the wicked

by giving

לָ֥תֶת

his way

דַּרְכּ֖וֹ

upon his own head

בְּרֹאשׁ֑וֹ

and by justifying

וּלְהַצְדִּ֣יק

the righteous

צַדִּ֔יק

by giving

him according to his righteousness

בָּנִ֥יתִי

for thy name

לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃

Then hear

וְשָֽׁמַעְתָּ֙

 

מִן

thou from the heavens

הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

 

אֶת

their prayer

תְּפִלָּתָ֖ם

 

וְאֶת

and their supplication

תְּחִנָּתָ֑ם

and maintain

וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ

their cause

מִשְׁפָּטָֽם׃

 

כִּ֣י

If they sin

יֶחֱטָ֔א

 

לָ֗ךְ

 

כִּ֣י

 

אֵ֤ין

against thee (for there is no man

אָדָם֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

לֹֽא

If they sin

יֶחֱטָ֔א

not and thou be angry

וְאָֽנַפְתָּ֣

 

בָ֔ם

with them and deliver

וּנְתַתָּ֖ם

them over before

לִפְנֵ֣י

their enemies

אוֹיֵ֑ב

and they carry them away

שֽׁוֹבֵיהֶ֛ם

and they carry them away

שֽׁוֹבֵיהֶ֛ם

 

אֶל

unto a land

אֶ֥רֶץ

far off

רְחוֹקָ֖ה

 

א֥וֹ

or near

קְרוֹבָֽה׃

Yet if they bethink

וְשָׁ֣בוּ׀

 

אֶל

 

לְבָבָ֔ם

themselves in the land

בְּאֶ֤רֶץ

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

whither they are carried captive

נִשְׁבּוּ

 

שָׁ֑ם

Yet if they bethink

וְשָׁ֣בוּ׀

and pray

וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֣וּ

 

אֵלֶ֗יךָ

themselves in the land

בְּאֶ֤רֶץ

of their captivity

שִׁבְיָם֙

saying

לֵאמֹ֔ר

We have sinned

חָטָ֥אנוּ

we have done amiss

הֶֽעֱוִ֖ינוּ

and have dealt wickedly

וְרָשָֽׁעְנוּ׃

If they return

וְשָׁ֣בוּ

 

אֵלֶ֗יךָ

 

בְּכָל

to thee with all their heart

לִבָּם֙

 

וּבְכָל

and with all their soul

נַפְשָׁ֔ם

in the land

אַרְצָם֙

of their captivity

שִׁבְיָ֖ם

 

אֲשֶׁר

whither they have carried them captives

שָׁב֣וּ

 

אֹתָ֑ם

and pray

וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֗וּ

toward

דֶּ֤רֶךְ

in the land

אַרְצָם֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which thou gavest

נָתַ֣תָּה

unto their fathers

לַֽאֲבוֹתָ֔ם

and toward the city

וְהָעִיר֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which thou hast chosen

בָּחַ֔רְתָּ

and toward the house

וְלַבַּ֖יִת

 

אֲשֶׁר

which I have built

בָּנִ֥יתִי

for thy name

לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃

Then hear

וְשָֽׁמַעְתָּ֙

 

מִן

thou from the heavens

הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם

place

מִמְּכ֣וֹן

even from thy dwelling

שִׁבְתְּךָ֗

 

אֶת

their prayer

תְּפִלָּתָם֙

 

וְאֶת

and their supplications

תְּחִנֹּ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם

and maintain

וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ

their cause

מִשְׁפָּטָ֑ם

and forgive

וְסָֽלַחְתָּ֥

thy people

לְעַמְּךָ֖

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which have sinned

חָֽטְאוּ

 

לָֽךְ׃

 

עַתָּ֣ה

Now my God

אֱלֹהַ֗י

 

יִֽהְיוּ

 

נָ֤א

let I beseech thee thine eyes

עֵינֶ֙יךָ֙

be open

פְּתֻח֔וֹת

and let thine ears

וְאָזְנֶ֖יךָ

be attent

קַשֻּׁב֑וֹת

unto the prayer

לִתְפִלַּ֖ת

that is made in this place

הַמָּק֥וֹם

 

הַזֶּֽה׃

 

וְעַתָּ֗ה

Now therefore arise

קוּמָ֞ה

O LORD

יְהוָ֤ה

God

אֱלֹהִים֙

into thy resting

לְֽנוּחֶ֔ךָ

 

אַתָּ֖ה

place thou and the ark

וַֽאֲר֣וֹן

of thy strength

עֻזֶּ֑ךָ

let thy priests

כֹּֽהֲנֶ֜יךָ

O LORD

יְהוָ֤ה

God

אֱלֹהִים֙

be clothed

יִלְבְּשׁ֣וּ

with salvation

תְשׁוּעָ֔ה

and let thy saints

וַֽחֲסִידֶ֖יךָ

rejoice

יִשְׂמְח֥וּ

in goodness

בַטּֽוֹב׃

O LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

God

אֱלֹהִ֔ים

 

אַל

turn not away

תָּשֵׁ֖ב

the face

פְּנֵ֣י

of thine anointed

מְשִׁיחֶ֑ךָ

remember

זָכְרָ֕ה

the mercies

לְחַֽסְדֵ֖י

of David

דָּוִ֥יד

thy servant

עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃
