Therefore behold the days

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

to be heard

וְ֠הִשְׁמַעְתִּי

 

אֶל

in Rabbah

רַבַּ֨ת

of the Ammonites

בְּנֵי

 

עַמּ֜וֹן

that I will cause an alarm

תְּרוּעַ֣ת

of war

מִלְחָמָ֗ה

 

וְהָֽיְתָה֙

heap

לְתֵ֣ל

and it shall be a desolate

שְׁמָמָ֔ה

and her daughters

וּבְנֹתֶ֖יהָ

with fire

בָּאֵ֣שׁ

shall be burned

תִּצַּ֑תְנָה

be heir

יֹרְשָׁ֖יו

then shall Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל

חֲגֹ֣רְנָה

you with sackcloth

שַׂקִּ֔ים

lament

סְפֹ֕דְנָה

and run to and fro

וְהִתְשׁוֹטַ֖טְנָה

by the hedges

בַּגְּדֵר֑וֹת

 

כִּ֤י

for their king

מַלְכָּם֙

into captivity

בַּגּוֹלָ֣ה

 

יֵלֵ֔ךְ

and his priests

כֹּהֲנָ֥יו

and his princes

וְשָׂרָ֖יו

together

יַחְדָּֽיו׃

Wherefore gloriest

תִּתְהַֽלְלִי֙

thou in the valleys

עִמְקֵ֔ךְ

thy flowing

saying Who shall come

הִנְנִי֩

Behold I will bring

מֵבִ֨יא

 

עָלַ֜יִךְ

a fear

פַּ֗חַד

upon thee saith

נְאֻם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֧י

GOD

יְהוִ֛ה

of hosts

צְבָא֖וֹת

 

מִכָּל

from all those that be about

סְבִיבָ֑יִךְ

thee and ye shall be driven out

וְנִדַּחְתֶּם֙

every man

אִ֣ישׁ

right forth

לְפָנָ֔יו

 

וְאֵ֥ין

and none shall gather up

מְקַבֵּ֖ץ

him that wandereth

לַנֹּדֵֽד׃

And afterward

וְאַחֲרֵי

 

כֵ֗ן

I will bring again

from the prudent

מִבָּנִ֔ים

נִסְרְחָ֖ה

Is wisdom

חָכְמָתָֽם׃

Flee

נֻ֤סוּ

O inhabitants

the calamity

for I will bring

הֵבֵ֥אתִי

פְּקַדְתִּֽיו׃

 

אִם

If grapegatherers

בֹּֽצְרִים֙

come

בָּ֣אוּ

 

לָ֔ךְ

to thee would they not leave

יַשְׁאִ֖רוּ

some gleaning grapes

עֽוֹלֵל֑וֹת

 

אִם

if thieves

גַּנָּבִ֥ים

by night

בַּלַּ֖יְלָה

they will destroy

הִשְׁחִ֥יתוּ

till they have enough

But I have made Esau

עֵשָׂ֗ו

I have uncovered

his secret places

מִסְתָּרָ֔יו

to hide

וְנֶחְבָּ֖ה

 

לֹ֣א

and he shall not be able

יוּכָ֑ל

is spoiled

שֻׁדַּ֥ד

himself his seed

זַרְע֛וֹ

and his brethren

וְאֶחָ֥יו

and his neighbours

וּשְׁכֵנָ֖יו

 

וְאֵינֶֽנּוּ׃

Leave

עָזְבָ֥ה

thy fatherless children

יְתֹמֶ֖יךָ

I will preserve them alive

and let thy widows

a waste

לְחֹ֥רֶב

and a curse

וְלִקְלָלָ֖ה

 

תִּֽהְיֶ֣ה

that Bozrah

בָצְרָ֑ה

 

וְכָל

and all the cities

עָרֶ֥יהָ

 

תִהְיֶ֖ינָה

wastes

לְחָרְב֥וֹת

thereof shall be perpetual

עוֹלָֽם׃

a rumour

שְׁמוּעָ֤ה

I have heard

שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙

 

מֵאֵ֣ת

from the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

and an ambassador

וְצִ֖יר

unto the heathen

בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם

is sent

שָׁל֑וּחַ

saying Gather ye together

הִֽתְקַבְּצוּ֙

and come

וּבֹ֣אוּ

 

עָלֶ֔יהָ

against her and rise up

וְק֖וּמוּ

to the battle

לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

 

כִּֽי

 

הִנֵּ֥ה

thee small

קָטֹ֛ן

For lo I will make

נְתַתִּ֖יךָ

among the heathen

בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם

and despised

בָּז֖וּי

among men

בָּאָדָֽם׃

Thy terribleness

תִּֽפְלַצְתְּךָ֞

hath deceived

הִשִּׁ֤יא

 

אֹתָךְ֙

thee and the pride

זְד֣וֹן

of thine heart

לִבֶּ֔ךָ

O thou that dwellest

שֹֽׁכְנִי֙

in the clefts

בְּחַגְוֵ֣י

of the rock

הַסֶּ֔לַע

that holdest

תֹּפְשִׂ֖י

the height

מְר֣וֹם

of the hill

as the eagle

though thou shouldest make thy nest

Also Edom

אֱד֖וֹם

shall be a desolation

לְשַׁמָּ֑ה

every one that goeth

עֹבֵ֣ר

 

עָלֶ֔יהָ

by it shall be astonished

יִשֹּׁ֥ם

and shall hiss

וְיִשְׁרֹ֖ק

at all the plagues

מַכּוֹתֶֽהָ׃

As in the overthrow

כְּֽמַהְפֵּכַ֞ת

of Sodom

סְדֹ֧ם

and Gomorrah

וַעֲמֹרָ֛ה

and the neighbour

וּשְׁכֵנֶ֖יהָ

cities thereof saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

לֹֽא

shall abide

יֵשֵׁ֥ב

 

שָׁם֙

no man

אִ֔ישׁ

 

וְלֹֽא

dwell

יָג֥וּר

 

בָּ֖הּ

there neither shall a son

בֶּן

הִ֠נֵּה

like a lion

כְּאַרְיֵ֞ה

Behold he shall come up

יַעֲלֶ֨ה

from the swelling

מִגְּא֣וֹן

of Jordan

הַיַּרְדֵּן֮

 

אֶל

against the habitation

נְוֵ֣ה

of the strong

אֵיתָן֒

 

כִּֽי

but I will suddenly

אַרְגִּ֤יעָה

make him run away

אֲרִיצֶ֨נּוּ

 

מֵֽעָלֶ֔יהָ

from her and who is a chosen

בָח֖וּר

 

אֵלֶ֣יהָ

man that I may appoint

אֶפְקֹ֑ד

and who is that shepherd

Therefore hear

the counsel

עֲצַת

of the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

that he hath taken

יָעַץ֙

 

אֶל

against Edom

אֱד֔וֹם

and his purposes

וּמַ֨חְשְׁבוֹתָ֔יו

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

that he hath purposed

חָשַׁ֖ב

 

אֶל

against the inhabitants

יֹשְׁבֵ֣י

of Teman

תֵימָ֑ן

 

אִם

 

ל֤וֹא

shall draw them out

יִסְחָבוּם֙

Surely the least

צְעִירֵ֣י

of the flock

עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם

a purpose

מַחֲשָׁבָֽה׃

Arise

ק֣וּמוּ

get you up

עֲל֗וּ

 

אֶל

nation

גּ֥וֹי

unto the wealthy

שְׁלֵ֛יו

that dwelleth

יוֹשֵׁ֥ב

without care

לָבֶ֖טַח

saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

דְלָתַ֧יִם

 

וְלֹֽא

And their camels

גְמַלֵּיהֶ֜ם

shall be a booty

לָבַ֗ז

and the multitude

וַהֲמ֤וֹן

of their cattle

מִקְנֵיהֶם֙

a spoil

לְשָׁלָ֔ל

and I will scatter

וְזֵרִתִ֥ים

 

לְכָל

into all winds

ר֖וּחַ

them that are in the utmost

קְצוּצֵ֣י

corners

פֵאָ֑ה

 

וּמִכָּל

from all sides

עֲבָרָ֛יו

and I will bring

אָבִ֥יא

 

אֶת

their calamity

אֵידָ֖ם

thereof saith

נְאֻם

And Hazor

חָצ֜וֹר

shall be a dwelling

לִמְע֥וֹן

for dragons

עֵילָ֑ם

רֵאשִׁ֖ית

of their might

גְּבוּרָתָֽם׃

shall not come

יָב֥וֹא

 

אֶל

And upon Elam

עֵולָֽם׃

from the four

מֵֽאַרְבַּע֙

them toward all those winds

הָרֻח֣וֹת

from the four

מֵֽאַרְבַּע֙

quarters

קְצ֣וֹת

of heaven

הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

and will scatter

וְזֵ֣רִתִ֔ים

 

לְכֹ֖ל

them toward all those winds

הָרֻח֣וֹת

 

הָאֵ֑לֶּה

 

וְלֹֽא

 

יִהְיֶ֣ה

and there shall be no nation

הַגּ֔וֹי

 

אֲשֶׁ֛ר

 

לֹֽא

shall not come

יָב֥וֹא

whither the outcasts

נִדְּחֵ֥י

And upon Elam

עֵולָֽם׃

to be dismayed

וְהַחְתַּתִּ֣י

For I will cause Elam

עֵ֠ילָם

and before

וְלִפְנֵ֣י׀

their enemies

אֹיְבֵיהֶ֜ם

and before

וְלִפְנֵ֣י׀

them that seek

מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י

their life

נַפְשָׁ֗ם

and I will bring

וְהֵבֵאתִ֨י
