לָכֶ֖ם

your fallow ground

נִ֑יר

 

וְאַֽל

and sow

תִּזְרְע֖וּ

 

אֶל

not among thorns

קֹצִֽים׃

Circumcise

הִמֹּ֣לוּ

yourselves to the LORD

לַיהוָֹ֗ה

and take away

וְהָסִ֙רוּ֙

the foreskins

עָרְל֣וֹת

of your heart

לְבַבְכֶ֔ם

ye men

אִ֥ישׁ

of Judah

יְהוּדָ֖ה

and inhabitants

וְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י

of Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

 

פֶּן

come forth

תֵּצֵ֨א

like fire

כָאֵ֜שׁ

lest my fury

חֲמָתִ֗י

and burn

וּבָעֲרָה֙

 

וְאֵ֣ין

that none can quench

מְכַבֶּ֔ה

it because

מִפְּנֵ֖י

of the evil

of your doings

מַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם׃

הַגִּ֣ידוּ

ye in Judah

בִֽיהוּדָ֗ה

in Jerusalem

וּבִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙

and publish

הַשְׁמִ֔יעוּ

and say

וְאִמְר֔וּ

Blow

ותִּקְע֥וּ

ye the trumpet

שׁוֹפָ֖ר

in the land

בָּאָ֑רֶץ

cry

קִרְא֤וּ

gather together

מַלְאוּ֙

and say

וְאִמְר֔וּ

Assemble

הֵאָסְפ֥וּ

yourselves and let us go

וְנָב֖וֹאָה

 

אֶל

cities

עָרֵ֥י

into the defenced

הַמִּבְצָֽר׃

toward Zion

וְהָיָ֤ה

And it shall come to pass at that day

בַיּוֹם

 

הַהוּא֙

נְאֻם

יֹאבַ֥ד

and the heart

וְלֵ֣ב

of the king

הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ

and the heart

of the princes

הַשָּׂרִ֑ים

shall be astonished

וְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙

and the priests

הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים

and the prophets

וְהַנְּבִאִ֖ים

shall wonder

הַזֶּה֙

and Jerusalem

וְלִירוּשָׁלִַ֣ם

לֵאמֹ֔ר

Ye shall have peace

שָׁל֖וֹם

 

יִהְיֶ֣ה

 

לָכֶ֑ם

reacheth

וְנָגְעָ֥ה

whereas the sword

חֶ֖רֶב

 

עַד

unto the soul

הַנָּֽפֶשׁ׃

At that time

בָּעֵ֣ת

 

הַהִ֗יא

shall it be said

יֵאָמֵ֤ר

of my people

עַמִּ֑י

 

הַזֶּה֙

and to Jerusalem

וְלִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

wind

ר֣וּחַ

A dry

שְׁפָיִם֙

in the wilderness

בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר

דֶּ֖רֶךְ

the daughter

אוֹתָֽם׃

 

הִנֵּ֣ה׀

as clouds

כַּעֲנָנִ֣ים

Behold he shall come up

יַעֲלֶ֗ה

shall be as a whirlwind

וְכַסּוּפָה֙

and his chariots

מַרְכְּבוֹתָ֔יו

are swifter

קַלּ֥וּ

than eagles

מִנְּשָׁרִ֖ים

his horses

סוּסָ֑יו

Woe

א֥וֹי

 

לָ֖נוּ

 

כִּ֥י

unto us! for we are spoiled

שֻׁדָּֽדְנוּ׃

O Jerusalem

אֱוִ֣יל

For my people

לֹ֣א

they have no knowledge

יָדָֽעוּ׃

children

בָּנִ֤ים

me they are sottish

סְכָלִים֙

 

הֵ֔מָּה

 

וְלֹ֥א

and they have none understanding

נְבוֹנִ֖ים

 

הֵ֑מָּה

they are wise

חֲכָמִ֥ים

 

הֵ֙מָּה֙

to do evil

לְהָרַ֔ע

but to do good

וּלְהֵיטִ֖יב

 

לֹ֥א

they have no knowledge

יָדָֽעוּ׃

I beheld

רָאִ֙יתִי֙

 

אֶת

the earth

הָאָ֔רֶץ

 

וְהִנֵּה

and lo it was without form

תֹ֖הוּ

and void

וָבֹ֑הוּ

 

וְאֶל

and the heavens

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

 

וְאֵ֥ין

and they had no light

אוֹרָֽם׃

I beheld

רָאִ֙יתִי֙

the mountains

הֶֽהָרִ֔ים

 

וְהִנֵּ֖ה

and lo they trembled

רֹעֲשִׁ֑ים

 

וְכָל

and all the hills

הַגְּבָע֖וֹת

moved lightly

הִתְקַלְקָֽלוּ׃

I beheld

רָאִ֕יתִי

 

וְהִנֵּ֖ה

 

אֵ֣ין

and lo there was no man

הָאָדָ֑ם

 

וְכָל

and all the birds

ע֥וֹף

of the heavens

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

were fled

נָדָֽדוּ׃

I beheld

רָאִ֕יתִי

 

וְהִנֵּ֥ה

and lo the fruitful place

הַכַּרְמֶ֖ל

was a wilderness

הַמִּדְבָּ֑ר

 

וְכָל

and all the cities

עָרָ֗יו

thereof were broken down

נִתְּצוּ֙

at the presence

of the LORD

said

אָמַ֣ר

For thus hath the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

shall be desolate

The whole land

הָאָ֑רֶץ

a full end

וְכָלָ֖ה

 

לֹ֥א

yet will I not make

אֶעֱשֶֽׂה׃

For this shall the earth

הָאָ֔רֶץ

be black

וְקָדְר֥וּ

and the heavens

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

because I have spoken
