מִצְרָֽיִם׃

וַתַּ֣עַשׂ

the earth

הָאָ֔רֶץ

בְּשֶׁ֖בַע

years

שְׁנֵ֣י

plenteous

הַשָּׂבָ֑ע

by handfuls

לִקְמָצִֽים׃

And he gathered up

וַיִּקְבֹּ֞ץ

 

אֶת

 

כָּל

all the food

אֹ֧כֶל

of the seven

שֶׁ֣בַע

years

שָׁנִ֗ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

 

הָיוּ֙

which were in the land

בְּאֶ֣רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרַ֔יִם

and laid up

נָתַ֥ן

all the food

אֹ֧כֶל

every city

הָעִ֛יר

all the food

אֹ֧כֶל

of the field

שְׂדֵה

every city

הָעִ֛יר

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which was round about

סְבִֽיבֹתֶ֖יהָ

and laid up

נָתַ֥ן

in the same

בְּתוֹכָֽהּ׃

gathered

וַיִּצְבֹּ֨ר

And Joseph

יוֹסֵ֥ף

corn

בָּ֛ר

as the sand

כְּח֥וֹל

of the sea

הַיָּ֖ם

much

הַרְבֵּ֣ה

very

מְאֹ֑ד

 

עַ֛ד

 

כִּֽי

until he left

חָדַ֥ל

numbering

לִסְפֹּ֖ר

 

כִּי

for it was without

אֵ֥ין

number

מִסְפָּֽר׃

And unto Joseph

וּלְיוֹסֵ֤ף

bare

יָֽלְדָה

two

שְׁנֵ֣י

sons

בָנִ֔ים

 

בְּטֶ֥רֶם

came

תָּב֖וֹא

before the years

שְׁנַ֣ת

of famine

הָֽרָעָ֑ב

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

bare

יָֽלְדָה

 

לּוֹ֙

which Asenath

אָֽסְנַ֔ת

the daughter

בַּת

 

פּ֥וֹטִי

of Potipherah

פֶ֖רַע

priest

כֹּהֵ֥ן

of On

אֽוֹן׃

called

וַיִּקְרָ֥א

And Joseph

יוֹסֵ֛ף

 

אֶת

the name

שֵׁ֥ם

of the firstborn

הַבְּכ֖וֹר

Manasseh

מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה

 

כִּֽי

said he hath made me forget

נַשַּׁ֤נִי

For God

אֱלֹהִים֙

 

אֶת

 

כָּל

all my toil

עֲמָלִ֔י

 

וְאֵ֖ת

 

כָּל

house

בֵּ֥ית

and all my father's

אָבִֽי׃

 

וְאֵ֛ת

And the name

שֵׁ֥ם

of the second

הַשֵּׁנִ֖י

called

קָרָ֣א

he Ephraim

אֶפְרָ֑יִם

 

כִּֽי

hath caused me to be fruitful

הִפְרַ֥נִי

For God

אֱלֹהִ֖ים

in the land

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

of my affliction

עָנְיִֽי׃

were ended

וַתִּכְלֶ֕ינָה

And the seven

שֶׁ֖בַע

years

שְׁנֵ֣י

of plenteousness

הַשָּׂבָ֑ע

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

 

הָיָ֖ה

that was in the land

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

began

וַתְּחִלֶּ֜ינָה

And the seven

שֶׁ֣בַע

years

שְׁנֵ֤י

and the dearth

רָעָב֙

to come

לָב֔וֹא

 

כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר

had said

אָמַ֣ר

according as Joseph

יוֹסֵ֑ף

 

וַיְהִ֤י

and the dearth

רָעָב֙

 

בְּכָל

but in all the land

אֶ֥רֶץ

 

וּבְכָל

but in all the land

אֶ֥רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרַ֖יִם

 

הָ֥יָה

there was bread

לָֽחֶם׃

was famished

וַתִּרְעַב֙

 

כָּל

And when all the land

אֶ֣רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרַ֙יִם֙

cried

וַיִּצְעַ֥ק

the people

הָעָ֛ם

 

אֶל

and Pharaoh

פַּרְעֹ֤ה

for bread

לַלָּ֑חֶם

said

יֹאמַ֥ר

and Pharaoh

פַּרְעֹ֤ה

 

לְכָל

of Egypt

מִצְרַ֙יִם֙

 

לְכ֣וּ

 

אֶל

unto Joseph

יוֹסֵ֔ף

 

אֲשֶׁר

said

יֹאמַ֥ר

 

לָכֶ֖ם

to you do

תַּֽעֲשֽׂוּ׃

And the famine

הָֽרָעָ֖ב

 

הָיָ֔ה

 

עַ֖ל

 

כָּל

was over all the face

פְּנֵ֣י

in the land

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

opened

וַיִּפְתַּ֨ח

And Joseph

יוֹסֵ֜ף

 

אֶֽת

 

כָּל

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

 

בָּהֶם֙

all the storehouses and sold

וַיִּשְׁבֹּ֣ר

 

לְמִצְרַ֔יִם

waxed sore

וַיֶּֽחֱזַ֥ק

And the famine

הָֽרָעָ֖ב

in the land

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

 

וְכָל

And all countries

הָאָֽרֶץ׃

came

בָּ֣אוּ

into Egypt

מִצְרַ֔יְמָה

for to buy

לִשְׁבֹּ֖ר

 

אֶל

to Joseph

יוֹסֵ֑ף

 

כִּֽי

was so sore

חָזַ֥ק

corn because that the famine

הָֽרָעָ֖ב

 

בְּכָל

And all countries

הָאָֽרֶץ׃
