֔רֶץ

and shall say

וְיֹאמְר֗וּ

 

אַךְ

lies

שֶׁ֙קֶר֙

have inherited

נָחֲל֣וּ

Surely our fathers

אֲבוֹתֵ֔ינוּ

vanity

הֶ֖בֶל

 

וְאֵֽין

 

בָּ֥ם

and things wherein there is no profit

מוֹעִֽיל׃

make

הֲיַעֲשֶׂה

 

לּ֥וֹ

Shall a man

אָדָ֖ם

gods

אֱלֹהִֽים׃

 

וְהֵ֖מָּה

 

לֹ֥א

gods

אֱלֹהִֽים׃

 

לָכֵן֙

 

הִנְנִ֣י

I will cause them to know

וְיָדְע֖וּ

Therefore behold I will this once

בַּפַּ֣עַם

 

הַזֹּ֔את

I will cause them to know

וְיָדְע֖וּ

 

אֶת

mine hand

יָדִ֖י

 

וְאֶת

and my might

גְּבֽוּרָתִ֑י

I will cause them to know

וְיָדְע֖וּ

 

כִּֽי

that my name

שְׁמִ֥י

is The LORD

יְהוָֽה׃
