וְעַמְּךָ֔

that enter

הַבָּאִ֖ים

in by these gates

בַּשְּׁעָרִ֥ים

 

הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

 

כֹּ֣ה׀

Thus saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

Execute

עֲשׂ֤וּ

ye judgment

מִשְׁפָּט֙

and righteousness

וּצְדָקָ֔ה

and deliver

וְהַצִּ֥ילוּ

the spoiled

גָז֖וּל

out of the hand

מִיַּ֣ד

of the oppressor

עָשׁ֑וֹק

to the stranger

וְגֵר֩

the fatherless

יָת֨וֹם

nor the widow

וְאַלְמָנָ֤ה

 

אַל

and do no wrong

תֹּנוּ֙

 

אַל

do no violence

תַּחְמֹ֔סוּ

blood

וְדָ֣ם

innocent

נָקִ֔י

 

אַֽל

neither shed

תִּשְׁפְּכ֖וּ

in this place

בַּמָּק֥וֹם

 

הַזֶּֽה׃

 

כִּ֤י

 

אִם

For if ye do

תַּֽעֲשׂ֔וּ

הַדָּבָ֖ר

then shall there enter in

by the gates

בְשַׁעֲרֵ֣י

of this house

מְלָכִים֩

sitting

יֹשְׁבִ֨ים

of David

לְדָוִ֜ד

 

עַל

upon the throne

כִּסְא֗וֹ

riding

רֹֽכְבִים֙

in chariots

בָּרֶ֣כֶב

and on horses

וּבַסּוּסִ֔ים

 

ה֥וּא

he and his servants

וַעֲבָדָ֖ו

and his people

וְעַמּֽוֹ׃

 

וְאִם֙

 

לֹ֣א

But if ye will not hear

תִשְׁמְע֔וּ

 

אֶת

these words

הַדְּבָרִ֖ים

 

הָאֵ֑לֶּה

 

בִּ֤י

I swear

נִשְׁבַּ֙עְתִּי֙

by myself saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

כִּי

shall become a desolation

לְחָרְבָּ֥ה

 

יִֽהְיֶ֖ה

that this house

הַבַּ֥יִת

 

הַזֶּֽה׃

 

כִּֽי

 

כֹ֣ה׀

For thus saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

 

עַל

house

בֵּית֙

unto the king's

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of Judah

יְהוּדָ֔ה

Thou art Gilead

גִּלְעָ֥ד

 

אַתָּ֛ה

 

לִ֖י

unto me and the head

רֹ֣אשׁ

of Lebanon

הַלְּבָנ֑וֹן

 

אִם

 

לֹ֤א

yet surely I will make

אֲשִֽׁיתְךָ֙

thee a wilderness

מִדְבָּ֔ר

and cities

עָרִ֖ים

 

לֹ֥א

which are not inhabited

נוֹשָֽׁבהּ׃

And I will prepare

וְקִדַּשְׁתִּ֥י

 

עָלֶ֛יךָ

destroyers

מַשְׁחִתִ֖ים

against thee every one

אִ֣ישׁ

with his weapons

וְכֵלָ֑יו

and they shall cut down

וְכָֽרְתוּ֙

thy choice

מִבְחַ֣ר

cedars

אֲרָזֶ֔יךָ

and cast

וְהִפִּ֖ילוּ

 

עַל

them into the fire

הָאֵֽשׁ׃

shall pass

וְעָֽבְרוּ֙

nations

גּוֹיִ֣ם

And many

רַבִּ֔ים

 

עַ֖ל

by this city

לָעִ֥יר

 

הַזֹּ֑את

and they shall say

וְאָֽמְרוּ֙

every man

אִ֣ישׁ

 

אֶל

to his neighbour

רֵעֵ֔הוּ

 

עַל

 

מֶ֨ה

done

עָשָׂ֤ה

Wherefore hath the LORD

יְהוָה֙

 

כָּ֔כָה

by this city

לָעִ֥יר

thus unto this great

הַגְּדוֹלָ֖ה

 

הַזֹּֽאת׃

Then they shall answer

וְאָ֣מְר֔וּ

 

עַ֚ל

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

Because they have forsaken

עָֽזְב֔וּ

 

אֶת

the covenant

בְּרִ֥ית

of the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

gods

לֵאלֹהִ֥ים

and worshipped

וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֛וּ

gods

לֵאלֹהִ֥ים

other

אֲחֵרִ֖ים

and served

וַיַּעַבְדֽוּם׃

 

אַל

Weep

בָכוֹ֙

ye not for the dead

לְמֵ֔ת

 

וְאַל

neither bemoan

תָּנֻ֖דוּ

 

ל֑וֹ

and his chambers

וַעֲלִיּוֹתָ֖יו

מִשְׁפָּ֑ט

that useth his neighbour's

בְּרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙

יַעֲבֹ֣ד

without wages

חִנָּ֔ם

him not for his work

וּפֹעֲל֖וֹ

That saith

הָאֹמֵ֗ר

I will build

אֶבְנֶה

 

לִּי֙

house

בֵּ֣ית

me a wide

מִדּ֔וֹת

chambers

וַעֲלִיּ֖וֹת

and large

מְרֻוָּחִ֑ים

and cutteth him out

וְקָ֤רַֽע

 

לוֹ֙

windows

חַלּוֹנָ֔י

and it is cieled

וְסָפ֣וּן

with cedar

בָּאָ֔רֶז

and painted

וּמָשׁ֖וֹחַ

with vermilion

בַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃

Shalt thou reign

הֲתִֽמְלֹ֔ךְ

 

כִּ֥י

 

אַתָּ֖ה

because thou closest

מְתַחֲרֶ֣ה

thyself in cedar

בָאָ֑רֶז

did not thy father

אָבִ֜יךָ

 

הֲל֧וֹא

eat

אָכַ֣ל

and drink

וְשָׁתָ֗ה

and do

וְעָשָׂ֤ה

judgment

מִשְׁפָּט֙

and justice

וּצְדָקָ֔ה

and then it was well

Therefore thus saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

 

אֶל

concerning Jehoiakim

יְהוֹיָקִ֤ים

the son

בֶּן

of Josiah

יֹאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙

king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of Judah

יְהוּדָ֔ה

 

לֹא

they shall not lament

יִסְפְּד֣וּ

 

ל֔וֹ

or Ah

וְה֥וֹי

my brother

אָחִ֖י

or Ah

וְה֥וֹי

sister

אָח֑וֹת

 

לֹא

they shall not lament

יִסְפְּד֣וּ

הַלְּבָנוֹן֙

and cry

וְצַֽעֲקִי֙

in Bashan

וּבַבָּשָׁ֖ן

and lift up

תְּנִ֣י

thy voice

קוֹלֵ֑ךְ

and cry

וְצַֽעֲקִי֙

but thou saidst

לֹ֣א

I will not hear

שָׁמַ֖עַתְּ

This hath been thy manner

דַרְכֵּךְ֙

from thy youth

מִנְּעוּרַ֔יִךְ

 

כִּ֥י

 

לֹֽא

I will not hear

שָׁמַ֖עַתְּ

not my voice

בְּקוֹלִֽי׃

 

כָּל

all thy pastors

תִּרְעֶה

all thy pastors

תִּרְעֶה

The wind

ר֔וּחַ

and thy lovers

וּֽמְאַהֲבַ֖יִךְ

into captivity

בַּשְּׁבִ֣י

 

יֵלֵ֑כוּ

 

כִּ֣י

 

אָ֤ז

surely then shalt thou be ashamed

תֵּבֹ֙שִׁי֙

and confounded

וְנִכְלַ֔מְתְּ

 

מִכֹּ֖ל

for all thy wickedness

רָעָתֵֽךְ׃

O inhabitant

יֹשַׁבְתְּ֙י

of Lebanon

בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן

that makest thy nest

מְקֻנַּ֖נְתְּי

in the cedars

בָּֽאֲרָזִ֑ים

how gracious

נֵּחַנְתְּ֙

come

בְּבֹא

 

לָ֣ךְ

shalt thou be when pangs

חֲבָלִ֔ים

upon thee the pain

as of a woman in travail
