richer

יַעֲשִׁ֤יר

shall be far

בְעָשְׁר֔וֹ

than they all

גָּדוֹל֙

 

מִכֹּ֔ל

and by his strength

וּכְחֶזְקָת֣וֹ

shall be far

בְעָשְׁר֔וֹ

he shall stir up

יָעִ֣יר

 

הַכֹּ֔ל

 

אֵ֖ת

all against the realm

מַלְכ֥וּת

of Grecia

יָוָֽן׃

shall stand up

וְעָמַ֖ד

king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

And a mighty

גִּבּ֑וֹר

that shall rule

וּמָשַׁל֙

dominion

מִמְשָׁ֣ל

with great

רַ֔ב

and do

וְעָשָׂ֖ה

according to his will

כִּרְצוֹנֽוֹ׃

And when he shall stand up

וּכְעָמְדוֹ֙

shall be broken

תִּשָּׁבֵ֣ר

for his kingdom

מַלְכוּת֔וֹ

and shall be divided

וְתֵחָ֕ץ

toward the four

לְאַרְבַּ֖ע

winds

רוּח֣וֹת

of heaven

הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם

 

וְלֹ֣א

and not to his posterity

לְאַחֲרִית֗וֹ

 

וְלֹ֤א

nor according to his dominion

כְמָשְׁלוֹ֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which he ruled

מָשָׁ֔ל

 

כִּ֤י

shall be plucked up

תִנָּתֵשׁ֙

for his kingdom

מַלְכוּת֔וֹ

even for others

וְלַאֲחֵרִ֖ים

 

מִלְּבַד

 

אֵֽלֶּה׃

and he shall be strong

וְיֶחֱזַ֤ק

And the king

מֶֽלֶךְ

of the south

הַנֶּ֖גֶב

 

וּמִן

and one of his princes

שָׂרָ֑יו

and he shall be strong

וְיֶחֱזַ֤ק

 

עָלָיו֙

above him and have dominion

וּמָשָׁ֔ל

dominion

מִמְשָׁ֥ל

shall be a great

רַ֖ב

his dominion

מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃

And in the end

וּלְקֵ֤ץ

of years

שָׁנִים֙

they shall join themselves together

יִתְחַבָּ֔רוּ

daughter

וּבַ֣ת

for the king's

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of the south

הַנֶּ֗גֶב

and they that brought

וּמְבִיאֶ֙יהָ֙

 

אֶל

for the king's

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of the north

הַצָּפ֔וֹן

to make

לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת

an agreement

מֵישָׁרִ֑ים

 

וְלֹֽא

but she shall not retain

תַעְצֹ֞ר

the power

כּ֣וֹחַ

nor his arm

וּזְרֹע֔וֹ

 

וְלֹ֤א

neither shall he stand

יַעֲמֹד֙

nor his arm

וּזְרֹע֔וֹ

but she shall be given up

וְתִנָּתֵ֨ן

 

הִ֤יא

and they that brought

וּמְבִיאֶ֙יהָ֙

her and he that begat

וְהַיֹּ֣לְדָ֔הּ

her and he that strengthened

וּמַחֲזִקָ֖הּ

her in these times

בָּעִתִּֽים׃

shall one stand up

וְעָמַ֛ד

But out of a branch

מִנֵּ֥צֶר

of her roots

שָׁרָשֶׁ֖יהָ

in his estate

כַּנּ֑וֹ

and shall enter

וְיָבֹא֙

 

אֶל

with an army

הַחַ֗יִל

and shall enter

וְיָבֹא֙

into the fortress

בְּמָעוֹז֙

of the king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of the north

הַצָּפ֔וֹן

and shall deal

וְעָשָׂ֥ה

 

בָהֶ֖ם

against them and shall prevail

וְהֶחֱזִֽיק׃

 

וְגַ֣ם

their gods

אֱֽלֹהֵיהֶ֡ם

 

עִם

with their princes

נְסִֽכֵיהֶם֩

 

עִם

vessels

כְּלֵ֨י

and with their precious

חֶמְדָּתָ֜ם

of silver

כֶּ֧סֶף

and of gold

וְזָהָ֛ב

captives

בַּשְּׁבִ֖י

And shall also carry

יָבִ֣א

into Egypt

מִצְרָ֑יִם

 

וְהוּא֙

more years

שָׁנִ֣ים

and he shall continue

יַעֲמֹ֔ד

than the king

מִמֶּ֖לֶךְ

of the north

הַצָּפֽוֹן׃

shall come

וּבָ֗א

into his kingdom

בְּמַלְכוּת֙

So the king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of the south

הַנֶּ֔גֶב

and shall return

וְשָׁ֖ב

 

אֶל

into his own land

אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃

But his sons

וּבָנָ֣ו

and be stirred up

וְיִתְגָּרֶ֖ו

and shall assemble

וְאָסְפוּ֙

a multitude

הֲמוֹן֙

forces

חֲיָלִ֣ים

of great

רַבִּ֔ים

and one shall certainly

ב֖וֹא

and one shall certainly

ב֖וֹא

and overflow

וְשָׁטַ֣ף

and pass through

וְעָבָ֑ר

then shall he return

וְיָשֹׁ֥ב

and be stirred up

וְיִתְגָּרֶ֖ו

 

עַד

even to his fortress

מָֽעֻזֹּֽה׃

shall be moved with choler

וְיִתְמַרְמַר֙

And the king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of the south

הַנֶּ֔גֶב

and shall come forth

וְיָצָ֕א

and fight

וְנִלְחַ֥ם

 

עִמּ֖וֹ

And the king

הַצָּפ֑וֹן

and he shall set forth

וְהֶעֱמִיד֙

but the multitude

הֶהָמ֖וֹן

a great

רָ֔ב

shall be given

וְנִתַּ֥ן

into his hand

בְּיָדֽוֹ׃

And when he hath taken away

וְנִשָּׂ֥א

the multitude

his heart

and he shall cast down

וְהִפִּ֛יל

but he shall not be strengthened

For the king

הַצָּפ֔וֹן

there shall many

לְהַעֲמִ֥יד

 

עַל

against the king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of the south

הַנֶּ֑גֶב

also the robbers

וּבְנֵ֣י׀

 

פָּרִיצֵ֣י

of thy people

עַמְּךָ֗

shall exalt

יִֽנַּשְּׂא֛וּ

stand up

לְהַעֲמִ֥יד

the vision

חָז֖וֹן

but they shall fall

וְנִכְשָֽׁלוּ׃

shall come

וְיָבֹא֙

So the king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of the north

הַצָּפ֔וֹן

and cast up

וְיִשְׁפֹּךְ֙

a mount

סֽוֹלֲלָ֔ה

and take

וְלָכַ֖ד

cities

עִ֣יר

the most fenced

מִבְצָר֑וֹת

and the arms

וּזְרֹע֤וֹת

of the south

הַנֶּ֙גֶב֙

 

לֹ֣א

shall not withstand

לַעֲמֹֽד׃

people

וְעַם֙

neither his chosen

מִבְחָרָ֔יו

 

וְאֵ֥ין

neither shall there be any strength

כֹּ֖חַ

shall not withstand

לַעֲמֹֽד׃

against him shall do

וְיַ֨עַשׂ

But he that cometh

הַבָּ֤א

 

אֵלָיו֙

according to his own will

כִּרְצוֹנ֔וֹ

 

וְאֵ֥ין

and none shall stand

וְיַעֲמֹ֥ד

before

לְפָנָ֑יו

and none shall stand

וְיַעֲמֹ֥ד

land

בְּאֶֽרֶץ

in the glorious

הַצְּבִ֖י

 

וְכָלָ֥ה

which by his hand

בְיָדֽוֹ׃

He shall also set

וְיָשֵׂ֣ם׀

his face

פָּ֠נָיו

to enter

לָב֞וֹא

with the strength

בְּתֹ֧קֶף

 

כָּל

of his whole kingdom

מַלְכוּת֛וֹ

and upright ones

וִישָׁרִ֥ים

 

עִמּ֖וֹ

with him thus shall he do

וְעָשָׂ֑ה

him the daughter

וּבַ֤ת

הַנָּשִׁים֙

and he shall give

יִתֶּן

corrupting

her but she shall not stand

לְאִיִּ֖ים

and shall take

וְלָכַ֣ד

offered by him to cease

וְהִשְׁבִּ֨ית

but a prince

קָצִ֤ין

for his own behalf shall cause the reproach

חֶרְפָּת֖וֹ

בִּלְתִּ֥י

for his own behalf shall cause the reproach

חֶרְפָּת֖וֹ

he shall cause it to turn

Then he shall turn

וְיָשֵׁ֣ב

פָּנָ֔יו

toward the fort

לְמָעוּזֵּ֖י

of his own land

אַרְצ֑וֹ

but he shall stumble

וְנִכְשַׁ֥ל

and fall

וְנָפַ֖ל

 

וְלֹ֥א

and not be found

יִמָּצֵֽא׃

Then shall stand up

וְעָמַ֧ד

 

עַל

in his estate

כַּנּ֛וֹ

a raiser

מַעֲבִ֥יר

of taxes

נוֹגֵ֖שׂ

in the glory

הֶ֣דֶר

of the kingdom

מַלְכ֑וּת

days

וּבְיָמִ֤ים

but within few

אֲחָדִים֙

he shall be destroyed

יִשָּׁבֵ֔ר

 

וְלֹ֥א

neither in anger

בְאַפַּ֖יִם

 

וְלֹ֥א

nor in battle

בְמִלְחָמָֽה׃

shall stand up

וְעָמַ֤ד

 

עַל

And in his estate

כַּנּוֹ֙

a vile person

נִבְזֶ֔ה

 

וְלֹא

to whom they shall not give

נָתְנ֥וּ

 

עָלָ֖יו

the honour

ה֣וֹד

of the kingdom

מַלְכ֖וּת

but he shall come

וּבָ֣א

in peaceably

בְשַׁלְוָ֔ה

and obtain

וְהֶחֱזִ֥יק

of the kingdom

מַלְכ֖וּת

by flatteries

בַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃

And with the arms

וּזְרֹע֥וֹת

of a flood

הַשֶּׁ֛טֶף

shall they be overflown

יִשָּׁטְפ֥וּ

from before

מִלְּפָנָ֖יו

him and shall be broken

וְיִשָּׁבֵ֑רוּ

 

וְגַ֖ם

yea also the prince

נְגִ֥יד

of the covenant

בְּרִֽית׃

 

וּמִן

And after the league

הִֽתְחַבְּר֥וּת

 

אֵלָ֖יו

made with him he shall work

יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה

deceitfully

מִרְמָ֑ה

for he shall come up

וְעָלָ֥ה

and shall become strong

וְעָצַ֖ם

with a small

בִּמְעַט

people

גּֽוֹי׃

peaceably

בְּשַׁלְוָ֞ה

even upon the fattest places

וּבְמִשְׁמַנֵּ֣י

of the province

מְדִינָה֮

He shall enter

יָבוֹא֒

and he shall do

shall be to do mischief

כָּזָ֣ב

and they shall speak

but it shall not prosper

כִּתִּים֙

against him therefore he shall be grieved

וְנִכְאָ֔ה

וְשָׁ֣ב

and have indignation

against the holy

קֹֽדֶשׁ׃

so shall he do

וְעָשָׂ֑ה

and return

and have intelligence

וְיָבֵ֔ן

with them that forsake

עֹזְבֵ֖י

against the holy

קֹֽדֶשׁ׃

And arms

וּזְרֹעִ֖ים

 

מִמֶּ֣נּוּ

shall stand

יַעֲמֹ֑דוּ

on his part and they shall pollute

וְחִלְּל֞וּ

the sanctuary

הַמִּקְדָּ֤שׁ

of strength

הַמָּעוֹז֙

and shall take away

וְהֵסִ֣ירוּ

the daily

הַתָּמִ֔יד

sacrifice and they shall place

וְנָתְנ֖וּ

the abomination

הַשִּׁקּ֥וּץ

that maketh desolate

מְשֹׁמֵֽם׃

And such as do wickedly

וּמַרְשִׁיעֵ֣י

against the covenant

בְרִ֔ית

shall he corrupt

יַחֲנִ֖יף

by flatteries

בַּחֲלַקּ֑וֹת

but the people

וְעַ֛ם

that do know

יֹדְעֵ֥י

their God

אֱלֹהָ֖יו

shall be strong

יַחֲזִ֥קוּ

and do

וְעָשֽׂוּ׃

And they that understand

וּמַשְׂכִּ֣ילֵי

among the people

עָ֔ם

shall instruct

יָבִ֖ינוּ

many

לָֽרַבִּ֑ים

yet they shall fall

וְנִכְשְׁל֞וּ

by the sword

בְּחֶ֧רֶב

and by flame

וּבְלֶהָבָ֛ה

by captivity

בִּשְׁבִ֥י

and by spoil

וּבְבִזָּ֖ה

many days

יָמִֽים׃

Now when they shall fall

וּבְהִכָּ֣שְׁלָ֔ם

they shall be holpen

יֵעָזְר֖וּ

help

עֵ֣זֶר

with a little

מְעָ֑ט

shall cleave

וְנִלְו֧וּ

 

עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם

but many

רַבִּ֖ים

to them with flatteries

בַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃

 

וּמִן

And some of them of understanding

הַמַּשְׂכִּילִ֣ים

shall fall

יִכָּֽשְׁל֗וּ

to try

לִצְר֥וֹף

 

בָּהֶ֛ם

them and to purge

וּלְבָרֵ֥ר

and to make them white

וְלַלְבֵּ֖ן

 

עַד

even to the time

עֵ֣ת

of the end

קֵ֑ץ

 

כִּי

 

ע֖וֹד

because it is yet for a time appointed

לַמּוֹעֵֽד׃

shall be done

נֶעֱשָֽׂתָה׃

according to his will

כִרְצֹנ֜וֹ

And the king

הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ

and he shall exalt

וְיִתְרוֹמֵ֤ם

himself and magnify

וְיִתְגַּדֵּל֙

יְכַבֵּ֛ד

with gold

בְּזָהָ֥ב

and silver

וּבְכֶ֛סֶף

stones

וּבְאֶ֥בֶן

and with precious

יְקָרָ֖ה

 

וּבַחֲמֻדֽוֹת׃

Thus shall he do

וְעָשָׂ֞ה

holds

לְמִבְצְרֵ֤י

in the most strong

מָֽעֻזִּים֙

אֱל֣וֹהַּ

with a strange

נֵכָ֔ר

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

whom he shall acknowledge

הַכִּ֖יר

and increase

יַרְבֶּ֣ה

with glory

כָב֑וֹד

and he shall cause them to rule

וְהִמְשִׁילָם֙

over many

בָּֽרַבִּ֔ים

the land

וַאֲדָמָ֖ה

and shall divide

יְחַלֵּ֥ק

for gain

בִּמְחִֽיר׃

And at the time

וּבְעֵ֣ת

shall come against him like a whirlwind

shall not escape

לִפְלֵיטָֽה׃

But he shall have power

וּמָשַׁ֗ל

over the treasures

בְּמִכְמַנֵּי֙

of gold

הַזָּהָ֣ב

and of silver

וְהַכֶּ֔סֶף

 

וּבְכֹ֖ל

and over all the precious

חֲמֻד֣וֹת

things of Egypt

מִצְרָ֑יִם

and the Libyans

וְלֻבִ֥ים

and the Ethiopians

וְכֻשִׁ֖ים

shall be at his steps

בְּמִצְעָדָֽיו׃

But tidings

וּשְׁמֻע֣וֹת

shall trouble

יְבַהֲלֻ֔הוּ

out of the east

מִמִּזְרָ֖ח

and out of the north

וּמִצָּפ֑וֹן

him therefore he shall go forth

וְיָצָא֙

fury

בְּחֵמָ֣א

with great

גְדֹלָ֔ה

to destroy

לְהַשְׁמִ֥יד

and utterly to make away

וּֽלְהַחֲרִ֖ים

many

רַבִּֽים׃

And he shall plant

וְיִטַּע֙

the tabernacles

אָהֳלֶ֣י

of his palace

אַפַּדְנ֔וֹ

 

בֵּ֥ין

between the seas

יַמִּ֖ים

mountain

לְהַר

in the glorious

צְבִי

holy

קֹ֑דֶשׁ

yet he shall come

וּבָא֙

 

עַד

to his end

קִצּ֔וֹ

 

וְאֵ֥ין

and none shall help

עוֹזֵ֖ר

 

לֽוֹ׃
