and they shall pursue

וּרְדָפ֖וּךָ

thee until thou perish

And thy heaven

שָׁמֶ֛יךָ

עַל

that is over thy head

his commandments

מִצְוֹתָ֥יו

and his statutes

וְחֻקֹּתָ֖יו

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which he commanded

צִוָּֽךְ׃

 

וְהָי֣וּ

 

בְךָ֔

And they shall be upon thee for a sign

לְא֖וֹת

and for a wonder

וּלְמוֹפֵ֑ת

and upon thy seed

וּֽבְזַרְעֲךָ֖

for

עַד

ever

עוֹלָֽם׃

 

תַּ֗חַת

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

 

לֹֽא

Because thou servedst

עָבַ֙דְתָּ֙

 

אֶת

not the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ

with joyfulness

בְּשִׂמְחָ֖ה

and with gladness

וּבְט֣וּב

of heart

לֵבָ֑ב

for the abundance

מֵרֹ֖ב

 

כֹּֽל׃

Therefore shalt thou serve

וְעָֽבַדְתָּ֣

 

אֶת

thine enemies

אֹֽיְבֶ֗יךָ

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

shall send

יְשַׁלְּחֶ֤נּוּ

which the LORD

יְהוָה֙

 

בָּ֔ךְ

against thee in hunger

בְּרָעָ֧ב

and in thirst

וּבְצָמָ֛א

and in nakedness

וּבְעֵירֹ֖ם

and in want

וּבְחֹ֣סֶר

 

כֹּ֑ל

of all things and he shall put

וְנָתַ֞ן

a yoke

עֹ֤ל

of iron

בַּרְזֶל֙

 

עַל

upon thy neck

צַוָּארֶ֔ךָ

 

עַ֥ד

until he have destroyed

הִשְׁמִיד֖וֹ

 

אֹתָֽךְ׃

shall bring

יִשָּׂ֣א

The LORD

יְהוָה֩

 

עָלֶ֨יךָ

a nation

גּ֕וֹי

against thee from far

מֵֽרָחֹק֙

from the end

מִקְצֵ֣ה

of the earth

הָאָ֔רֶץ

 

כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר

flieth

יִדְאֶ֖ה

as swift as the eagle

הַנָּ֑שֶׁר

a nation

גּ֕וֹי

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

 

לֹֽא

thou shalt not understand

תִשְׁמַ֖ע

whose tongue

לְשֹׁנֽוֹ׃

A nation

גּ֖וֹי

of fierce

עַ֣ז

countenance

פָנִים֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

 

לֹֽא

which shall not regard

יִשָּׂ֤א

countenance

פָנִים֙

of the old

לְזָקֵ֔ן

to the young

וְנַ֖עַר

 

לֹ֥א

nor shew favour

יָחֹֽן׃

And he shall eat

וְ֠אָכַל

and the fruit

וּפְרִֽי

of thy cattle

בְהֶמְתְּךָ֥

and the fruit

וּפְרִֽי

of thy land

אַדְמָתְךָ֮

 

עַ֣ד

until thou be destroyed

הִשָּֽׁמְדָךְ֒

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

 

לֹֽא

which also shall not leave

יַשְׁאִ֜יר

 

לְךָ֗

thee either corn

דָּגָן֙

wine

תִּיר֣וֹשׁ

or oil

וְיִצְהָ֔ר

or the increase

שְׁגַ֥ר

of thy kine

אֲלָפֶ֖יךָ

or flocks

וְעַשְׁתְּרֹ֣ת

of thy sheep

צֹאנֶ֑ךָ

 

עַ֥ד

until he have destroyed

הַֽאֲבִיד֖וֹ

 

אֹתָֽךְ׃

And he shall besiege

וְהֵצַ֤ר

 

לְךָ֜

 

בְּכָל

thee in all thy gates

שְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ

 

עַ֣ד

come down

רֶ֤דֶת

walls

חֹֽמֹתֶ֙יךָ֙

until thy high

הַגְּבֹהֹ֣ת

and fenced

וְהַבְּצֻר֔וֹת

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

 

אַתָּ֛ה

thou trustedst

בֹּטֵ֥חַ

 

בָּהֵ֖ן

 

בְּכָל

throughout all thy land

אַרְצְךָ֔

And he shall besiege

וְהֵצַ֤ר

 

לְךָ֙

 

בְּכָל

thee in all thy gates

שְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ

 

בְּכָ֨ל

throughout all thy land

אַרְצְךָ֔

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

hath given

נָתַ֛ן

which the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ

 

לָֽךְ׃

And thou shalt eat

וְאָֽכַלְתָּ֣

the fruit

פְרִֽי

of thine own body

בִטְנְךָ֗

the flesh

בְּשַׂ֤ר

of thy sons

בָּנֶ֙יךָ֙

and of thy daughters

וּבְנֹתֶ֔יךָ

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

hath given

נָֽתַן

 

לְךָ֖

which the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ

thee in the siege

בְּמָצוֹר֙

and in the straitness

וּבְמָצ֔וֹק

 

אֲשֶׁר

shall distress

יָצִ֥יק

 

לְךָ֖

wherewith thine enemies

אֹֽיְבֶֽךָ׃

So that the man

הָאִישׁ֙

that is tender

הָרַ֣ךְ

 

בְּךָ֔

delicate

וְהֶֽעָנֹ֖ג

among you and very

מְאֹ֑ד

 

תֵּרַ֨ע

his eye

עֵינ֤וֹ

toward his brother

בְאָחִיו֙

and toward the wife

וּבְאֵ֣שֶׁת

of his bosom

חֵיק֔וֹ

and toward the remnant

וּבְיֶ֥תֶר

of his children

בָּנָ֖יו

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which he shall leave

יוֹתִֽיר׃

So that he will not give

מִתֵּ֣ת׀

to any

לְאַחַ֣ד

 

מֵהֶ֗ם

of them of the flesh

מִבְּשַׂ֤ר

of his children

בָּנָיו֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

whom he shall eat

יֹאכֵ֔ל

 

מִבְּלִ֥י

because he hath nothing left

הִשְׁאִֽיר

 

ל֖וֹ

 

כֹּ֑ל

him in the siege

בְּמָצוֹר֙

and in the straitness

וּבְמָצ֔וֹק

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

shall distress

יָצִ֥יק

 

לְךָ֛

wherewith thine enemies

אֹֽיִבְךָ֖

 

בְּכָל

thee in all thy gates

שְׁעָרֶֽיךָ׃

The tender

הָֽרַכָּ֨ה

and delicate

וְהָֽעֲנֻגָּ֗ה

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

 

לֹֽא

woman among you which would not adventure

נִסְּתָ֤ה

the sole

כַף

of her foot

רַגְלָהּ֙

to set

הַצֵּ֣ג

 

עַל

upon the ground

הָאָ֔רֶץ

for delicateness

מֵֽהִתְעַנֵּ֖ג

and tenderness

וּמֵרֹ֑ךְ

 

תֵּרַ֤ע

her eye

עֵינָהּ֙

toward the husband

בְּאִ֣ישׁ

of her bosom

חֵיקָ֔הּ

and toward her son

וּבִבְנָ֖הּ

and toward her daughter

וּבְבִתָּֽהּ׃

And toward her young one

וּֽבְשִׁלְיָתָ֞הּ

that cometh out

הַיּוֹצֵ֣ת׀

 

מִבֵּ֣ין

from between her feet

רַגְלֶ֗יהָ

and toward her children

וּבְבָנֶ֙יהָ֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which she shall bear

תֵּלֵ֔ד

 

כִּֽי

for she shall eat

תֹאכְלֵ֥ם

them for want

בְּחֹֽסֶר

 

כֹּ֖ל

of all things secretly

בַּסָּ֑תֶר

in the siege

בְּמָצוֹר֙

and straitness

וּבְמָצ֔וֹק

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

shall distress

יָצִ֥יק

 

לְךָ֛

wherewith thine enemy

אֹֽיִבְךָ֖

thee in thy gates

בִּשְׁעָרֶֽיךָ׃

 

אִם

 

לֹ֨א

If thou wilt not observe

תִשְׁמֹ֜ר

to do

לַֽעֲשׂ֗וֹת

 

אֶת

 

כָּל

הַכְּתֻבִ֖ים

this glorious

הַנִּכְבָּ֤ד

וְהַנּוֹרָא֙

אֵ֖ת

THE LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

THY GOD

אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃

will make

וְהִפְלָ֤א

Then the LORD

יְהוָה֙

 

אֶת

and the plagues

מַכּ֤וֹת

 

וְאֵ֖ת

and the plagues

מַכּ֤וֹת

of thy seed

זַרְעֶ֑ךָ

and the plagues

מַכּ֤וֹת

even great

גְּדֹלֹת֙

and of long continuance

וְנֶֽאֱמָנִֽים׃

sicknesses

וָֽחֳלָיִ֥ם

and sore

רָעִ֖ים

and of long continuance

וְנֶֽאֱמָנִֽים׃

Moreover he will bring

וְהֵשִׁ֣יב

 

בְּךָ֗

 

אֵ֚ת

 

כָּל

upon thee all the diseases

מַדְוֵ֣ה

of Egypt

מִצְרַ֔יִם

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which thou wast afraid

יָגֹ֖רְתָּ

of

מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם

and they shall cleave

וְדָֽבְק֖וּ

 

בָּֽךְ׃

 

גַּ֤ם

 

כָּל

Also every sickness

חֳלִי֙

 

וְכָל

and every plague

מַכָּ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁר֙

 

לֹ֣א

which is not written

כָת֔וּב

in the book

בְּסֵ֖פֶר

of this law

הַתּוֹרָ֣ה

 

הַזֹּ֑את

bring

יַעְלֵ֤ם

them will the LORD

יְהוָה֙

 

עָלֶ֔יךָ

 

עַ֖ד

upon thee until thou be destroyed

הִשָּֽׁמְדָֽךְ׃

And ye shall be left

וְנִשְׁאַרְתֶּם֙

in number

בִּמְתֵ֣י

few

מְעָ֔ט

 

תַּ֚חַת

whereas

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

הֱיִיתֶ֔ם

ye were as the stars

כְּכֽוֹכְבֵ֥י

of heaven

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

for multitude

לָרֹ֑ב

 

כִּי

 

לֹ֣א

because thou wouldest not obey

שָׁמַ֔עְתָּ

the voice

בְּק֖וֹל

of the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

thy God

אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃

 

וְ֠הָיָה

 

כַּֽאֲשֶׁר

rejoiced

יָשִׂ֤ישׂ

And it shall come to pass that as the LORD

יְהוָה֙

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֗ם

over you to do you good

לְהֵיטִ֣יב

 

אֶתְכֶם֮

and to multiply

וּלְהַרְבּ֣וֹת

 

אֶתְכֶם֒

 

כֵּ֣ן

rejoiced

יָשִׂ֤ישׂ

And it shall come to pass that as the LORD

יְהוָה֙

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם

over you to destroy

לְהַֽאֲבִ֥יד

 

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

you and to bring you to nought

וּלְהַשְׁמִ֣יד

 

אֶתְכֶ֑ם

and ye shall be plucked

וְנִסַּחְתֶּם֙

 

מֵעַ֣ל

from off the land

הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁר

 

אַתָּ֥ה

whither thou goest

בָא

 

שָׁ֖מָּה

to possess

לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

shall scatter

וֶהֱפִֽיצְךָ֤

And the LORD

יְהוָה֙

 

בְּכָל

thee among all people

הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים

even unto the other

קְצֵ֣ה

of the earth

הָאָ֑רֶץ

 

וְעַד

even unto the other

קְצֵ֣ה

of the earth

הָאָ֑רֶץ

and there thou shalt serve

וְעָבַ֨דְתָּ

 

שָּׁ֜ם

gods

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

other

אֲחֵרִ֗ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֧ר

 

לֹֽא

have known

יָדַ֛עְתָּ

 

אַתָּ֥ה

which neither thou nor thy fathers

וַֽאֲבֹתֶ֖יךָ

even wood

עֵ֥ץ

and stone

וָאָֽבֶן׃

nations

וּבַגּוֹיִ֤ם

And among these

הָהֵם֙

 

לֹ֣א

shalt thou find no ease

תַרְגִּ֔יעַ

 

וְלֹֽא

 

יִהְיֶ֥ה

have rest

מָנ֖וֹחַ

neither shall the sole

לְכַף

of thy foot

רַגְלֶ֑ךָ

shall give

וְנָתַן֩

but the LORD

יְהוָ֨ה

 

לְךָ֥

 

שָׁם֙

heart

לֵ֣ב

thee there a trembling

רַגָּ֔ז

and failing

וְכִלְי֥וֹן

of eyes

עֵינַ֖יִם

and sorrow

וְדַֽאֲב֥וֹן

of mind

נָֽפֶשׁ׃

 

וְהָי֣וּ

And thy life

בְּחַיֶּֽיךָ׃

shall hang

תְּלֻאִ֥ים

 

לְךָ֖

in doubt before

מִנֶּ֑גֶד

thee and thou shalt fear

וּפָֽחַדְתָּ֙

and night

לַ֣יְלָה

day

וְיוֹמָ֔ם

 

וְלֹ֥א

and shalt have none assurance

תַֽאֲמִ֖ין

And thy life

בְּחַיֶּֽיךָ׃

In the morning

בֹּ֑קֶר

thou shalt say

תֹּאמַ֖ר

 

מִֽי

Would God it were

יִתֵּ֣ן

and at even

וּבָעֶ֥רֶב

and at even

וּבָעֶ֥רֶב

thou shalt say

תֹּאמַ֖ר

Would God it were

יִתֵּ֣ן

In the morning

בֹּ֑קֶר

for the fear

מִפַּ֤חַד

of thine heart

לְבָֽבְךָ֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

wherewith thou shalt fear

תִּפְחָ֔ד

and for the sight

וּמִמַּרְאֵ֥ה

of thine eyes

עֵינֶ֖יךָ

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which thou shalt see

תִּרְאֶֽה׃

again

וֶהֱשִֽׁיבְךָ֙

And the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה׀

thee into Egypt

מִצְרַיִם֮

with ships

בָּֽאֳנִיּוֹת֒

by the way

בַּדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

whereof I spake

אָמַ֣רְתִּֽי

 

לְךָ֔

 

לֹֽא

it no more again

תֹסִ֥יף

 

ע֖וֹד

unto thee Thou shalt see

לִרְאֹתָ֑הּ

and there ye shall be sold

וְהִתְמַכַּרְתֶּ֨ם

 

שָׁ֧ם

unto your enemies

לְאֹֽיְבֶ֛יךָ

for bondmen

לַֽעֲבָדִ֥ים

and bondwomen

וְלִשְׁפָח֖וֹת

 

וְאֵ֥ין

and no man shall buy

קֹנֶֽה׃
