have blasphemed

גִּדְּפ֛וּ

wherewith the servants

נַעֲרֵ֥י

of the king

מֶלֶךְ

of Assyria

אַשּׁ֖וּר

 

אוֹתִֽי׃

 

הִנְנִ֨י

Behold I will send

נוֹתֵ֥ן

 

בּוֹ֙

a blast

ר֔וּחַ

upon him and he shall hear

וְשָׁמַ֥ע

a rumour

שְׁמוּעָ֖ה

and return

וְשָׁ֣ב

 

אֶל

in his own land

בְּאַרְצֽוֹ׃

and I will cause him to fall

וְהִפַּלְתִּ֥יו

by the sword

בַּחֶ֖רֶב

in his own land

Now therefore O LORD

עָלִ֛יתִי

into the height

מְר֣וֹם

of the mountains

הָרִ֖ים

to the sides

יַרְכְּתֵ֣י

of Lebanon

לְבָנ֑וֹן

and I will cut down

וְאֶכְרֹ֞ת

the tall

קוֹמַ֤ת

cedars

אֲרָזָיו֙

thereof and the choice

מִבְחַ֣ר

fir trees

בְּרֹשָׁ֔יו

thereof and I will enter

וְאָבוֹא֙

into the height

מְר֣וֹם

of his border

קִצּ֔וֹ

and the forest

יַ֖עַר

 

כַּרְמִלּֽוֹ׃

 

אֲנִ֥י

I have digged

קַ֖רְתִּי

and drunk

וְשָׁתִ֣יתִי

water

מָ֑יִם

have I dried up

וְאַחְרִב֙

and with the sole

בְּכַף

of my feet

פְּעָמַ֔י

all the rivers

יְאֹרֵ֥י

of the besieged places

Hast thou not heard

שָׁמַ֤עְתָּ

long ago

לְמֵֽרָחוֹק֙

how I have done

עָשִׂ֔יתִי

it and of ancient

קֶ֖דֶם

that I have formed

וִיצַרְתִּ֑יהָ

 

עַתָּ֣ה

it now have I brought

הֲבֵאתִ֔יהָ

 

וּתְהִ֗י

it to pass that thou shouldest be to lay waste

לְהַשְׁא֛וֹת

heaps

גַּלִּ֥ים

into ruinous

נִצִּ֖ים

cities

עָרִ֥ים

defenced

בְּצֻרֽוֹת׃

Therefore their inhabitants

וְיֹֽשְׁבֵיהֶן֙

were of small

קִצְרֵי

power

יָ֔ד

they were dismayed

חַ֖תּוּ

and confounded

וָבֹ֑שׁוּ

 

הָי֞וּ

they were as the grass

עֵ֤שֶׂב

of the field

שָׂדֶה֙

and as the green

וִ֣ירַק

herb

דֶּ֔שֶׁא

as the grass

חֲצִ֣יר

on the housetops

גַּגּ֔וֹת

and as corn blasted

וּשְׁדֵמָ֖ה

before

לִפְנֵ֥י

it be grown up

קָמָֽה׃

thy abode

וְשִׁבְתְּךָ֛

and thy going out

וְצֵאתְךָ֥

and thy coming in

וּבוֹאֲךָ֖

But I know

יָדָ֑עְתִּי

 

וְאֵ֖ת

and thy rage

הִֽתְרַגֶּזְךָ֥

 

אֵלָֽי׃

 

יַ֚עַן

Because thy rage

הִתְרַגֶּזְךָ֣

 

אֵלַ֔י

against me and thy tumult

וְשַׁאֲנַנְךָ֖

is come up

עָלָ֣ה

into mine ears

בְאָזְנָ֑י

therefore will I put

וְשַׂמְתִּ֨י

my hook

חַחִ֜י

in thy nose

בְּאַפֶּ֗ךָ

and my bridle

וּמִתְגִּי֙

in thy lips

בִּשְׂפָתֶ֔יךָ

and I will turn thee back

וַהֲשִׁ֣יבֹתִ֔יךָ

by the way

בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ

by which thou camest

וְזֶה

 

לְּךָ֣

And this shall be a sign

הָא֔וֹת

and eat

וְאִכְו֥לּ

this year

וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה

such as groweth

סָפִ֔יחַ

וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה

of itself and the second

הַשֵּׁנִ֖ית

that which springeth

שָׁחִ֑יס

this year

וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה

of the same and in the third

הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗ית

sow

זִרְע֧וּ

ye and reap

וְקִצְר֛וּ

and plant

וְנִטְע֥וּ

vineyards

כְרָמִ֖ים

and eat

וְאִכְו֥לּ

the fruit

פִרְיָֽם׃

shall again

וְיָ֨סְפָ֜ה

that is escaped

פְּלֵיטַ֧ת

בֵּית

And the remnant

הַנִּשְׁאָרָ֖ה

take root

לְמָ֑טָּה

and bear

וְעָשָׂ֥ה

fruit

לְמָֽעְלָה׃

For out of Jerusalem

מִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙

shall go forth

תֵּצֵ֣א

a remnant

שְׁאֵרִ֔ית

and they that escape

וּפְלֵיטָ֖ה

out of mount

מֵהַ֣ר

Zion

צִיּ֑וֹן

the zeal

He shall not come

יָבוֹא֙

 

אֶל

into this city

הָעִ֣יר

 

הַזֹּ֔את

 

וְלֹֽא

nor shoot

יוֹרֶ֥ה

 

שָׁ֖ם

an arrow

חֵ֑ץ

 

וְלֹֽא

there nor come before

יְקַדְּמֶ֣נָּה

it with shields

מָגֵ֔ן

 

וְלֹֽא

nor cast

יִשְׁפֹּ֥ךְ

 

עֳלֶ֖יהָ

a bank

סֹלְלָֽה׃

By the way

בַּדֶּ֥רֶךְ

 

אֲשֶׁר

and shall not come

יָב֖וֹא

 

בָּ֣הּ

by the same shall he return

יָשׁ֑וּב

 

וְאֶל

into this city

הָעִ֥יר

נְאֻם

For I will defend

וְגַנּוֹתִ֛י

לְהֽוֹשִׁיעָ֑הּ

 

לְמַֽעֲנִ֔י

 

וּלְמַ֖עַן

and when they arose early
